Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Merrillville
Food was amazing, it was totally worth the money. Service was good, took a while to get our bacon and cheese app though.
Very cool place, great food with a ton of options to pick from.
reservations were at 7:15 didn’t seat till almost 8,
Food. Took forever to come out, also service with so slow.
Really great experience. Excellent service and good food.
An open table reservation didn't mean much. It was acknowledged but we still waited longer than expected. Everything seemed rushed once we were seated. Food was slightly over-cooked (dry). It will be a long time, if ever, before we'll be back. Too bad because there is a lack of quality restaurants in the area.
We had a fabulous dinner and our server Mike P went out of his way to make sure everything was great! My husband had the chef special (Ribeye) and I had the chicken risotto
Sent salmon dish back as it was over cooked... Tony (our server) was great!
Service and food was outstanding!!!!!
the places is just too loud they need to soundproof it I could hardly hear myself think loud loud
I like Cooper's Hawk. It has lots of great wine options and gluten-free options. The food was very good. We made a reservation, so we didn't have to wait. It's very dark in there. The lighting could have been a bit brighter as it was difficult to see the menu.
Went for my birthday. Just wish they had more shrimp options and a better variety of steak options
Service was good with good recommendations and food was good
Made an online reservation for booth seating.... when I arrive about 25 minutes early, I’m told that a booth can’t be promised. Then, I’m seated by the kitchen... VERY LOUD!!! The waitress was pleasant but not as professional or accommodating as expected...NEVER offered a drink besides more water.
Always a great place to meet friends. The food is good and ambiance is conducive to conversation.
Our waiter kara was extremely nice, so was the hostess that walked us to our table. We had a great time wine tasting the only complaint i have is with the lady who initially greeted us to check us in. We had initially made a reservation at 8 but once we realized we couldnt make it at that time we tried cancelling it but it did not allow us so we made a new one for 8:40. She was incredibly unpleasant and made us feel bad for changing our time and said we would have to wait which was ok it was just her attitude that we almost left. We tend to go all out for our date nights, most of the time we go to the city to nice restaurants but we decided to try coopers near us instead and well it was a good experience I would say that the initial greeting almost ruined that.
Overall, service, food and wine were great. The ambiance and the noise level wasn't at all we expected. We expected a little more intimacy and less background noise. We could pretty much hear the echo through out the whole restaurant. I understand busy is good, more money more profit. That's business but I don't think we'll be back at this location.
I’m going to be honest I was a little disappointed this time with the food. The portions got smaller and they forgot one of my side items. We’ll try it again but if it continues we’ll find another restaurant to spend our date nights at.
It was my wife and I second anniversary. In our honest opinion, it was horrible. Nothing was exciting about the food. I ordered the short ribs. She ordered the Life Balance salmon. It just was pretty boring but we are a very young couple so possible that could be the reason. Either or we know not to schedule a date there. Only to hang out.
Yes. Love the ambiance and the food is great. Our waitress was very helpful and courteous.
We had our tasting then dinner. It was a pleasant evening
We had a wonderful time. Our server was very helpful and attentive. We’ll be back.
The food and service was quite good. We are never disappointed with our meal.
It was my first time. I bought the wine club and got a Birthday offer. Very surprised and definately worth going! I love the wine tasting and the entirely seperate Gluten menu. This si a huge plus. Will be coming back frequently.
Exceptional food as always. The Parmesan encrusted filets were awesome as were the Mexican drunken shrimp. Sit in the bar area for a cozier & more private experience.
We waited for a table for a very long time despite having a reservation. When I inquired about the wait the not so professional hostess told us that there were people who had reservations before us waiting to be seated. Finally after being seated we noticed multiple empty tables despite the long wait. The server was lacking in communication skills. She seemed uneducated in the wine department despite being at a restaurant that prides themselves in wine. My wife waited a very long time for her glass of water to be refilled. When our meal came out the servers walked around the whole restaurant asking each table if that was their order. Don’t they write the table number down? Finally when our meal did arrive at our table, after touring the whole restaurant, our food was cold and needed to be sent back. The whole staff appeared overwhelmed and short staffed. We very very disappointed in this restaurant.
Our server was friendly. Good was delicious as always. Didn’t finish our bottle of wine, but we were able to take it. They recorked it and put it in a sealed bag.
Everything was good but we did have to wait 15 minutes past the time of our reservation.
The waitress was not very knowledgeable about wine choices
Great food, excellent wine (and other drinks) and the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Friday nights the wine tasting room is popular and very busy. But, if you can't find room in the tasting room, you can get a sample at your table. Highly recommended!
Friend I was with stated she had a gluten allergy and her food came covered in rice, despite it being a special order; her “fixed” food didn’t come back until I was done with my meal (and I am a slow eater). Later that night she was sick as a dog and sick all weekend after we ate there.... cross contamination?! My meal alone for soup and two crab cakes with an iced tea was $35! We regret eating here and probably won’t again anytime soon.
The food and service is always outstanding. I look forward to every visit.
Sammy took great care of us. Service was outstanding! Drinks were perfect. Wine never disappoints. The food was perfectly prepared and served. Looking forward to our next visit.
When to celebrate a birthday in the family. As always great service, food and of course wine.
Our server and food was very good however it was cold where we were sitting and there was an adjoining table that was a little loud.
Cooper Hawk's always has great food and atmosphere. However, it is a bit loud.
Ok need new items on menu. Wine was great
Enjoyable dining experience. I love that I can have wine from my wine club without being charged. It was my sons birthday and his first time dining there and he enjoyed himself. We didn’t have to wait long to be seated.
Waited a little longer than expected for food but overall experience excellent
Was there to celebrate my girlfriend‘s birthday, We had 5 other people with us Didn’t feel like arguing with the waitress to have anything fixed. Have been to other Cooper’s Hawk and by far the worst one, I ordered the steak medallions medium with crab cake, came out well done after sitting there for over an hour was not sending them back. Other people that were with me their orders were messed up to but I figured I’d write a review about mine. Waitress had to be told to refill the water glasses after and they had sat there empty for 25 minutes. Had to ask for drink refills every time had to ask for plates to be cleared off the table All in all horrible experience at this location will never go back
Service & the food was great!
