Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Burr Ridge
Love this place
Very disappointed in our waitstaff. We dined for a very early lunch so the restaurant was almost empty. Our server still managed to confuse our order, and also did not seem very well-versed in food allergies (which we thought Cooper's Hawk was known for doing so well). At the end of our meal I had to ask twice for the chocolate covered strawberries my daughters were supposed to receive with their kids' meals.
A birthday celebration was also noted on our reservation and was not acknowledged by anyone in the restaurant. Definitely a lackluster experience from what we used to know from our past experiences at Cooper's Hawk.
Sami was absolutely great server. She was knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive. We have not visited Cooper’s Hawk in a couple years. Overall it was an A+ experience,
The food was only ok and every time we have been there in the past they have brought us some way to celebrate but this time there was nothing. I had a few questions about the wine because I was debating 2. The server next to us brought their table samples but we were never offered.
Both meals were cooked wrong. Calamari has so much breading you hardly get any meat out if it
Very good, food was delicious.
First time at this restaurant. Couldn’t have been more pleased. Food and drinks were fantastic. Definitely will be returning.
Great server. Didn’t rush us.
My husband’s meal came first, and our server apologized that my meal would be right out. Ten minutes later my meal came out, and husband’s meal was cold.
You know it was not a good night when during the course of the meal, your server apologized a total of three times!
Excellent food. Our server Pat was outstanding.
Birthday date with husband - awesome service
The jambalaya was excellent. It went downhill from there. I had the giardinera chicken. Overall it was very salty. I was very dissatisfied with the service. The server had an attitude and I felt pressured to give an immediate drink order after just sitting down. Her presence was overbearing through the entire meal and when she brought my entree I felt like it was tossed in front of me. At the end, she brought a different tables check. Then I couldn’t find her to get the correct one. The staff at this restaurant have a habit of getting things right the first time. Especially true with their carry-out service. Not high on my list to dine again.
Was there on a Monday night wasn’t crowded at all, it took over 1 hour to get our food. Then my son had the medallions and asked for rare and they were well done. Server was very apologetic and had manager come over and gave my son a free dessert
The service was slow and non-existent. From service staff, to bar staff. Had to approach the podium and ask for help at the truffle spot. Staff was lingering and in dialogue.
First time @ Cooper's Hawk and it will not be the last. Excellent service from Scott.
Very good , looking forward to going back , server was great also
Upon arriving we were told there was a thirty to forty-five minute wait even with a reservation by a woman at the hostess stand. Who then claimed that she had just got there and had no idea what was going on. After pointing out the purpose of a reservation was to reserve a table to avoid waiting a long period of time she got another Hostess involved. This other hostess then told us to wait a few minutes while they prepared the table and we were promptly seated. Our server “Frank” saved the night with great service and fantastic recommendations.
We love this Cooper's Hawk restaurant. We just became wine members and the wine, food, and atmosphere, and service is wonderful! Thank you for making our night so special.
The service was wonderful and we got our food in a reasonable amount of time. We also received great service in the wine tasting room. I marked a star down for the food because our steak was heavily charred on the outside and a little undercooked on the inside. I also marked one star down for noise level because there were several servers dropping and breaking plates and glasses. We were also seated right next to the kitchen which was incredibly noisy. Overall experience, I was pleased as usual.
Great place for food and service
Great food and service
Our thanksgiving plated meals were superb and our service was outstanding. hot food was hot and on time. Our server, was efficient friendly and greatly contributed to the evening. Fantastic difference between last couple of years when entire restaurant seemed overwhelmed. we're long time club members, but this was exceptional.
Cooper’s Hawk has a nice Thanksgiving meal. I prefer plain food without overwhelming herbs, etc. and this fits the bill.
The restaurant wasn’t crowded, but the service seemed a bit scattered. I asked for extra gravy with my meal and it arrived 15 minutes after the main plate. Also, I was seated in a booth right outside their semi-open kitchen, so I could hear all that noise as well as the diners near me. Not quite the soothing holiday meal I’d hoped for. Still, they are one of the nicest options for me for Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving Dinner was excellent
This is the 3rd time I've been here and each time I've ordered something different. Trying to sample different items. We have always ordered the Thai lettuce wraps and have never been disappointed. Very delicious.
The wine handler at the wine bar didn't seem knowledgable. Although sweet and polite, she was a little unattentive. The restaurant server, however, was good and timely with service.
Amazing place, great food, great wine vibrant atmosphere!
Long wait to be seated, even with reservation. The hostess was excellent and did her best. It just appeared to us that they didn’t have enough staff to handle the beginning of the holiday rush. The food was good. Th wine was good.
CH is usually very consistent and lived up to it. We were however in the outer room that was a little too cool for all four of us. Just ask for the inside rooms if you’re concerned. They are always accommodating to us.
Our server Amy was amazing. We normally have a great time at Cooper's Hawk, but sometimes we have had less than stellar service. I wish all servers were like Amy. At first we were kinda of put into the corner which we always joke is where they have the newer waitstaff start, but this was not the case that night. Amy was friendly and personable. She had the right balance of making sure we had everything and not hovering. She knew the menu and wine really well and just added to the overall good experience.
Food and wine always great. When you go prime time on a weekend the service gets a little iffy. Had to ask for extra silverware and status of our drinks a few times. And because they are at capacity we didn’t get one of nicer booths or tables. That’s the risk you take on the weekends but the food was excellent!
Our Coopers Hawk experience was terrific. One of our guests has celiacs disease and a milk allergy. The attention to detail by our server to assure her a safe and healthy meal was very appreciated. The food was delicious.
Service wasn’t it’s usual amazing level
Everything was great. I only gave the service 4 stars because our waitress was not very friendly & a little overwhelming. Other than that the food was delicious & didn’t disappoint.
Lisa Marie was a fantastic waitress...always prompt and a real joy to speak with between courses. This has always been and continues to be one our favorite restaurants in the area Always an enjoyable and unhurried repast. If you are still wondering if you should go there for a memorable dining experience, I would recommend that you run there asap! Best to make reservations if possible, but they always seem very accommodating to walk-ins.
Always a great experience good food and great service
Service was terrible
No silverware to eat our food had to ask.
Had to ask for refreshments.
Coffee was cold.
Never used my rewards on my card I had to request for them to be used.
Cooper's Hawk is such a fun place with delicious food. We love dining here!
Cooper's Hawk is our go-to restaurant. Never a bad meal (which my husband mentioned before this dinner); however, this last visit was a minor disappointment. The wine, service, dessert was great, but the main course was not up to par. I ordered the trio of medallions which are usually excellent. This time all 3 of the medallions had some hard fat/cartilage (??) in each piece. I had to spit out a bite from the first 2 medallions so made sure to check the 3rd before taking a bite. Thankfully I found the bad spot in the 3rd
one before eating it. I also substituted the asparagus for broccoli. The broccoli is usually very good but this time it was charred and dry and I couldn't eat it. Charred is ok if it's cooked through and steamed a bit but this was just like taking a stale piece and burning it. I didn't want to complain at the restaurant because I was having a great time with our friends. So I hope this is just a fluke and not a sign of things to come since we have reservations next month.
