Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Burr Ridge Ratings and Reviews
Been to the Cooper's Hawk in Orland Park several times and it always met our expectations. Unfortunately the one in Burr Ridge was a disappointment, as far as the food. My friend and I had the short risotto, which we both thought it was terrible. We actually both joked and said it tasted like Chinese beef and rice. My husband had gnocchi carbonara and it was quite tasteless. My friend's husband had a steak, when we asked him how it was he said it was just ok.. The drinks , and desserts were good, but I just can't figure out why the one in Orland Park has much better food. I have had the short rib risotto at that location several times.. We didn't complain to our waitress who so accommodating and super nice.
I’ve always had great meals at Cooper’s hawk, but not this time. Placing hot flatbread on top of a cold salad, turns the dressing and lettuce into soup (see picture). I mentioned it to the waitress and she shrugged and did nothing. Very disappointing! You can see they put water at too much dressing on the salad, and with the added heat, it turned gross. I just wanted a new salad, but didn’t get one.
The food was very good - as usual. We were celebrating one party member's birthday, which we told our server when she asked if we were celebrating anything special. I also noted this when I made the reservation also. Other times when we've celebrated special occasions we were given a special mini-dessert (a truffle and chocolate covered strawberry for the honored guest) - this time nothing at all. A little disappointing, but otherwise very good.
My only complaint with my visit was the size of my meal. It was a special seafood pasta that was not even close to it value. I had to go home and eat something else. This has never happened before at your restraurant. It will be a long time before ordering another special.
Watress was great, wine is always good, and it was a fun time. Don’t be cheap on the quantity of food.
Met up with some longtime friends/co-workers. We took forever get settled, just catching up and chatting. Our server was very patient, and did not try to get us moving on ordering before we were ready. Each dish we ordered was delicious. no complaints. we will definitely meet there again.
Took 45 mins to get bread at our table. It actually came out with our appetizers. We ordered our meals and placed to-go orders as well (our husbands stayed home) and both came to us wrong in some way. Both brought in one bag forcing us to ask for another from our server leaving us feeling like we were bothering her. She was busy, probably given too many tables.... regardless we shouldn’t be told she has to go do something else and will be back.
The parking is horrible! Didn’t realize there was valet until we walked in because there is one sign only on the side street that barely anyone uses.
It was just an ok experience compared to the Naperville location.
The service was slow and we had to find our own silverware when the dessert came and we never got water refills throughout the dinner. Regular drinks were empty and not asked if we wanted another. After getting the dessert it was burnt in the middle of the cookie.
I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fine blend of food and wine that can easily be complimented. Using this app is helpful, since simply walking through the door on a Friday night will result in an hour wait.
Although, if waiting isn't a problem, the entry has a bar and gift assortment that'll keep you busy. All together...the babe and I were pleased.
Thanks to our server, she was very helpful.
Food was delicious as usual. We tried the house made meatballs for an appetizer. That was great. We also ordered the cheeseburger and squash ravioli with lobster, shrimp and scallops. All fantastic. Plus Beth was our server and she was very personable and fast service.
I have been there several times with friends, the food and ambiance has always been excellent, they accommodate all our requests,we never feel rushed to leave, all in all a truly pleasant experience we hope it remains as is forever thank you Coopers Hawk for a delightful luncheon experience
Our food was nice and my one complaint is our service was very slow and our server just didn't care. We asked several people, also serving, for help and they were very nice and complied. Just a very disappointing outcome as I have really been noticing an improvement in over all food quality and wine lately and come back to Coopers Hawk. Brought a friend and she was not impressed.
Cooper's Hawk Burr Ridge was extremely well run and they put service first, PERIOD. Being able to try many different wines from the barrel and also different regions of the world was awesome. It was refreshing to see a wait staff who was genuinely interested in the quality of our experience. Cheers to the servers!
At all locations Cooper Hawk has great food and the wine is good as well. Due to the popularity the service takes away from the experience. We had a reservation and had to wait maybe a half hour or more. No big deal but as we were talking to friends we were told by the hostess rudely and quite frankly immaturely to move out of the way as she showed others to tables. There was no room to move. When we were seated we barely saw the waitress. She was way too busy and also had to bus tables. Seems like a few bus staff could have helped the wait staff staff perform better. I have been going out to restaurants frequently for over 40 years and have never made a review. Been to Cooper’s Hawk for around ten years or more. Have gone there two or three time in the past few months and has similar experiences. Recently joined their club because my wife likes the sparkling. Would not go back there on the weekend if at all even though I like the food. Service seems to get worse. Seems like the management can’t handle the success.
The first time my wife and I ate here it was easily 5 stars across the board! Service, food, and the wine were all completely amazing. The server was one of the best I have ever had. He gave us both a flight of tastings before we made a wine selection and he was constantly made sure we were very well taken care for the entire experience. He talked to us for awhile, answered all our questions, and made sure our food was perfect. He really worked hard. The steak I had ordered was a perfect med. rare and the wine he suggested for that steak was perfect.
Unfortunately, this time was vastly different. It was like a completely different place. My wife and I brought our parents here since we had such an amazing experience the first time. First of all, the service was very slow. After over a half hour after sitting down the server finally came over. The server did not explain anything to my parents and in-laws for being their first time there and just simply took our order. She acted like she was very annoyed when my mom had a question about the wine. We did not get to sample any wines, like our first experience. The food mediocre at best, being way too over done (over-cooked) and cold when brought to us. Then it took forever to get and pay for the bill at the end. This was an unfortunate experience and I was very embarrassed for speaking so highly of this place to my family. I felt terrible they had such a bad experience. We will not be coming back...well maybe JUST for the wine, the wine here is awesome!
