Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Arlington Heights
Everything was great. We ordered apps and the portions were very generous!
Terrible service, took 30 minutes just to order an appetizer. Food took another 30 minutes to order. Water glasses were empty on the table, had to flag down waitress to get them refilled.
This restaurant is simply way too noisy. The noise level was incredibly loud. Figure out a way to make the restaurant less noisy & it will be a much better experience.
Very noisy. And our waitress was very slow. Food was excellent as always
We always have a fantastic service there and enjoy the food and the wine.
Service was well-timed and friendly, wine was excellent as usual. My wife's steak was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth. My Alaskan halibut and well matched sides were outstanding, the best I have had outside of Alaska. The shared dessert was a great finish. It was a bit loud in the dining room. Overall experience was excellent. Would recommend to a friend.
The food and service is always amazing! First time trying the Limoncello Sangria! It's so refreshing and not sweet! The best lemonade! Can't wait to come back to have some again this weekend!
The food was really good and our experience overall was good. However, our server was in a huge hurry to take away our plates and clean up the table even thought we weren’t finished with our food... the place was half empty, yet we felt like we needed to leave since there was such a huge rush to take our dishes away.
Everything about the experience was great. Had a great time for my birthday. Only down side was they were out of the sparkling wines that I enjoy.
Must have been an off night. Sat to eat around 8:30 or so, not really too crowded at that time but we barely saw our server (although she was nice when we did) had a long wait to order apps, had a issue getting silverware and napkins for the whole table, never got to order more wine or even our dinner. Unfortunately we left.
The food was delicious and the service was Great as always!
Very noisy, had difficulty having a conversation. Service was slow, took forever to get our bottle of wine and other beverages. Server always seemed rushed. Not the usual pleasant dining experience.
Excellent food, service and of course, wine. Definitely try the Maui Shrimp. It was crispy and delicious. You have to end your meal with the banofee dessert. It is delectable! Only complaint, albeit a minor one, it was extremely loud in the room we were in and very hard to converse above the noise level.
Always a great experience.
I would and have dined here and Barrington Arboretum many times. Disappointed by the removal of mustard and pretzel crusted tenderloin and one person in our party ordered the grilled cheese with tomato soup and you were out of it. Really at 6PM on a Friday night.
Excellent service, delicious food, tasty wine. A loved evening.
Andy our waiter was awesome
This is always one of our favorite restaurants we love the menu and the service is outstanding
Food and wine was good but had issue with mashed potatoes and vegetables not being hot like the rest of the dish. Seems like tha happens a lot there.
Delicious Brussels sprouts and ahi tuna. The best around!
Celebrating our 32nd wedding anniversary
And starting our new wine membership
great food... and awesome wine selection...do a wine tasting before your dinner reservations so you know what wines you would like with dinner
We were seated on an aisle, restaurant was very loud, perhaps our server was overbooked but service was slow, food was good but not better than others, nothing special about this place.
All was good but the bar has awful acoustics! I swear it is the loudest bar anywhere. Even when it is not crowded!!
Table wasn’t ready then sat as at a sopping wet table. Special fish had no taste and so noisy couldn’t hear each other at our table for 5. Other than that everything else was good!
Excellent food and excellent service, as usual. We enjoyed our dinner with a bottle of wine. Excellent restaurant. Just a tad on the noisy side, but they were busy so we understood.
The food , service , wine was great. We will be back.
We had two complaints. Despite our reservation we had to wait over 15 minutes for our table. The gift shop is cheesy and the dining room is very noisy. BUT the food was great! We especially liked the Brussels sprouts and the sweet shrimp dishes on the appetizer menu and the chopped salad was excellent. The waiter was delightful and recommended the halibut, which my son thought was delicious.
Great service good food. Pleasant staff. Oh and yes, the wine!
Our waiter was great. We sat at our table for quite a while and never felt rushed. The staff were all wonderful.
We love it there. This is our go-to restaurant for great wine, food, and service!
It was freezing in there. We were both extremely cold. I mentioned that I was there to the girls in the pool this morning, and one said, "I won't go there any more. It's way too cold". I think you have a problem. Also, noise level wasn't good.
I brought family from out of town, we were a party of 5 & was the first bad experience ever. Our server was horrible, took her 45 minutes to take our order. She took away my mom's silverware & we needed to ask twice for my dad's ice tea. I needed to tell the server three times to use my thank you bottles & $25 thank you gift. She kept asking what card to use for the thank you (my husband & I are both members), I dont know what cards have what, she should know that. After dinner arrived she never checked on us & I had to flag her down to ask for our check.
Two family members ordered the chicken parm & said it was not worth it, quality was poor. It was soaked in oil & they would not order again. Interesting enough, a friend over the weekend went to the Naperville location & ordered the chicken parm & said it was all oil & wouldn't go back.
I love Cooper's & will be back, these things happen, just too bad it was with out of town family. Maybe our server was overwhelmed with other tables or she was new & the chef was just have an off day.
We had a 7:00 PM reservation, arrived with all members of our party at 6:56, and weren’t seated until 7:19, even though other parties including a large party who arrived after we did were seated before we were. One member of our party had serious dietary restrictions that were clearly not met based on immediate symptoms. Our server didn’t take our order for 10 minutes and missed a a couple of items. It’s not entirely her fault as she seemed to have several large tables.
Not a great experience and not consistent with my experience with Cooper’s Hawk.
We have been coming every month for 3+ years and this was some of the worst service we've had. One of our appetizers had to be tracked down and we waited 45 minutes to even order our food. When we got it, our chicken was tough and rubbery. I had a birthday plate delivered and it was the smallest strawberry I have ever seen. We took pictures of it to laugh.
We will come back and I love it and hoping it's just a bad night.
We have been here dozens of times and have never had such a horrible experience. First everything we ordered took over 40 minutes to come out. Then we asked for our meal to come on 2 plates and they got that wrong. We brought friends who never been to Cooper’s hawk before and this was not a good showing. They said they probably won’t return.
Very noisy. Food is not made to order. We ordered and 5 min later our food was in front of us. Entrees came before finishing soup. Very busy so they try to turn the tables around fast. Food was average.
Always an enjoyable experience, we were seated prompted by friendly staff. Service was prompt and we received our orders in a reasonable amount of time, especially considering that the restaurant was very busy. The restaurant can be a bit noisy when busy but not excessively so. Food was good, above average, and reasonably priced. Shared a bottle of Barbera... nice red. Overall a four- to five-star lunch.
To be honest, we were there a few weeks ago and it was wonderful. This time around we were very disappointed. Service was horrible in the wine tasting part. It appeared they were short staffed. Two wines tasted like they were watered down. All four of us tasted them and agreed it had to be watered down. Then when it was time to be seated, the hostess was going to put us at a table in the middle of a walkway with a post in the way. There was also very little room to sit as the table next to it had large men whose chairs encroached into the space of the table we were being seated at. I immediately asked to be taken to another table, which we were. Our food was ok, not as good as last time and definitely not worth the price. My skirt steak was ordered medium rare and was served to me was not only well done but burnt. Our server still served it to me, but came back to check because he thought it was burnt. They did make another one for me and discounted our bill. However, it should have never been served because it was obviously burnt. We had out of town guests that we took here and we were very embarrassed with our recommendation. Not sure we will return. They did say they will not be visiting again as they have had better steaks at numerous other places.
