Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Brookfield Ratings and Reviews
We were not in a hurry but it took over 30 min after our reservation to be seated. Not impressed with communication on when to be seated as it is by text so I have to keep watching my phone?! Would be better to have light up buttons or something to show when table is ready.
While the food and wine were very very good, especially the November specials, our trip was slightly marred by the mishandling of our reservation.
We arrived early for a wine tasting which we finished right on time and proceeded to confirm our reservation . We were told we would be texted when a table opened up. However after 30min of waiting and watching people walk in and be immediately seated, we began getting frustrated. We went and asked about our reservation. We were told we never checked in.
After explaining our situation we were seated immediately, and someone must've told the service to be good to us since our food came our astonishingly fast.
We had a great time regardless of the mishap and will be back, so it's just a shame I can't give an all glowing review of our experience this time around.
It was our first time here. We were seated at our reservatiin time. Waitress was great, she went over the menu and how things are prepared. She was outstanding. It is very noisy in the restaurant. Tables are pretty close together. Food was great. Plenty of time between appetizer and entree. I would definitely come back.
food was outstanding. I had the fish special, grouper on a bed of rice with fresh asparagus. Great flavor.
Server talked very low and quiet. Difficult to hear him. Forgetful. We had to ask for the wine of the day sample and a gluten free menu after we told him that we couldn't have gluten.
Service is usually much better. Will still come back because everything else was terrific.
We have been to Cooper’s Hawk many times and are never disappointed in the food or service. This particular visit found the noise level to be far more than usual. I’m thinking it was because we were seated next to a larger group and one of the side rooms that also accommodates many people. It did not diminish our dining experience, just made it harder to hear each other.
Really enjoyed Cooperhawk again. We did the wine tasting before dinner and then dinner was excellent. Service was great and we had a very relaxing time.
This is a restaurant that wants you to enjoy the experience so to me, this is not a quick bite type place.
Went there on a Sunday afternoon and it was fairly crowded (glad we made reservations). Service provided by Scott was excellent. We started with the Asian pork belly tostadas, crab and lobster bisque soup and the tortilla soup. The pork belly was amazing and the bisque was very good. We were a little disappointed in the tortilla soup as it was rather bland. The entrees were the chicken Madeira and the trio of medallions. The chicken was very tender and moist, and the sauce was delicious. The medallions were cooked perfectly to my request and very flavorful. My only comment on the trio would be that the horseradish on one of the medallions is very potent and stronger than either of my dining companions enjoyed (about at my limit too). We tried the house sweet red and were very pleased. Will definitely be back and will try to do a wine tasting as well.
The waiter started to become distant as everyone started to leave. Asked for a bottle of wine and only got a glass. Food was great! Terrible seating though. They put us right up against the kitchen where it was loud, and the table to our left was so close that whenever someone would walk by they would brush up against our table or theirs. Good place though, would try again.
The service was excellent. The food was not good and the portions were very small. I am six four and 225 lbs . I had the special butternut squash and lobster ravioli. The serving should have been double. The lobster was over cooked and there was only four small pieces of lobster and four very small pieces of sallops. Not a good value for the money. There were only four small raviolis and they were tough. Not a good value for $23.00. I can buy 200 raviolis at Costco for $23.00 and they are by far superior to what I had. Will not eat there again.
We came for the lunch to have the special item of the month, which was the cashew crusted grouper. We were there for a late lunch around 2:00 so it was not very crowded. We normally get pretty good service here and this was no exception. We got a bottle of the wine of the month, a reisling chenin blanc. Normally we a re wine drinkers, but this paired very well with the food and was a pretty good wine. The grouper was excellent, but at $17.99 a bit pricey. Overall a very good meal at one of our favorite restaurants.
The service was a bit slow....not the server, but the food coming out. Took quite a long time. Also, the menu should state what ingredients are in the food, especially allergens. I couldn't eat our appetizer and was a waste of $$. Also, I had to change vodka in a drink due to an allergy. Just would've been nice to know that the drink would be $2+ more. Not a super big deal, but should've been made aware of it.
From wine tasting to dessert the service and experience at Cooper's Hawk BRKFD was INCREDIBLE! We were treated like royalty at this location. The wine tasting that we indulged in was excellent and our server was very knowledgeable and willing to substitute certain wines out for picky drinkers! Even with some other difficult guests around us the staff always had a smile on their faces and kept their cool. Once dinner started our waitress helped us sort through the extensive menu and gave great advice which aided my whole party to find the best options that matched their personal palettes. When one of our appetizers was a little behind the other dishes the manager came over promptly to apologize for the delay and comped the dish which was very thoughtful and just added to the overall exceptional service. The food was delicious and cooked wonderfully! I cannot say enough great things about this location and the wonderful staff that are working there! Will definitely be back for more delicious dinners and special occasions! Thank you for the fabulous night.
My wife and I are into the food part of dining out and it seems like wine is a primary purpose someone would go here. It was loud and actually cold(I wore a light jacket during the entire meal). We were given a gift card we used for this first visit and plan to give the unused portion to a friend that likes to drink wine.
