What Insiders Are Saying
One of the few New York City restaurants you can count on for an excellent meal regardless of circumstance. Go for any meal or for a day on the patio.
Fantastic Monday lunch. Swordfish was wonderfully moist. Service was friendly and efficient, with no attitude about the fact that my friend was late and we also were in a hurry. All went off perfectly. Apple margarita was also delicious.
Impromptu dinner at Cookshop turned out to be one of the more memorable restaurant trips of 2018. Despite my open distaste for tapas restaurants decided to forego entrees in favor of an amalgam of six appetizers. Turned out to be extremely delicious, just the right amount of food, and came out to $40 per person. I highly recommend Cookshop.
Consistent, fresh, delicious, courteous and solicitous.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating food was awesome. Thank you for the great spirits JB Long Island New York
Cookshop was a great choice for brunch. As someone aging out of the "brunch isn't brunch without bottomless mimosas" bracket, I found it to be a really nice medium. Very lively but not overrun with college kids looking for a liquid brunch, good food, not overly precious. We stuck to coffee this time around but the drink selection looked good. It's pretty loud in there, so it probably wouldn't be the spot to bring your grandmother but it would be perfect for a casual brunch with friends.
The only real negative I found was how slow the service was. We waited 20 minutes for coffee and considerably longer for our food.
Cookshop is just too loud. The food is quite reliable, but the music was deafening, and the level of other ambiant noise was just awful. I couldn't hear the friend with whom I was dining from across the table at all. Being outside in Times Square is peaceful compared to this place.
it was a very nice brunch, but i think they needed more runners or waiters.
the wait time to get coffee, check and anything else we may have wanted was very long.
the waiter never had a chance to come and ask if we needed anything once the meal arrived.
Still one of my favorite places.
THE WORST FOOD IN NYC! Everything taste only GARLIC! They need to change the Chef! You can only taste the garlic in that place! The turkey burger is beyond horrible! The potatoes is basically garlic, the chicken taste just garlic!
Loved our meal here! Menu offered a broad variety of options even though it wasn't very lengthy.
Love the Juevos Rancheros and cappuccinos! Interesting seasonal beer selection. Always crowded on weekends and holidays, so book if you can. Try the pastries, you can't go wrong!
Service was great. So was the Som. The food, however, had more salt than the Dead Sea. Kitchen was off- but nothing else. A Chelsea gem...
I ❤️ Cookshop! Yummy lunch and brunch choices. I had a falafel in house made pita bread—so good. Pastries and coffee afterwards was delish.
Jordan was an EXCEPTIONAL server on Friday night. Terrific!! Thank you.
Cookshop is one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants but it is also a destination for many. Dinner was delicious and the cocktails creative & gorgeous. Highly recommend!
Great food, service, music!
Simply, one of the all around best dinner experiences we’ve had.
My friends were a little disappointed by the limited menu!😞
Extremely boring burger.
We visited here several years ago for brunch and had the huevos rancheros. It was so good we had to come back. Still so good!
Awesome brunch experience!! All four drinks and dishes were incredible! Service was incredibly friendly! We will definitely be back!
They sat us on time and we even had a choice of outside dining (no heaters!) or inside.
Our waiter was personable and attentive
We were able to linger after the meal
The food was DELICIOUS
my date thought the meal price was a good value
Great atmosphere, delicious food, and incredible service! We were 30 min late because of a delay on the A train and they still seated us with a smile and without any trouble. Will definitely be back!!
The food is yummy - super loud and buzzy but not in a bad way. Just louder than I normally like when trying to have a conversation
Excellent food with generous portion
Ambience is dark but lively
Great food and great ambiance
Food is very good. Noise level is unbearable and very difficult to have conversation
There is a reason Cookshop is consistently busy! It’s a great ambiance and simple healthy fare with a creative twist with outstanding service
Cookshop is amazing! Get the pancakes, get the French toast, get the thick cut bacon. Get it all!
The food and menu choices were mediocre: nothing special, but executed well. The waiter really acted like he was doing us a favor by taking our order, and like he was too good to be serving. The atmosphere on the patio, where we sat, was lovely. The hostesses and bussers were very polite and attentive. I was very glad we didn't sit inside: the noise was intense.
Our meal was great -- much better than I expected given past experiences. But our table in the back was poorly situated. Basically we were in the middle of a server traffic jam. We should have asked for another but we were already settled in by the time we realized we were sitting in Grand Central.
Cookshop was a nice surprise. Excellent service from when I walked in through the whole meal. They sat me (on a busy Saturday) even though my dinner date was running late. I did have a reservation. Everyone was in a good mood from the hostess to the bus boys. Our waitress was top notch. Food was exceptional. We both had the scollops and shared the bruscetta as an app. So tasty. It is a little pricey but you really do get what you pay for here in terms of food and service. It located in a hot area right now (west chelsea) so one expects a little attitude, but not here. Treat yourself. Head out to Cookshop.
Outstanding food and service. I was visiting my daughter in NYC and we had dinner here. It was amazingly good-eggplant purée starter followed by a vegetarian lasagne, both great! Our server was very attentive without being overbearing, super nice guy. All in all, a great night out!
Solid food and menu. Tables are pretty crowded and room is loud, so definitely not a quiet date place, but was a fun and lively place for supper.
Such great people as waitstaff!! Maggie and Chris were exceptional in making our anniversary dinner special. Thank you!
Another wonderful dinner. The servers here are remarkable. Try the mezcal margaritas and any of the snacks before your excellent dinner.
Quality Farm Fresh Ingredients. Cocktails were creative but not full of sugar.
We LOVE Cookshop!
Get Kelsey to be your server!!!!! She's rules the world!
Excellent service! From the bartender to the wait staff. Very friendly and attentive. Food was amazing & so were the cocktails.
Exceelent with my very severe allergies. Very friendly service. Food was delicious. Lots of interating and healthy options.
