Cheese selection was so tasty
Squid was beyond excellent
Skate good but fried and breaded which I didn’t realize
Thank you Lucas
We had a delicious meal at Cookshop, but what was most impressive was the service. Our food arrived a little cool so the host immediately whisked it away and brought it back perfect in no time. On top of that, she brought us a little appetizer on the house while we waited. One of our party was celebrating a birthday the next day, and when she heard that she brought us a little dessert with a candle on top in addition to the desserts we had already ordered. My only complaint was it was rather noisy, like most restaurants these days.
Food was disappointing. Brussel sprouts tasted like they were doused in vinegar, they were difficult to eat. Our shrimp appetizer and tuna entree were just ok, nothing special or that delicious. Atmosphere and service were good, though. This was our second visit to Cook Shop, so we were expecting more.
Great dinner, vibe and location
Food was on point, as always. Lucas was an excellent server. Kind and knowledgeable. There were various people who would stop by throughout the evening and want to clear the table, mainly one woman who stopped by several times. It was odd having someone who was not our server come to our table and assert herself to things that were on the table and/or engage with us in the middle of our conversation without introducing herself. We appreciated the service level but an introduction would have been nice (especially bc we knew our server). I could have done the same thing and just walked up to some persons table and cleared things off or asked if they were through with a dish but that would be weird. That was what it felt like bc she was not a busser or a runner. Maybe a manager? anyway, overall food and service were excellent. This is why I always come back and why, just as on this visit, I always bring my out of town guests here.
The noise level is loud - all else excellent
Cookshop is one of my favorite restaurants in the boroughs, and it has been since it opened.
There is a great deal of thought applied to every dish. Ingredients, seasonings, cooking skills, and plating are precise, exceptional, and delicious.
Shouts to those who decide these things for keeping the menu varietal without kitchen sinked. Too many restaurants today - especially those who live in the $$$ area - have trend ingredients, comfort foods, overly priced old school techniques, things that saw love on Insta and (God forbid) "Top Chef" and Food Network. When the ethos, purpose, and skills are great, there is no need to have a menu that rivals TGIFridays.
Brunch, lunch, and dinner are all excellent.
The service at Cookshop is terrific: kind, interested, and informed servers really want you to enjoy your meal because they value and love good food.
Shouts to those who run Cookshop. I miss Hundred Acres, and I'm grateful that Cookshop holds it down for brunch with the quality and warmth that Hundred Acres once did.
Great food, great service! No complaints!
I always make at least one stop at Cook Shop when I’m in the city. The staff is always amazing and the food excellent. It’s the perfect place to meet up with friends and business colleagues.
A fairly sparse meny but the taste was really there and the service was great.
You will not leave hungry!
We came in for a Sunday Brunch and had a wonderful time. I had the Huevos rancheros and a Bloody Marianna and both were great. Our server
The food was not that good
Great food and service
We were a party of seven. Three of us have serious allergies. Our server was professional, knew her allergy facts about each dish and remembered the birthday of one of the guests without prompting.
Recommendations for food choices were excellent. We all invited the food, the casual ambiance back up by the professional and genuinely nice waitstaff.
It’s hard to entertain people from out of town the day after Thanksgiving and make them happy. Cookshop made it easy. Thanks!
We went for Thanksgiving dinner, and it was fantastic! The food was incredible and the waitstaff was so kind. Awesome experience!
Cookshop is always great :)
Very disappointed in the lamb entree.
Breakfast with daughter while visiting NYC
As always ... the best
Had delicious brunch with group of 5 people. We were sat at a round booth which I love. Atmosphere, service and food were all great. Will be back.
The food was excellent as always. Service is top notch. The restaurant was crowded and you would have thought we were the only table-no one missed a beat. Water glasses were never empty and we didn’t have to ask for a thing!
Comfortable dining, great service and wonderful food.... the martinies were perfect and the donuts at the end, lets just say I ate them all....
Lovely dinner in a pleasant casual restaurant. Will definitely go again. Even the picky eaters enjoyed it.
There was a small wait for our table but nothing terrible. It was very busy but appeared to be locals rather than tourists, a sign of a good venue. The food was amazing, particularly the chicken liver mousse. I could eat that all day.
Does not disappoint
Good service and nice Ambience
Great food and great for vegans and vegetarians. Fresh farm to table too.
Too noisy. Very very limited menu, but food, service and drinks were wonderful. Also parking garage is just across the street.
Great, as always, but especially noisy that day
Absolutely Delicious!! I ordered the portobello sandwich. A most generous shareable dish. Bon appetite!!
Great food. The Huevos Rancheros was is amazing! Wonderful service.
Very accommodating, friendly staff and delicious food!
I am so impressed that Cookshop delivers delicious food with a smile on their faces for so many years! This place is constantly packed and they deserve to be.
I have been to Cookshop about 15 times over the years for lunch, breakfast and dinner. It has always been a great meal along with good service and atmosphere. Tonight was the most disappointing meal I have had to date. The skate entree was bland with a fried crust that was oily and the “slaw” side was so basic without any flavor. Needless to say, I wonder if they have lost their strength? The deviled eggs were good.
They have very limited and not good food and wine options.
Our server was very good. So nice to have someone so genuine and understanding of hospitality these days in nyc
yes, always good food and nice atmosphere. I do feel the service could be a bit better, more attentive but do understand they are super busy during brunch.
Nothing special. It was packed so the service was quite slow. Food was great but nothing new. Probably wouldnt go out of my way to eat here again.
Great service and experience!
Yummy hands down!
