Overall good experience. We're wine club members, and for the first time we didn't have a great experience because of one girl who was rude and didn't want to serve us. Even though she offered wine samples to the people in front and behind us, we were left empty handed. And had to practically beg for a sample, although others who were waiting like us were offered a sample while they wait in the tasting line. Just a poor way to start our dining experience in a wine restaurant. Especially since we are members and know normally the service is exceptional and not rude.
Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable about both the wine menu and entrée menu. Her suggestions were all very good and not disappointing. Loved the offering of 2 tastes of wine -- and that night the barrel reserve was offered --- so we tasted and of course ordered!!!
I have been to Cooper's Hawk numerous times to eat and wine taste. This last past weekend was the worse by far. Our service could have been better. The server was nice and all, but it could have been better. I suggested this place to a first time couple to join us and celebrate his birthday. I felt disappointed I invited them. For a table of 4 eating, it took almost 45 minutes to get our food to the table and when it arrived it looked as if my steak had sat for days! It was dry, and my whole dish was cold. I didn't say anything as I was starving and didn't want to wait any longer. Just a little disappointed this time around. The wine of course did not disappoint.
This is our third visit in a year, and twice we’ve been very disappointed, including this last visit.
The waitress was pretty good, but challenged by other issues. First, only 4 of 5 meals arrived, and one of those was improperly cooked, so it went back. By the time meals 4 and 5 re-arrived, the first three were almost completed.
Kudos to the manager who brought them for removing them from our bill.
Sorry, but to have two similar problems occur out of three visits is simply more than we can accept from a restaurant in this price range.
First of all, the waitress was amazing...so when I give 1 star for service it’s not reflective of her. In fact, had it not been for her, we might have gotten really upset, or left. We had 5 pm reservations and were seated right away...then the wheels started to fall off. Probably was 10-15 minutes before anyone came to table to take drink orders. Then we waited for her to take appetizer orders, which wasn’t too long. It seemed to take a very long time to get the appetizers but we finally got them and they were really good. She then took dinner orders and that’s when it got really bad. We waited, and waited, and waited...I’m betting we probably waited an hour. The waitress kept coming by over and over again apologizing for the delay, and finally said they were plating our meals...then another 15 minutes went by. We finally got our meals and they were good but we’d waited so long the couple we came with didn’t eat theirs.
What bothered me the most was that the manager NEVER came by to offer an apology or anything. The waitress, who obviously felt really bad, tried to make it up to us and brought us each a chocolate covered strawberry and chocolate pastry and again was profusely apologetic. I thought the poor girl tried to do everything she could, so I left her a nice tip nonetheless...it wasn’t her fault. However, the fact the manager didn’t ever come by or offer to do something, anything, dessert, etc was not okay.
Waitress gets 5 stars...manager gets zero stars.
Felt like by doing what he/she did, the manager left the waitress hung out to dry and face the wrath of the customer...fortunately for waitress, we completely understood it wasn’t her fault, she wasn’t making the food in back. The manager, however, was obviously asleep at the wheel for letting this happen, and never coming by table to try to smooth things over. Not sure if this was a one-time situation or not, but I’m also not sure I will go back.
Time seated 5:00...time we left 7:23.
Great food and good atmosphere for a birthday party.
Food great. Had tomatillos bisque which was wonderful. Jambalaya had just the correct amount of spice.
Way too noisy inside.
This is one of our favorite restaurants! We have never had a bad meal! Don't forget to ask for your free 2 wine tastings at the table. Very good wine here! We belong to the club and go to free wine tasting in the tasting room before our meals.
Good food, good service, a little expensive compared to other restaurant choices
Food was delicious, as always and our waiter was very fun and went along with all of my husband's corny jokes! :) Cooper's is always one of our favorites.
The only downfall was how loud it was. Anytime we sit in the back area, it is always VERY noisy. It was a bit overwhelming after a while.
All in all, this place ROCKS!
We love the food, ambiance and service! Everything we have had has been so fresh and delicious. The salmon and green beans were so tasty. The servers have been very friendly and provide excellent one on one service. They also offer two wine samples at your table so you can order a wine you truly enjoy! We really like then Pinot Gris and the Super Tuscan. Overall, Cooper Hawks is a Must try!
Excellent service and excellent food. The Romance Red wine is my favorite
Dined prior to a concert. Service was prompt. The lobster bisque is really delicious. The menu offers many and varied selections for everyone. I have eaten here several times and always enjoyed the experience. I was with my teen-aged granddaughter and she was pleased and impressed. Her first time at Cooper's Hawk. Teenagers are not easily impressed/
We had a lovely evening with a group of five friends. Although there was a presentation going on in one room, and the restaurant was pretty busy, we had great service and good food. We enjoyed it all so much, I joined the wine club.
Once again I had a relaxing & enjoyable experience at one of my favorite restaurants!
Service was great. Wine was not as good as I expected for the price. I had surf and turf. Filet medallions were great. Grouper was not. I suggest red meat and wine.
Food was hot and so, so good...I just love the food here. So many great choices. Always hard to choose. Great wine. Definitely a favorite spot of mine!
We came on my wife’s birthday. I did not mark that it was a special event when making a reservation but thought it was surprising when no one told her Happy Birthday. Overall though the dinner and restaurant is one of our favorites and we enjoy everything about our experience 99% of the time. I am aware that if I had marked it as a special event maybe it would have been different. Thanks
Loved the food and atmosphere. Will definitely have to go back after my pregnancy to try all of the wine.
Fantastic as always!!! And server Julie is the best.
We love going to Coopershawk. It’s so nice to be able to make reservations for just our party of two, and we’ve never had to wait once we’ve shown up at the restaurant for our meal. The wait staff is excellent-they are all very skilled at their jobs and give each client the upmost attention. The food is excellent-whether you want a chopped salad, steak, seafood, or pasta-everything is superb.
The server said that I could get a dish without onions it turned out not to be true which was fine but then he acted like a kicked puppy all night. I still tipped him while I wish you would have just resumed with a good service he started with
The wine tasting area is worth the wait! You can try 8 different wines for $7 a person great to do with a group of friends. The food is out of this world, everyone at our table last night cleaned their plate and we ordered dessert. The waitress overheard us talking about our friend’s birthdays and she brought them both 2 truffles each on the House. They have a huge gluten free menu and even offered our friend gluten free bread at the beginning of the dinner. For the rest of us we were served pretzel bread. I also recommend becoming wine members:) they offer free wine samples at the door as well.
It was very loud in the area where we dined. The sangria was outstanding. The food was okay. Our server was very good. This may sound odd, but it was all too fast. Our appetizer came quickly and our entrees arrived before the appetizer was finished. We were inside the restaurant no more than 50 minutes. For a date night dinner out, it just felt rushed and therefore not all that special.
Great experience with excellent dining and service. Environment was conducive to conversation.
Love this place. Great food for the money. Many unique items on the menu.
Fantastic food and Ryan was an incredible waiter. Appreciate the offering of tasting wines before selecting a choice. Will definitely recommend to friends. Drove from West Lafayette Indiana because it is one of my wife's favorite restaurants
Pleasant meal on Easter Sunday. Wine braised short ribs were good - love Mary"s potatoes!
Shrimp and scallops risotto was rated as average.
We had a group of 8 people but the restaurant couldn't accommodate that many so we settled for a party of 3.
Well staffed for the Easter rush, although not super busy when we arrived at 1:45, which was a surprise. The food was also surprisingly not hot, and my chopped salad looked thrown together and served without dressing. Otherwise, the service and everything else was fine. I will return, I just feel like it was an off day.
As usual, as excellent meal. We started with my favorite appetizer - the Drunken Shrimp - shrimp wrapped in bacon cooked in a tequila lime sauce and then resting on guacamole. Totally delicious. My husband and daughter both had salads which they said were quite good. I had the Chicken Madeira -chicken in a decadent sauce that was contained mushrooms and was topped with fontina cheese. I did not see a lot of cheese but the sauce was so rich and delicious it did not matter. We also tried their Bellini which was very refreshing. So refreshing, I had two. Definitely recommend. Their menu is extensive - sometimes a bit too big-and everyone will find something they like.
We had a great time. I would suggest someone check the bathrooms more because both trash cans were over flowing in the women’s restroom. The wine tastes took a while to get to the table but overall it was a great experience and will definitely be back.
We love Cooper’s hawk. Food is always good & service is as well
Always good. Kind of noisy on weekend nights
Cooper’s Hawk is a terrific dining experience. It is a very unique restaurant and winery. I absolutely love this place. It is a great meeting place for all sorts of occasions. I would highly recommend everyone try the exquisite cuisine and the magnificent wine list.
Our waitress Jocelyn was excellent, and so was the service and friendliness. Noise level was very high. We enjoyed our visit.
Trent was exceptional
We went to CH for our daughter’s birthday. The food was great, and our server was awesome. Perfect in every way!
For a Sunday, when it wasn’t too busy, had hoped for better service. Server was pleasant, but not attentive in this upscale restaurant. Food was great
We always order the bruschetta, however when with friends we usually order a few different appetizers and share. The entrees are comfort food based, with interesting and upgraded twists. I had a pretzel and mustard crusted boneless pork chop, which mustard goes great with pork! Also had roasted root veggies
My spouse had the gnocci with braised beef, which was very good. We shared a bottle of the CH Lux Pinot Noir, it is a great red wine good body and smooth.
