What Insiders Are Saying
One of the few New York City restaurants you can count on for an excellent meal regardless of circumstance. Go for any meal or for a day on the patio.
Excellent service. Ambiance is also very good for a group of friends. Veey clean. Bathrooms are also very clean. Veey open layout. Try the fried string beans.
Awesome food and service. Staff were so helpful and attentive. Thank you :)
Been here many times, but there were several issues for this brunch - service was slow, waiter had an attitude, 5 of 6 dishes arrived at once leaving one waiting, egg dishes horrible overcooked. Unfortunately probably won’t be back.
The deserts were very good, especially my pana cota.
Unfortunately, the starters were disappointing. The burrata was very garlicky and there was so much bread instead of burrata. The albacore almost tasteless.
The service was very good and the manager very accommodative.
It was good. Very good. But not great. We had 5 items and they were all good. But something was off the mark with a few items.
Always surprisingly deliscious flavor combinations, friendly service, great cocktails.
Everything was excellent. Also very accommodating for gluten free, including bread.
Too loud, service slow. Food was below average for the prices.
Fantastic food and service. Seasonal menu rotates often, which keeps it fresh and interesting. Everything is high quality and delicious. The staff here is great!
I’ve been to Cookshop for many birthday dinners. I try to sit outside. They never disappoint. Attentive but not smothering service-Dominic was so friendly and had great recommendations. Patio is quiet and the food was so good. The crisp potatoes are to die for.
Great food! Our waiter was so nice and enthusiastic. The food was incredible - we loved everything. It was also really nice sitting outside.
Great for vegetarians and vegans too!
Great food and vibe for a date. Disappointed they dont have avocado toast but the other food are great too!
Awesome spot by Chelsea market and the high line! Went for brunch, the blueberry French toast and spinach scramble were delicious!! Highly recommend!
Absolutely outstanding restaurant experience, from food to service to ambiance and everything in between. We sat on the sidewalk dining area on a beautiful Sunday morning. One of the best restaurant/brunch experiences we've had. Thank you!!
My friend loved her tuna; we both loved the potato side dish.
I went to Cookshop with my wife for our aniversary brunch. It did not dissapoint. We had lots of fun. Its a cool spot with great food. Small menu but great dishes. I had the fish sandwich and the wife had the french toast. Great spot! Will definitely go back..
Had a wonderful dinner with a group of friends and colleagues. My boss and I were very early and spent time at the bar where the service was friendly and exceptional
cool shop started out great- nice salad, glass of wine and fantastic service. unfortunately the ribeyes we order were so over salted we both left our meals unfinished.
The chairs were very, very uncomfortable. They have no lumbar support, causing a back ache afterwards. We will not return there for that reason.
Also, it was warm where we were sitting because the A/C unit had broken. The manager offered to move us to a different table, which was nice.
Food was great. Slow to get the check. Loved our way there though. Will go back again
Love this place!! Always fantastic!
Every time we come down from Connecticut we try to get to Cookshop. The cocktails are amazing and the food is always fresh and flavorful. Love this place!
The AC was barely working, it was unbearable in the restaurant. Don't go if it's hot outside.
Exceptional service and food! My lamb burger was a lille under cooked and the manger took care of it right away and gave me my date a free glass of wine to compensate not eating our main at the same time.
Service, bar and Food was amazing. I took my niece & nephew (foodies) - great litmus test!
Cookshop is one of my favorite restaurants, so when a great friend of mine who is in the restaurant business himself in Boston was in town for the food show at the Javitz center I brought him there. Cookshop did not disappoint! Food was delicious, service from Nick was terrific!
Great menu and service!!
Great ambience and service. Appetisers good but our meat was too salty and over-cooked.
Fun spot! Buzzing at dinner time. Too loud for a serious conversation but perfect for casual dining. Creative blends of food like pork croquets, scallop ceviche or the Chimichurri potato crisps. Pizza was a better value at $19 than the pork chop at $29. All the food tastes farm fresh. Solid service but may have to flag em down when busy. Sparkling water carafe is free.
Most of the food was over salted, and even the squash blossoms were drowned in oil. The menu is delicious in theory but the chef has a heavy hand with salt and oil. It took 10-15 minutes for someone to come and take our first drink order. Convivial atmosphere.
The food was outstanding the service was outstanding all-around wonderful time and very convenient parking right across the street. I highly recommend this place
Place was jumping! Service was attentive and food excellent.
Blueberry lemon riccota french toast and beignets were a hit with the table. Always have a good time there.
They had a birthday cupcake without asking - nice touch!
It is consistently good!!
Reflective of the the hustle and bustle of NYC. Just a little dark making it hard to read menus for those who dine later.
Our “go to” in our neighborhood. Always good.
My husband and I enjoyed an early Sunday (5:30PM) dinner recently at CookShop following a theater matinee performance. Being seniors, we were happy the restaurant wasn't crowded, since when it is, the noise level can make conversation difficult. Our dinners were outstanding -- halibut for hubby and a lamb chop/sausage combo for me. The latter had a wheat bulgur side dish that was one of the best things I ever ate. When asked if the chef would be willing to share his recipe, not only did the manager visit our table to get our email address, but shortly afterward, the chef himself made an appearance. Now that's real service!
Food was tasty
