Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Cincinnati Ratings and Reviews
On time seating. Nice and knowledgeable waitperson - Ashley - who we enjoyed. I ordered the filet - perfect - with wasabi butter mashed and Asian slaw - all delicious. Hubby ordered pork belly tostadas and wedge salad and loved it. We had the Cooper's Hawk red - always enjoyable with a meal. Glad to see they are not declining in quality as so many restaurants do. In fact, I think they are improving!
We had the worst service ever. When a server fails to listen it disrupts the entire evening. She didn’t listen to our orders, so the cocktails came long after we were seated. Some of the food was served cold because she didn’t hear us tell her how we wanted our orders to be brought to the table. And on and on.
Had a blast at the wine tasting however when dinner started we we're less than impressed they had no potatoes other than Fry's and the server actually tried to encourage us to order them with our steak and lobster luckly we go enough to know they usually are much better with service and food hopefully they learned a lesson tonight when u have reservations for 550 in one night u make plenty of food
Sadly disappointed and embarrassed.
Having pleasantly dined at Cooper's Hawk in Miami many times since it opened less than a year ago, I was super-excited to take my family (who was unfamiliar with the brand) to this location for our annual New Year's Eve dinner. Our server , Ryan, was Fantastic and tried his best to make up for the shortcomings of the dining experience. Our reservation was at 9:45pm. We were not seated until 10:15 after repeatedly inquiring about the delay and approving a round table rather than the reserved booth which was still occupied. The kitchen had been so busy throughout the evening that every selection we were interested in enjoying was no longer available thus forcing us to again revisit the menu to choose from a limited selection. Once my salmon entree was delivered, it was delivered without one of the side items which was listed on the menu! Instead of giving me yet another full menu item choice beforehand, Ryan offered an alternatIve which now required me to wait for it to be prepared and delivered. Frankly, I've never had such an awful experience at Cooper's Hawk and will likely give this location another chance, but definitely not for a special occasion.
Went on NYE and had a reservation. Got seated about 5 minutes after arriving, but were not waited on for 15 minutes. (No water, no acknowledgement). Had to go back to front to ask for someone to wait on us. Then, when ordering, they were out of first choice meal, so had to go with second choice - which they were out of too. When asked for bread, were told they were out of bread too. For the inconvenience the manager offered us ONE chocolate covered strawberry which was probably the smallest they had and a truffle that was not appetizing. Typically have good experiences and the wine is phenomenal, but definitely reconsidering this location when wanting to visit Cooper’s Hawk again.
Worst service I have ever experienced. It was New Year’s Eve so I expect some wait but it took us 30 mins to get our wine after ordering and it was 30 mins between the first person getting served food and the last person getting their food. Half of our dishes were cold. Completely unacceptable. I’ve been there several times and I’m appalled I took friends there, it was embarrassing. They were also out of several main menu items.
The restaurant was quite noisy when we first arrived as it was New Years Eve and they were packed. The bar area was noisy but fun and festive. We enjoyed our drinks at the bar area while waiting for our table. The food was tasty, and the server was especially knowledgeable and helpful. Our entire party of 5 enjoyed their meals.
My husband and I had two very nice experiences at Cooper's Hawk within the last year, but New Year's Eve was a let down by comparison. We invited a couple who had never been to this restaurant, and I do not imagine they will want to return. Our server was polite, but very slow. My friend never received his ordered soup. Two entrees were only luke warm when served, and a potato dish was cold on one of those plates. The other two meals were served hot. When we arrived we ordered drinks which took a very long time to arrive. The server offered to bring us more bread, but that was never served. No one ordered a second drink due to the slowness of service. I would still recommend this restaurant to friends, but not on a popular night out.
I took my husband for his birthday. We both had steak and lobster. Steak was ok. I’ve had better at Outback. Mine was a little undercooked. I ordered mine medium and it was closer to medium rare. Melted butter with the lobster would have been nice. Everything else was great. My chocolate martini was good. Salad and sides were good. Service was exceptional. Ambiance was nice. Lots of menu choices. We will go back. I would go back for the s’more dessert alone. That was amazing.
Our visit was for a birthday, and as usual we had great food and service. It was a Saturday evening and they were very busy, but our server remained attentive and helpful. We had a small bit of confusion with a second bottle of wine, but he made things right for us easily. My only complaint with this location is they try to force you into valet parking, which my husband doesn't care for. Half of the parking lot is saved for valet, which means we had to walk further on a cold night.
