Cooperage Inn Restaurant
The name "Cooperage Inn" comes from the craft of coopering, which goes back a few centuries, when it was the major method of packaging. We are located in the Long Island Wine region. Wine makers have always relied on the skills of the Village Cooper to store and age their wines.
We've eaten here before and the food has never disappointed. The staff is extremely helpful. It can get crowded I suggest making reservation.
Best Food, service and atmosphere! Always a Must to visit.
We are regular diners at Cooperage Inn for 13 years and have never been disappointed with the food or the service.
We were a large party and it was a holiday . Given that , the service and food were excellent!
Unfortunately this was the first time I experienced a tough steak. It's usually very good.
We arrived at our reservation time.......after a pleasant greeting we were seated.... our waitress Kerry was very pleasant and attentive without being over whelming which Is a big plus for me.....our dinners were served within a very acceptable time frame......two of us had the Lamb Osso Buco at the waitress suggestion and weren’t disappointed.......we also had the 1/2 chicken special and the Hanger Steak...... also very good.....the portions were quite adequate.....not too much and not too little which again is perfect for me.....the prices were also a very good value......we walked out after a very pleasant experience and will definitely return......only downside is that it is quite dark inside.....so know how to use your cell phone flashlight.......but don’t let that stop you from trying this quaint Baiting Hollow eatery
Great food and music as always!
My wife and I had our valentines date there. Great service thanks to gabby our server. The food was very nice to look at and taste good also. Perfect place for date night out with the wife. A bit expensive but the good food and good company it’s worth it. Very happy with experience.
Very cozy, enjoyed our night. Food was good value. Will definitely return. Wine list is very weak.
Valentine’s Day dinner was perfect! Will do it again next year!
Excellent experience. Food and drinks were great. No Complaints.
My husband and I are never disappointed at Cooperage Inn from the time you walk in and are greeted with a smile and seated you already ready feel at home. The food is delicious and beautifully presented it is our favorite restaurant to go to. I highly recommend the Cooperage Inn!!!
Went for Valentine’s Day dinner with 4 couples. Food and service were excellent. This is not the first time we dined at the Cooperage Inn. Highly recommended, reservations a must for weekends.
Service and food was excellent as always. Never disappointed.
Cooperage is one of our favorite restaurants on the North Fork. Food is consistently delicious. Presentation is tops too. Servers are helpful and cheerful. Best ambience of all restaurants.
Took my sister for a Valentine's Day birthday lunch. She had a wonderful pork chop special and I had the paella. Speedy yet relaxed service. Friendly but efficient all the way around. Food was excellent, large portions very pretty. Would definitely go again. It's worth the ride out.
The food quality was more like a catering hall than a nice restaurant.
The Cooperage Inn was absolutely fabulous. The girl who checked us in for our reservation was extremely friendly and helpful. I was running late for my reservation and called to let them know. They advised me that after 2pm we wouldn’t be seated for brunch, which I was okay with and understood. However, the host did seat us for brunch when we got there slightly passed 2 and it was very much appreciated. There were 5 of us and my Aunt came from NJ to go there with us. It couldn’t have been a better experience.
The Cooperage for brunch as always was wonderful. The selection and quality is amazing! Thanks for a wonderful experience :).
Always my favorite ♥️ From the food to the staff to the desserts
We were sat at a table for two, but we requested a larger table. We weren't given it because the tables may be used. They weren't. The food was good, but I can' t say great. They were catering a large group that were very noisy. The group was in a larger room where the doors should have been closed. I feel the Cooperage is not the same as it used to be.
Four out of five were very happy with our meals. My husband’s order the catch of the day. It was supposed to be broiled but it was fried. It was over cooked and very dry. So he was disappointed. Everyone else was satisfied with their dinner.
Our server was very attentive. They sat us down right away. Food was excellent. Will definitely go back. Have been there for brunch and enjoyed it.
Great meal at Cooperage. We arrived early for our 6:30 reservation, but were seated right away. Very attentive service from Adam. Restaurant was busy, but even the busboys are wired for communication, so service was seamless. In and out in an hour - 15, but could have lingered if we wanted... no pressure to vacate the table. All in all a great dining experience, great food, great service.
Had an excellent first time experience at this lovely restaurant.
We were promptly seated. Our server Danielle was pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu offerings. Salmon presentation was well done, perfectly prepared and delicious. Key Lime pie lived up to the reviews of others.
The venue is large but the table spacing permits quiet conversation. Reservations are a must
Definitely will return. Nice club-like atmosphere in spite of the size of the restaurant.
The service was excellent, the food was ok always enjoy going there. Will go again
Cooperage Inn is always a favorite of ours. The food is always good and the wait staff very nice. The dining room by the bar many times has a musician playing on the weekends which we really enjoy. The other dining rooms are comfortable and make for a relaxing evening with friends and family. And, there are always groups there of friends and families. You can't go wrong eating at Cooperage Inn.
Everything was very good. The food, service, atmosphere were all excellent. My only small complaint, is that the appetizer, entree, and dessert came out too fast. We were home in an hour.
We had an outstanding meal at the Cooperage Inn. The appetizer with the sweet potato and topping was delicious and the crab cake was full of crab and very little of the filler stuff. Then we both had the boneless braised short rib for dinner. It melted in our mouths. That was the most delicious meal we have every eaten and that says a lot since we are in our late 50's. Cheers to the chef. Can't wait to have it again.
Amazing food. Amazing service. Fireplace was a bonus! Wonderful Anniversary dinner. Thank you!
Excellent food & service!! Would highly recommend
Good food for good price
Service was excellent. We loved the live music in the dining room!
the vegan and vegetarian options on the fixed price menu where not there. how ever the waitstaff where out standing. Was able to receive a vegan meal after requesting it.
We have been there many times. This was my birthday. I felt like a queen. The food is perfection. Couples night is a bargain.
Met friends for lunch. All had the pre fixe menu - good value. We were there on a very rainy day, so not crowded, not noisy. Will go again.
Great time visiting with friends. Good food service outstanding, thank you Kathleen, took advantage of the price fixe will be back again
Great food, great service, what else could you ask for???
I have eaten at the Cooperage Inn many, many times. This time we were there to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday. All four of us ordered from the Prix fix menu where you got an appetizer, entree, and dessert and coffee/tea for $29.00: a good deal.
You have to ask for bread or it is not brought to the table. I also requested plain butter as I am not a fan of their herbed butter.
Appetizers: Three of us had the baked clams which were just okay. I would not order them again as they were not very flavorful and were too soggy. My husband ordered the crab cakes which he liked.
Entree: 2 of us ordered the Mahi Mahi, the Catch of the Day which was okay, not great. The much-touted garlic mashed potatoes were, again, just okay. Nothing to write home about. I had the chicken franchise which was very disappointing. Usually, the franchise is a thin cutlet: this order was a thick chicken breast smothered in some type of sauce which masqueraded as Francaise sauce. Not good. The fourth in our party ordered the pork chop and he is still talking about how wonderful it was, so at least one of us had a good meal.
Dessert: Key Lime Pie was the winner here, with the Coconut Creme Pie coming in second. My husband had some type of chocolate mousse pie which he was not crazy about.
Overall: disappointing. The food is usually good, but on this visit, it was not. In fact, I had reservations at night for a week later which I canceled because the people we were dining with are foodies and I would hesitate to bring them to a place that was mediocre at best.
