Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Indianapolis Ratings and Reviews
The calamari appetizer is to die for! Service was great. Lots of very good wines by the glass, including "flights" for wine tasting. The food is very good. Possibly my new favorite place. My only complaint is what tasted like unfiltered tap water. With all the other wonderful tastes of the meal, the simple glass of water was a jarring disconnect.
I loved that the wine tasting was so affordable. Service was excellent! All servers were engaged in their job. Food was served in a timely manner, drinks were refilled without having to ask. Atmosphere is excellent for a date night or any special occasion. The shrimp rolled in bacon tasted to perfection! Would definitely recommend this restaurant to family and friends.
My vegetables was cold. Everything else was nice to include our server. She was upset about our experience and tried to get some more vegetables but we wanted to eat together as a couple. The wine was amazing.
We enjoyed everything else. I believe they may have prepared our vegetables first.
Thanks you for allowing us to share our experience with you.
Had a reservation for 8:30 PM, when I got there I was told that we would have to wait for an additional 10 to 15 minutes because they didn't expect it to be as crowded as it was. Keep in mind this was Valentines Day and I don't know why a restaurant would not expect it to be crowded on this day. After 20 minutes waiting and seeing people who came before me getting seated, I asked what was going on. The host asked for my name and I said "Travis" he said, "it will be a few minutes John." I corrected him and he said, "just wait a few minutes." There was no explanation why other people got seated before me and with a reservation, the wait time was 30 minutes. It was another 50 minutes to get the food which was not hot at the time I got it. The management and staff here seem completely inept. I also got an email the next day from Open Door stating that I did not keep the reservation as the final slap in the face. Avoid this restaurant!
This is one my wife’s and my favorite restaurants! Unfortunately in the business of Valentine’s Day, Cooper’s Hawk disappointed. We had a reservation so we were seated right away. Then after ordering, the food took about an hour to come. We ordered dessert that was not cooked to their norm. Fortunately they fixed the dessert but overall it was a lackluster experience for such a nice restaurant. We will go back but it will be awhile.
My boyfriend and I went here for Valentine's Day, and we enjoyed it immensely. He got a glass of wine and I got a martini, both delicious. Our food was amazing as well. Our waitress was also so sweet and accommodating. If we are ever in the Indianapolis area again, we will definitely make another visit.
One of our favorite places for wine and food. The wines are superb and we always do a wine tasting before lunch or dinner. Service is great and we are always greeted by the host/hostess when we arrive, and the staff in the tasting room is very knowledgeable . If you don't live in the area, it's worth the drive.
My pork was very dry and my broccoli wasn’t even close to being done. Same for my date. I really enjoyed the experience but the food was not worth the money in my opinion. Maybe it will be better the next time. The wine tasting and service was phenomenal though.
Very disappointed! Per my reservation, I asked for a quiet booth; we were seated in the middle of a noisy room. My daughter ordered the filet, it was tough. It took at least 25 minutes to get our food once we completed a salad. I ordered the Spare Rib Risotto as I always do; not so good! This time the short ribs were broken up into bite sized pieces and scattered in the Risotto. I love this restaurant but this visit left me pondering a "no return".
We had such a great time celebrating my sister’s birthday. We were greeted in a timely manner and our server, Jessica was AMAZING! She was very attentive and welcoming. She definitely made the experience a great one and made my sister feel very special on her day! We enjoyed every bite.
I made a reservation for 7pm checked in approximately ten minutes prior to 7 and we were not seated until 7:30. My wife and I started the dining portion of our evening (WITH NO CHILDREN) off a little annoyed. We only had a set amount of time to enjoy a date night so we made the reservation to maximize our time and the time was not honored.
On to our table and our server greeted us in such a polite professional way we forgot we were upset. Our food was delivered as expected and our evening turned out to be great. Thank you all.
Wine tasting staff was great as always and pickup went smoothly with a smile from the lady who processed that order.
Maybe I should not have a
Complaint, but I’m disappointed about our visit today. I guess I can’t prove it But I think I requested to have a booth and be in the first room as I was bringing two elderly ladies for whom walking far and hearing is difficult. I also think I specified that ours was a special birthday lunch.
When we arrived today, I learned that a booth was not available, and we were seated about as far as we could have been. We managed okay, but again, I was disappointed. Our waiter was fine, but appeared not to have received the message that we were celebrating a special birthday . Our food was good and as I said, our waiter was fine..... but if I’m going to make a reservation weeks in advance for 2 ladies in their 90s, I would have appreciated more attention to my requests. Thank you for listening!
We think the food and wine here are very good. I had the salmon and it was outstanding, My wife had the pistachio crusted grouper and also really liked it. Our son had jambalaya and said it was good not great. Our server was very pleasant but there were gaps when we did not see her for periods of time. This happened last time as well. Not a big deal to me but my wife thought it was slow.
