What Insiders Are Saying
One of the few New York City restaurants you can count on for an excellent meal regardless of circumstance. Go for any meal or for a day on the patio.
Cookshop was amazing. The members in our party ranged in age from 10-53 and everyone was pleased. The burger was delicious, the fries were so good that we placed an order for the table. The falafel sandwich was divine. Great cocktails too!
Once again amazing service and outstanding food . 5 stars !! Thank you for a wonderful evening !!
Very impressed with Cookshop. A short menu but everything had by our table was a hit, and the ingredients were clearly high quality. Service was polished and attentive.
In good weather, i would recommend opting for the outdoor (sidewalk) space....interior can get noisy
Met a long time friend visiting from out of town. A delicious meal for a special occasion. Great wine. Excellent service. A great place to catch up!
Many items were delicious. Salad very overdressed.
It was our last night in NYC after 7 years and cookshop had been our favorite restaurant. They made us feel special and appreciated. We will definitely miss Cookshop!
Service was friendly and caring. Food was good. My pork chop was very good. Side crispy potatoes were great. However, my wife had scallops over salad. She didn't like the salad, thought they should have served scallops with vegetables as a dinner entree. Dessert of skillet brownie with ice cream was heavenly.
Food was very decent, always long lines and need reservations, since it's in a tourist spot. I was most impressed for the attentive service our server has for us, always checking by sight if we have what is needed. Food is replaceable elsewhere though and is not enough to intrigue me to go back. We did have the lamb burger and the roasted chicken. Husband was very impressed w his burger, my chicken was undercooked. Will likely try other places and support other local restaurants.
Honestly the food was terrible. Pork chop wasn’t tender and came with strawberries that clearly had been frozen. Come on! And the value was pretty terrible, I walked out a little poorer and still hungry. Do better please
I LOVE Cookshop. Every bite and sip is expertly prepared. The cocktails are exquisite. We had the chicken and Greek burger and both were fantastic as well as the sides on the plate. Though stuffed we had ordered dessert - berry pavlova with yogurt whipped cream and basil ice cream. Amazing!
Go go go to Cookshop!
Lovely atmosphere. Tasty brunch. Good espresso coffee
Nice service delivered excellent food in a lively environment where it was difficult to hear a conversation.
Cookshop is a goto great neighborhood standard... for those of us lucky enough to be in the hood! The food and the service are consistently great, and the ambience is a happening one!
Waaaaaay tooooo loud
We went here based on a recommendation from a friend who told us it was close to the Atlantic theater which we had tickets for an 8 PM show on Saturday night. We were able to eat outside which was very private and quiet. The dishes are very innovative and tasty. We started with the pate, asparagus frittes and deviled eggs. All were delicious. For a main course I had the chilled seafood salad which I thoroughly enjoyed. The other diners had the Tabouli salad and pork chop which they also enjoyed. The portions are plentiful & the service was great. Without feeling rushed we got to our show with plenty of time to spare. I would recommend this place.
Delicious for with vegetarian options. Wait staff very friendly & helpful.
My fried chicken was over cooked. Should’ve sent it back.
Always the best with wonderful food and great service
Excellent food and service. Our waiter was terrific.
I have eaten here a few time and enjoy the menu. The restaurant is pretty noisy so, we chose to sit outside as it was a beautiful evening. The waiter was attentive without being intrusive. The food was really good.
Friends and family. Lovely meal
Wonderful food, great waitress,
Waitstaff was attentive and food was delicious! Felt a little pricy for me, but it’s probably typical NYC prices? I would go back.
Great, clean food. Excellent service. Scallops and green juice were amazing. My partner loved his chicken. Deviled egg flight was yummy and creative.
Overall, it was a great experience and a fantastic date night to celebrate a new move. The food was delicious and the outside seating area was really nice. Unfortunately we were squished up against the window (it was crowded) and were seated next to a couple that complained their entire meal. If it weren’t for that, the night would have been perfect. But, I think our waitress felt badly for us and gave us free dessert and cookies and the end of our meal. Will definitely be back!
Some of the best service in NYC. Great waitstaff, tasty food, everyone had a wonderful time!
We just love it here. We’ve never been disappointed!
Wasn’t too impressed with the options on the menu.
The noise level is really the downside of the restaurant. Terrible acoustics. Really, really loud, hard to hear the person across from the table. The noise level is a factor in dining out and who you dine with. If it wasn't so loud, I could see The Cookshop becoming a regular go-to place for me. Because of the noise, I could only go there with certain friends and @ certain times. After working really long hours @ a stressful job, it's hard to fight to relax & feel calm during dinner.
Other than the noisy environment, the food was excellent - really exceptional, fresh and beautiful taste combinations. The service was also terrific.
I look forward to going back...@ the right time.
Exceptional service made for a great meal. Excellent food, but our waiter made it a special experience.
Great food!! A little pricey but well worth it.
some really fabulous food. liver mousse, radishes and butter, and the salad under my lamb chop were surprising and delicious. the pork chop was a bit overcooked.
they were kind that we were 15 minutes late to our reservation.
The staff at Cookshop has a youthful exuberance that is contagious. It seems no one can stop smiling. Set as it is next to the Highline, it's impossible not to have fun at Cookshop.
Brunch menu was good. The service left something to be desired—the server brought the wrong drink, then forgot a side dish and had to be asked twice to bring it. Restaurant was far from full, so it was frustrating and unclear why they were so inattentive.
We had asked for as quiet a corner table as possible, and were granted same. Lovely dinner, good service.
I hadn't been to The Cookshop in many years. I had always remembered how much I enjoyed it and decided to bring my friends there for my birthday. The evening was lovely.
From the front door greeting, the service, the food, everything was wonderful. We all can't wait to return
Way overpriced for what you get
Our server was great and handled us (4 adults and 3 children) very professionally and had a great demeanor overall. Our food was good, but the medium-rare steak came out more rare than medium rare and our medium-rare burger came out more medium well. I still recommend it. The food was good and the atmosphere was very pleasant.
Good as always, though nothing was really a “wow” like it usually is apart from the peanut butter dessert which was life changing. We ordered wings, blowfish tails, stuffed pita, scallops and gnudi.
Every time we dine at Cookshop we have an incredible experience. The staff is always so friendly & accomodating...beyond any other restaurant service we’ve experienced. We love brunch at Cookshop! Spicy Bloody Marys, heuvos rancheros and the almond pancakes...oh, the almond pancakes....
