Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Kansas City
Well the service was terrible but this is one of my favs and I brought a date for the first time and we both agreees the service was terrible but food was great! From the moment we walked in til the moment we walked out! Terrible service but we did like our waiter
Excellent choices of wine and specialty drinks. Good variety of food. Food tastes great and came out pretty fast. Will be back again.
The food was phenomenal! The decor romantic. The 3 star rating is for the cluster they have for a lobby, wine tasting and merchandise. It was like a fancier Cracker Barrel. It is unorganized, crowded and the space is way too small for groups of wine tasters. We will go back but only get there 10 minutes before our reservation.
Cooper's Hawk is our 'go to' place on the Plaza. the food is always wonderful and the wine is amazing! I've never had a dish or a glass of wine that weren't delicious
We had a very attentive server, he was the best. He went above and beyond his duties. The tostada appetizer was delicious! Highly recommend. I had the short ribs and they were so flavorful and tender. Highly recommend! My husband had one of their signature chicken dishes. He said it was good but could have been better. We had the chocolate cake for dessert it was a bit dry but had good taste. Overall it was a pleasant experience and we will be back!
Great place with great wine and a fantastic atmosphere. Food is top
Tier and service was very attentive . We really enjoyed it.
We come to KC every February with a group of friends and CH is a must on these trips! It’s fantastic 😊
The food was fantastic. Great atmosphere. Very reasonably priced. Service was good but really slow. Since it was Valentine’s Day, I can look past that. Overall great experience.
Fantastic food and ambience, great Valentine’s Day date
The food here was amazing. With a reservation, still only waited about 25 minutes. Server was a tad bit slow but barely enough to interfere with dinner. Would definitely recommend!
Loved the wine tasting at the beginning, but our server Hunter was the highlight of the evening! He was prompt, courteous, and amazing!
Cooper’s Hawk is an excellent establishment. The wait staff were courteous and speedy. We will definitely be visiting again
One of our favorites. Never fails to satisfy. A perfect special occasions place to eat.
My wife and I had a good experience for Valentine's Day. The restaurant was good, the service was good, the prices were in line with the quality of the restaurant, and my wife was great!
Great service and food would definitely be returning soon.
We are members of the CH Wine Club and have enjoyed several wine tastings and meals there with friends, family, and as a couple. Every time our experience was the best. Their chefs have prepared every dish, including appetizers perfectly. We have tried different dishes every time and every one was perfect and we can't wait to go back and try a new dish. They also have reasonably priced wines for every taste to enjoy. Try a wine tasting and you are sure to find at least one, and probably several that you really enjoy.
We were in the Bar area. So it was louder than what we have experienced when we have dined in the main dining area. We are not complaining about the noise level...it's to be expected.
Day before Valentine's Day dinner, and it was excellent as usual. Service is always way above average. We had a reservation for 5:45 but didn't get seated till 6, which is unusual. Overall experience was great!
First time dining there - we had happy hour appetizers and a wine flight and both were wonderful. It’s an easy going upscale dining experience and I’d definitely go back.
It was my Birthday, and everything was just OUTSTANDING!! I love this restaurant. Thank you for helping make my birthday really hear this year!
It was my friends birthday and I noted that on the reservation but they never did anything and I wanted to surprise her.
Honored our request to switch to a table from a booth (my husband's preference) with no problem. Knowledgeable waitress, switched out sides to make selections more to our liking. We both select pork entrees, and shared a bottle of the Red wine paired with my husband's. Food and wine were very good. Restroom needed a little attention -out of soap in one dispenser, 1st toilet when entered needed flushed, paper toweling on floor, and roll of trash bags left on counter, but even with all of that we were very satisfied and plan to return.
Noise level was horrible but the food and service made up for it.
Celebrated Valentine’s Day early with my girlfriend and we had a great evening there. Victor, our waiter, was awesome. He was very welcoming and friendly, and very attentive & responsive. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was effect for our date night. We will definitely be dining there again!
Food is always good! Common area is always packed with wall to wall people and hard to move around. Very noisy. You get a reprieve once you go upstairs to dine. Service is always great, wait staff are very knowledgeable with the menu.
First visit. Wonderful food and our server was excellent. Will definitely return.
We love Cooper's Hawk and try to come back frequently - most of the dishes that we have ordered here were fantastic and we like their wines as well. I would recommend building your own flight of wines in order to try several.
It does unfortunately get very noisy when it's full (and it's always full).
The service we received was HORRIBLE. First off our waiter was very nonchalant. After placing our order, we watched people who came in AFTER us receive their meals. Twenty five minutes of being there the waiter finally brought us bread and butter. Another ten minutes and our appetizer finally came. We ordered the crispy brussel sprouts. The cook used so much oil that it was enough oil on our plates to butter a loaf of bread. After speaking to our waiter about why our food had not arrived, it finally came after we'd waited forty five minutes+. Our food was partially cold and my flat bread was overcooked. The crust was like biting through cement that crumbled. I tried to eat two pieces but became tired of grinding. I left more than half my flatbread because it was not edible. The manager stopped by and we explained to him what was going on. He basically said he was going to see what was going on in the kitchen and comp our appetizer. We asked that he not comp anything on our ticket because we wanted to pay for our entire order. We just wanted him to know how our experience was so it could be corrected with the next guess. We'd planned to order dessert, but we didn't want to wait another hour for what could be another none edible dish. So, we paid and left.
Coopers hawk consistently delivers outstanding food, wine and service. This location in Kansas City on the plaza is our favorite destination.
Great food and a fun atmosphere. Was disappointed that they had run out of my favorite wine. Other than that, it was great.
Dining with friends as a thank you! Wine tasting was fun and different. Dinner was delicious. Would definitely recommend to others and would definitely go back.
Great food, wine and service! The menu is diverse, with something for everyone!
We made reservations for 2 people at 8:15 pm and weren’t seated until almost 9 pm. We sat at the bar waiting to be seated and had to wait 10 min before our bar tender acknowledged us. Once we got seated our service through our waitress was great.
Great food and wine. Our server Hunter was outstanding.
Plan time to have a wine tasting before dinner but also plan on standing in line for said tasting. I would plan for at least a 30 to 45 min. wait to get your tasting but we feel it is worth the wait.
I recommend making a reservation or you'll have a significant wait time. The service was excellent, the food was delicious as was the wine. Highly recommend.
We love Coopers Hawk!! This was our first experience bringing the children age 3 and 6- great dining experience and quick service which helped! We will be back- until next time KC!
My second visit to Coopers Hawk, KC; this time with family. Everyone's wine & food was outstanding and the service was exemplary. Restaurant and Bar were alive with activity from the Friday night's Wine Tasting and a good crowd. The staff handled the 'overflow' perfectly, and there was no wait on our reservation.
My only 'negative' comment is that I specifically told our waiter to avoid any Bleu Cheese, Horseradish or Wassabe on my 'Beef Medallions' order. The Medallions arrived with 'caps' of Wassabe. I easily removed them, however, and they did not affect the excellent flavor of my meal.
