Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - iDrive
Usually we have a great experience at Coopers Hawk, but today they seemed to be struggling a little.
We checked in at 8:10pm for our 8:30 reservation, but it took a while to get seated.
Ordered a bottle of wine along with 2 waters and an app to get started, and the bread took close to 20 min to get to the table followed by the appetizer close to 30min after ordering it.
The manager was truly nice and came to personally apologize and offered to comp the appetizer, but our entrees took another 20min before we saw them.
The server looked pretty backed up, so much that we got the impression she'd given up on us. She was taking care of a larger party and that seemed to be her priority. At the end of the day they get automatically grat added to their check.
We still tried to enjoy our date and tipped the server close to a 25% but definitely not the best experience.
Mediocre food and poor service. More of a bar than restaurant.
One of the best meals we’ve had in some time!
We had a very pleasant time! Our son was in town and we had a great dinner together. From the time we arrived we had great service. Our son had a bit of ahold up but they were able to save our reservation until he arrived and then very helpful and accommodating, food was delicious as was the wine and beer. We will recommend to friends.
Celebrated our daughter’s 11th birthday, before catching a flight. We had a great time. Food and service were fantastic!
Nice variety of food although menu was dirty and had sauce blobs in it; waitress was nice but seemed rushed eventhough we were there on time for our 9pm reservation and people were being seated after us... she even forgot to ask us for our drink orders initially... and we were all ready for a coke or glass of wine... overall satisfied though!
Tremendous discovery! Fresh made food, expansive menu, server allowed me to taste 2 wines before ordering a glass. Christina was an amazing server even with a packed house. No detail was missed. Would definitely return!
My husband and I love CH. I used to be a wine club member which is totally worth it but am 39 weeks pregnant and we just went for great food and a night out. The service was honestly excellent, the food was amazing and we will be back over and over again.
Amazing dining experience. Service , food and wine was excellent. Will definitely be back and would recommend all my friends to come.
Good wine, food and ambience.
Excellent food with great variety.
The best part was the wine tasting before dinner. Make sure you reserve time for that. The wines were surprisingly good and our pourer was very nice. Our service during dinner was good too. The menu is varied and everything is freshly prepared. The food wasn’t spectacular but we enjoyed our meal and were not rushed. Don’t forget to grab a truffle on your way out.
Yikes! As they say in Texas, this restaurant was “all hat and no cattle”. Despite trying really hard to be a winery-restaurant, their wine was terrible and the food was average at best. And we waited far too long for service and courses.
I was very unhappy with the salmon I ordered. It was very thin and dried out. The server took it away from me without asking if I wanted anything else to eat or a fresh plate. No manager came over to ask me my thoughts. It was taken off the check, but overall it was not handled properly. The service at the I-drive location is not as good as the Waterford Lakes location, which is a shame for those who live in the Dr. Phillips area.
Unfortunately the hostess was not accommodating when I asked to sit at a round table with 4 people. The restaurant was empty at 4pm and during the time we were there at no time did they have a need for the table we requested. She told us they were reserved and only at my insistence did she accommodate us.
Service was slow and our meals did not come out together.
We spent $200 for our meal and I would not select your restaurant again. Cold shoulder from staff and food got cold waiting.
Excellent food & wine. Ambience was perfect for a first date. Highly recommended.
The waiter was great,
Service was fast, decor is nice.. food was mediocre,
Everything was awesome. Made our Anniversary dinner great.
Our server was wonderful and did a great job cheering up our grumpy toddler and recognizing my wife’s birthday. The wood was wonderful as always.
My husband had the filet and said it was the best he’s ever had. The calamari was awesome. Red flights wine great too.
Great food and service- highly recommend!
Our family of 4 started the evening with a wine tasting. Two tasting menus were available with 8 selections each and were reasonably priced. There wasn't a wine that disliked by the entire group. The dinner menu offers very good variety. The meals were excellent. We tried each others dishes and all were liked by the group. The service was good. The waiter was knowledgeable about the entrees and wines and explained their preparations well. There was a time where he seemed to be missing, but he returned with a birthday desert for my wife. In all it was an excellent experience and would return again when in the area.
We love the food and wine, but our waitress, Marisa. She left one member of our party waiting quite awhile for his food twice. Very awkward when five of us had been served and the sixth is waiting almost 5 minutes for his food. This also happened a second time when dessert was served.
We visited the restaurant for our anniversary. We sat on the patio where it was quiet but inside it's quite loud. The seating is very open so there isn't a lot of options for a romantic setting inside. However, the food was delicious and we were quite pleased with the value. We will definitely be back.
Wonderful service food was amazing.. best wine just wished it was a little less noisy was very loud during my dinner hard to talk with my guests
I would recommend Cooper's Hawk I-Drive. But not on a Saturday night when there is a convention next door. I was not impressed with the fact that we had to wait 10 minutes past our reservation time, the excessive noise level, the so-so service and longer than usual wait time for our meal. I did not see management finesse in handling the large crowd, I saw apparent tweaking of OpenTable to increase the reservation load with proportional declines in service and food quality. When a server has to wait two (2) 4-toppers and a 10 person table, the two 4 toppers suffer. I love the wine here, and the steak was nicely cooked. However, the chef over-relied upon the salt shaker on the Filet medallions toppings. The Crab beignets and Mexican drunken shrimp were very good appetizers. And the S'mores dessert was excellent. The management here needs to learn that quality is better than quantity (crowd size), especially on weekends.
The dining room was very loud. Hard to have a conversation. The food and drinks were good. And the waitress was very nice, responsive and helpful. It's a good venue for an exciting night out, but not so much for a quiet dinner. Overall, as my first time there, it was good.
Everything was great, like always :)
We frequent this location all the time and I rate it highly, but this one day the food took too long, it was not the usual taste and last but not least it was cold! Service sad to say was mediocre.
It's a great place to gather with friends or to have dinner. However, if you visit on the weekends, be prepared to receive poor service. Whenever I visit on a weekend, the server ends up with many tables and forgets about mine. Our server didnt tend to us for over 40 minutes. Never came to fill our drinks, we wanted to order more wine and food, but she never came back to order our entrees, so we just ate appetizers. I told the manager and he didn't even apologize, he just said he'll find our waitress. Then a different one comes over and refills our drinks. Next thing I know, the original waitress brings us the bill! Never asked if we wanted food, desserts anything. My friends and I used to visit monthly because we are members of the wine club, but this poor service is becoming repetitive so we've begun looking for another place to unwind in. Perhaps hiding more staff would be beneficial. The food is great though.
I am a member and I’ve had dinner here lots of times but this time I wanted it to be extra special but it wasn’t. It was my birthday and I was very disappointed as to where they sat us which was by the noisy kitchen. I couldn’t hear my family and my friends speak. I specifically put in the notes for a special seating. One of the other waiters poured sauce on my daughters pashmina as she walked pass her from the kitchen and she didn’t apologize and walk away. We had to tell our server and a manager came and ask if she can pay for the dry cleaning which was nice. The server bought a dessert menu but didn’t acknowledge that it was my birthday and I get a free dessert. My friend had to tell her and when she bought it out she just placed it in front of me with no candle and I seen other tables celebrating birthdays and they had a candle in there dessert. I specifically added in the note when I made my reservations that it will be my birthday. The server then bought our checks but she didn’t ask if I wanted to use the $15 I received for my birthday, towards the food.
It was not a great experience and I was very disappointed!
The only thing that I would have changed was the noise level. Between the kitchen and the tasting bar, we couldn't even hear each other at our booth. Our server brought my perfectly paired wine put before my meal but I figured that was a marketing gimmick. I did order a second glass but the food was wonderful. I had the chicken Madeira and it was so savory and delicious.
Great service! Could have done without the Wine Club sales pitch!
The food and wine were fantastic. I rated the service low because they were clearly understaffed. Our server was very good, but it just seemed that everything was backed up and slow. This location is in a hotel that hosts conferences so expect it is like this a lot. I’m really glad we used Open Table to make a reservation!
Our waitor, Steven , was very knowledgeable and professional and friendly. He made the dining experience. We ate too much! Mexican Drunken Shrimp, always a favorite. I had the Jambalaya. Had some heat but quite good. Had some leftovers and had for lunch next day. My wife had Chicken Madeira, and as well had leftovers for lunch as well. A bonus.
We are members at CoopersHawk, we get the wine, and we love the deal they offer members, and as well you get to eat great food and have a nice wine. The flights are a fun way to go.
Wonderful. The restaurant is the best for orlando. Beautiful. Nice ambience.
Wade was fantastic he makes our experience every time can’t eaitvto come back to try something new
