Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Burr Ridge Ratings and Reviews
The food was fantastic but the service was not adequate. It seemed like they were short staffed but our server tried to be attentive. It took her a long time to return to our table for our orders-wine, appetizers, main course, and after dinner drinks. I told her I had an Open Table reward to apply to our check, she said she had to check with the manager. When she returned, she said the manager informed her they only use Open Table for reservations and do not redeem dining rewards. It was our anniversary and I opted for a coffee drink and when we received the bill we were charged $16!!! I normally am charged $6-$8 at other restaurants. We did tell her it was our anniversary and she gave us a chocolate covered strawberry and truffle which was very nice.
A friend and I were celebrating my Birthday. Of course we made reservations ahead of time; therefore, when we arrived we only had to wait a few moments. Our wait staff was awesome he was very knowledgeable about the specials as well as the menu. I ordered is gardiniera chicken it was awesome but my friend ordered the Dana's parmesan chicken and he didn't like it as much he stated he will order the gardiniera chicken next time. Our drinks were awesome as well. My Birthday dinner turned out to be very special. Thank you
I love Cooper's Hawk. We typically go to the Orland Park location because it is close to our home but they did not have any openings at the time we wanted so we drove to Burr Ridge. ALWAYS worth the drive. They are always pretty busy, especially weekends but the vibe is always warm and accommodating. I always make a reservation via Opentable when I go to Coop's though, no matter the night. It takes no time and confirms your seat without worrying about what the wait will be. Your in and at your table in no time. That's how you want to wine n' dine. B)
We always enjoy going to Cooper’s Hawk. Since we like to talk during dinner without raising our voices, we eat dinner early. It is quiet enough then but later it can get really loud, proof of its popularity. The host and wait staff are very friendly and helpful.
A---MAZING!!!! Atmosphere, service, authenticity, and more! I WISH one was in Atlanta (come to the Johns Creek/Duluth/Suwanee area where it's not saturated with restaurants but full of wine lovers!! I would LOVE to be a part of that happening!!! Loved every second!
It was a busy Valentine’s Day night. I had made a reservation 2 months prior requesting one of the half moon shaped booths. I was sat at a regular booth directly next to the kitchen. Our server wasnt very attenative for most of the night. The food was phenomenal and Cooper’s hawk is always a favorite. Busy nights are hit or miss on the level of service expectations.
I usually don’t write reviews and we come here often, but this particular visit was awesome. It was Valentine’s Day and i went to Cooper’s hawk with my husband and 6 year old. She came in crying because her hand got shut in her door. The ladies, those who were waiting on our table and those who weren’t, were amazing! One brought out a strawberry, another brought out an ice pack and get another a kiddie cocktail. Service was perfect!! Food was amazing! I was so grateful they helped my daughter instead of making me feel bad she was having a very loud 5 melt down!!
We made reservations several weeks prior to our dinner date. We specifically requested a booth on the upper level. When we arrived promptly for our reservation we were told that all the upper booths were taken. We questioned why since we were specific as to where we wanted to sit. Was told by the hostess that if someone chooses a different table than what they are offered you do not refuse! However to my knowledge it is considered a Reserved table not an open option. To make matters worse we got seated at a window which was very cold and there was a toddler misbehaving ! Not an enjoyable dinner. Also we don't put situations like this on social media.
Food for thought on your part.
I am a wine club member and it was my first time using my membership lots of perks! My husband and I had dinner but were sitted next to a rowdy group of older ladies ... I was hoping for a more quiet intimate dinner setting .., our server was amazing ... I just would've liked a more quiet dinner or sitted next to couples only
We went for Valentine's Day early and brought our 12 and 14 year old daughters with us for the dinner portion--we left our little kids, 8 and 5 years at home with a sitter. We sent them to Starbucks while we did our tasting. We were shocked to see 3 couples with LITTLE KIDS (as in well under 10 and as young as 3 or 4 climbing all over the place under the counter and behind coats and jumping up and down) partaking in tastings in the wine room. The wine tasting room is no place for little kids to play while their parents and other adults do a 30 + minute tasting. It rather ruined our tasting experience this time. Food was good as always, but it was a little salty overall. We both woke up parched throughout the evening.
Did a wine tasting and the server Meghan S was great. One of us likes a glass of water with the tasting and Meghan was quick to bring it and offered refills. She kept the wine tasting moving along but we did not feel rushed. She seemed to know exactly when we were ready for the next tasting .
We also had dinner. We had asked for a conversion friendly table and we were sat at a table in a small room off the bar , it was a perfect spot. Our server Allison T was very attentive to our requests. The dinner order came perfectly correct and the service was great. She kept drinks refilled and was prompt with requests and the bill but we did not feel rushed in any way. This was a truly enjoyable dinning experience. I am a long time wine club member and have been here many times and will be sure to return.
We were seated at a table right next to the kitchen. It was extremely loud and hectic. Not at all the relaxing experience we usually get or were looking for. A reservation. Made over a week in advance should get us a better spot than that. Our waiter was okay - slow. Took 2.5 hours for 4 of us for appetizers and dinner. We weren’t in any hurry but took over an hour just for our entrees to arrive after ordering.
Had very poor, slow service. Had to wave down another server and hostess at different times to get our server to come check on us. Food did not come as ordered, have been here before and had a great dining experience, but would not recommend because service is hit and miss.
This was my 1st time to Coopers Hawk and I really enjoyed it! This was for a business meeting and our table was (requested) to be on the energetic bar side which was upbeat and fun. TVs available but atmosphere still not too loud and good conversation was enjoyed by all. Wine was very nice (I had Viognier) and the most impressive tapas were brought out - Ahi Tuna Tacos, Potstickers and Calamari - the pretzel bread was also a "must have" according to my colleagues. Nothing disappointed! All delicious and very reasonable! Thank you!
p.s. Scott our server was timely but not overbearing! Great job!
