Excellent! Outstanding! Great Food! Excellent Service! My customers loved it and said they will definitely come back. They said they loved it at least 5 times. I made a great choice in selecting it for lunch and they were WOWED!
The food and ambiance are both pretty good. We were seated right by the fireplace which was nice. My wife had the salmon and it was very good. I got the game hen and quite honestly it was about as good as something I'd cook up at home in my oven. Really nothing special.
The service was another story. While our server was very polite and friendly, he was missing in action most of the evening. One of the other guys cleared our plates and took my silverware. When the server brought out the dinners, he didn't bring me any new fork/knife so I asked another guy to bring me some. He said he would, then disappeared and never returned. I had to steal some from a nearby empty table. Anyway, long story short, the service was just "ok".
Couldn't read menu or see my chicken to cut, ate bones. But a nice, upscale feeling to restaurant. Busboys good at first, then always passing table without checking: waitress caught that and was excellent.
Went here for the first time with a corporate group and everything was fantastic - the servers were great and the appetizers provided were very yummy. Great ambiance.
So I decided to try it for lunch - not as impressed. Service was overall just on the slow side - from being greeted to each step of our meal just took longer than I would expect for lunch. Our drink orders were incorrect. The food was good but overall not a great value. My steak was slightly overcooked. The waters and drinks were very quickly refilled by the waitstaff but our server was confused and behind. It was a very nice atmosphere and would be a very impressive place to bring clients if you had business to discuss in between courses but for a quicker business lunch I wouldn't recommend. Overall for the price point I expected better service.
We always have a good time and a great meal at Cool River. The ambience, the service, the food...all excellent. Thank you, Greg, for taking such good care of us!
Great food, great atmosphere, fun band and festive decor. What a find! Will definitely go back. Already recommended it to friends
The Jim Beam Steak is amazing. Everything from the salad to dessert was such an enjoyable meal. The service was great. The never missed a beat. I would recommend Cool River to all my friends.
First time to the restaurant - NYE 2015. Impressed with the food selection, excellent wait staff.
We went for my husband's birthday. The staff was accommodating, friendly and on task. My husband said it was the best filet he has had in Denver which is saying a lot as we have been to some high end steak places. I had the pasta dish and it was so-so and not really worth 20+ dollars. The steak is priced about right but the menu overall is overpriced. The ambiance is great!
We ordered two venison and one rack of barbecue ribs. We ordered it medium rare and both came well done there is no excuse if you are a restaurant that has meat on the menu to serve overdone meat when it was not ask for - 101 chef school - this was a Christmas Eve dinner very very very very disappointed. The barbecued ribs did not seem to be cooked long enough - they were not very tender. We were seated upstairs -first booth - there's just no ambience up there and for the pricing that we paid definitely would not go back there again.
Excellent food and service by all of the staff. The hostess was on the spot and a great choice of food and drinks.
This was our end of the year appreciation lunch for employees in my Metering Tech department. they enjoyed the choices and the desserts. Friendly service was appreciated.
The 1st time I did not make a dinner in many years. It was just Myself, My Husband and my Son. The service was great, the food nice selection and very good. I think well will make it a tradition. Can't wait to make an evening trip for dinner to check out the regular menu. Thanks to the staff and our waiter.
This is the only place I could find that serves ham on Thanksgiving. The trimmings were good as well.
I've always enjoyed my meals at Cool River and this one was no exception. The staff is always attentive and friendly and the food has been consistently good. The wine selection is very good, but it appears the price points for some "special occasion" wines I've come to love have jumped a bit. (Admittedly, this is purely subjective.) This place remains one of my top choices for a special occasion.
Great for a business lunch. Fast service and quality food.
Cool River provides an awesome dining experience each and every time I go back!

IN MAUI HI... FOR THE LOVE OF GREAT FOOD WITH REGARDS : JACK
The lamb dish was excellent, with San Luis root vegetables.
Went in for lunch with coworkers. Excellent service, great lunch menu (with plenty of affordable burger/sandwich/salad options), and a comfortable environment. They were more than accommodating for our somewhat late arrival based on our reservation time. Parking lot is tight, but valet is an option.
This was my second visit to a place I loved the first time around. This time the service was slow and the wine we ordered upon arrival came AFTER we had finished the first course...really? What they said was a 7 oz filet sure didn't look like it and it was overcooked and oversalted.
There are just too many great steak spots to waste money on this one ever again. Our waiters were lovely but for whatever reason, the timeliness of the service was way off.
We took our Ant and Uncle to dinner at Cool River. Seniors in their eighty's . Great service provided as they split orders for 2 dinners for 4. There were 5 in party. The caesar salad had real anchovies which the wife loves! Had to ask for more salad dressing on one of the chopped salads but all else was good to great
Prime Rib was cooked perfectly. Pork Chop was moist and tender!
Chocolate Cake for dessert was so so...
Sadly, we were seated right behind the host station but there were plenty of open tables. Our server didn't greet us after 7 minutes so the hostess grabbed her for us. She didn't acknowledge the wait. We had to ask about the wine list and the specials. Was keeping my fingers crossed this would just be a service issue but the food was served luke warm and it was not very tasty. Completely disappointed for $200 tab and there were only 2 of us!
On a side note, there was another server close by and he was outstanding to his tables. We just drew the short stick that night......
Cool River used to be the hottest spot in the DTC. Unfortunately it is not anymore. The interior is dark and dingy now; the carpets need cleaning. The light at our booth was broken and tipped over. I explained my son would not eat a kid's meal so asked for just a small side of fries and we were charged $8 for a massive basket. My husband ordered the venison which was decent. I ordered the game hen which was ridiculous dry so I asked for the salmon instead. We were not comped anything on my meal despite the fact that by the time my dinner came by husband was done eating. I was also charged the more expensive entree price. We wouldn't dine there again.
This place was BEAUTIFUL. We loved the environment. The server was great and so was the manager who walked around to every table to make sure the guests were having a great experience. I went to this restaurant to celebrate my wedding anniversary and this was a great place to do so. My husband enjoyed his food. He ordered a chicken dish. I ordered a Salmon dish that I was not fond of. I ate a bit over half of the fish. The manager came around and I told her that I was not fond of the dish and she insisted that I pick another dish. I did so. I picked a pasta dish with chicken and shrimp. It was FANTASTIC! So I definitely recommend this place to others. Great wine list, great food, great atmosphere, and great service!
Wonderful food, attentive staff and manager--overall a delightful evening. My husband and I love to eat there!
Outstanding venison! Tender, melt-in-your mouth, succulent, excellent reduction and cheesy (?) mashed potatoes. Asparagus perfectly cooked and seasoned and with a side of mushrooms, mmm. Salad was good, and not overdressed. Only downside was the "bread pudding" which sounded great, but turned out to be a cinnamon roll (appartently not homemade) with some sauce swirled around the base, and ice cream on top. Ended up much better as the next morning's breakfast.
I came here for a work lunch a few weeks ago and was fairly pleased. It was a little on the empty side, but it was also the first week after the holidays so maybe people were business lunched-out.
The servers were really friendly and prompt. I don't remember what everyone else ordered, but I had the ahi tuna tartare appetizer as my lunch entree and thought it was pretty good. I thought the menu was a little on the pricey side, but hey - wasn't paying so I shouldn't gripe.
I'd probably come back here for a post-work HH.
The steaks are outstanding, the noise level from the bar is bad. Everything is ala cart and pricey so when the bill comes you are sure to let out a yipes!
The server described one of the specials for the evening as scallops Oscar. I have had the regular scallops and thought that they were fair for the price, but this special's price was quite a bit higher in price. We asked the server how large the scallops were in the special. He indicated that they were about 2" in diameter and about an inch thick. This was much larger than the regular scallops that I had ordered on previous occasions. Based on that, we ordered the special. The scallops were 30% smaller than he had indicated and not much crab topping. what we received did not warrant the additional cost. The scallops were well prepared, but not at the price we paid. I have learned my lesson and will not fall for the"specials" should I return and will take the server's description with a large grain of salt.
Greta Northern is better. It wasn't what we were expecting. I'm sure it caters to the business crowd during the week.
Sea bass overcooked and it was charred on the bottom. Sub par sides and a tomato salad with huge slabs of tomato but small rounds of cheese. I expected so much more. This was a huge disappointment. Thank goodness for the patio and a good book.
Last visit this place was sooo busy. Tonight quiet..really kinda weird. Host nor server mentioned b-day dinner (as I put on reservation) husband had to mention. Little lagging getting food out..but when it came great good! As I remember..strange. did get candles on cake though.....
My husband and I went for our Anniversary dinner. Our server, Mario, did an excellent job of making us feel comfortable. Our steaks were fork tender and my creamed spinach was tasty. The only negative about our meal was the timing of each course. For the prices we were paying for the meal, my husband should have been able to finish his salad with a few minutes to relax before the entree course was served. I had only just finished my salad, when the steaks arrived. It made us feel rushed and this was supposed to be a relaxing celebration dinner. Other than that, Mario and food were excellent!
I forgot to use my log in for the reservation and I am not sure if got the credit. The login email is Tublas01@yahoo.com. Please advise if you can assist me.
I've been to Cool River many times, as excellent food and easy with a group as so big, but never noticed how gorgeous the ceiling is before.
Food and service were fabulous! Michael from the Bronx is a gem! Give him a raise.😊
When I worked in the Tech Center years ago, Cool River was a great place for dinner. I thought I'd give it a try. I was surprised that it was not at all crowded on a Saturday night. I found out why. Service was slow, very slow. The waiter seemed to be ignoring us. He would walk by without even looking at us. My date's scallops and mushrooms were very good. My pork chop was dry with a very tough crust I could barely cut. The service and the food had gone down, but the prices had not; it was quite expensive for a mediocre meal and a disinterested server.
We went for our anniversary. We requested a booth in our reservation, but it was given away (we even arrived early to make sure it was available). Service was excellent and staff was very friendly. Aside from the seating it was nice.
My wife and I were celebrating my 74th birthday and what a great birthday thanks to the good food and our waiter, Tanner. We also enjoyed seeing or old friend there, Mario. It was an enjoyable evening.
