What Insiders Are Saying
One of the few New York City restaurants you can count on for an excellent meal regardless of circumstance. Go for any meal or for a day on the patio.
Nic was a great server.... very observant, helpful and knowledgeable. I had Berkshire pork, my husband had skirt steak...both awesome!! Loved the deviled egg app and cookie!!
We’ll be back!
Absolutely beautiful holiday décor set the tone for a wonderful dinner. The food, service and atmosphere were exceptional.
Everything was perfect. From our handsome mustachioed waiter with his excellent wine and cocktail suggestions, to the decadent vegetarian dumplings and bloody as hell strip steak. To quote the mechanized future slave of the AI that will eventually kill us all, “I’ll be back.”
Thanks For another great meal
Wonderful food and terrific staff
Cook shop is a go-to for me. The food is always amazing, the service & staff are all great - friendly & accommodating. Considering location and type of food on the menu, the prices are very reasonable.
I Brought business clients to Cookshop for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. The food was awesome and the quietness provided a great atmosphere for conversation. Can’t wait to try lunch and dinner. Another plus is the Highline is right across the street. A stroll makes you less guilty about the calories you just consumed.
Consistently excellent food service and ambience.
Dinner with father from Texas. Great food. Great service.
Always awesome. Everyone so friendly and food is great.
The pork chop was amazing!! Just what I needed on a Friday night. Seriously, the food here is delicious. We loved that the atmosphere was bustling and festive yet not so loud that we couldn't have an enjoyable conversation.
Great food. Price is a little on a higher side but worth the special occasion
Fun and great as always...lots of options for vegan, gluten free and bite size meals
Very limited menu. Left hungry. Won’t be going back. Disappointed.
The food was good, as always. We felt rushed by the service though - e.g., asking “do you know what you’d like to order” a minute after sitting down, “how’s that chicken tasting” three seconds after the plate touched the table, etc.
we live in Hells Kitchen, and sometimes you need to get out of your RUT, we always look forward to a short cab ride to a wonderful place to have a perfect brunch.
Excellent food and pleasant experience, with a nice crowd.
Vacation special dinner with wifey
Food and service were top notch! I recommend for a casual high quality meal! I love Cookshop!
I meet an old friend for brunch, we had not seen each other for many years. The waiter was very good and let us talk, and checked in occasionally to finally take our order. Both of us liked our selections and the pickled Bloody Marys (served with paper straws! thank you). The malted sundae was also a stand out. Again the service was very good, and there was no issue as we lingered during our vey long catch-up brunch.
Food was incredible. We did make reservations and glad we did. It was packed.
So disappointing! We shared three dishes and each was sub-par. The empanada arrived on a plate with a tiny amount of Chimichurri sauce but was otherwise unadorned. The filling inside was tasty but much too salty. Tuna meatballs were dry and hard as if the tuna was ground up too finely and squished together firmly. The sauce they come with i
Was nice, slightly sweet, with raisins. The cassoulet was the biggest disappointment. The whole thing didn’t work together at all - the piece of brisket was dry and tasteless, the small piece of sausage was super salty, and the chicken confit was more like roast chicken leg than a true confit. These items come with beans that had a nice smoky flavor but again were much too salty and didn’t make a cohesive dish with the other ingredients. We won’t be coming back and we think you shouldn’t bother either.
I don’t get to Cookshop as much as I used to since I moved out of the neighborhood. It’s wonderful to see that they still serve delicious, inventive food in that warm, inviting environment. Our server was friendly and attentive— just the right amount. A great meal for two friends catching up.
It was great! Place was bustling but it was Saturday brunch!
The restaurant was so festive! My server was efficient and friendly. The food felt healthy and nourishing and was delicious. I will definitely be back.
Great service. Good food. Superb mushroom soup
Everything was delicious! Thanks to the chef, the cooks, the sommelier, naomi and Collin for a wonderful experience.
Our dinner was lovely! Every person I interacted with was charming and pleasant: host, manager, server. I'll be back and definitely share this find with foodie friends.
Good service and food. Filled me up for the day.
Loved it!! The food, service and everything
I was hosting friends from San Francisco and you are one of my favorite neighborhood choices.. first i should say entrees were excellent, but no one liked the appetizers (deviled eggs and pate). The place was busy, but our server never came back after food arrived, my friend asked for mustard and it took 15 minutes, then we asked again and ended up with two.
Had a lovely dinner at Cookshop over the weekend. The service was fantastic and really wowed our out of town guest. I had the roast chicken and it was amazingly flavorful and the opposite of a typical/boring roast chicken. The apple cider donuts were also stellar.
Great breakfast and brunch menu! Highly recommend!
Food was great. Really well executed dishes. You can tell they’ve been at it for a minute. Flavors work. Professional service. This was my first visit but def not my last.
It exceeded all my expectations. Service and food was excellent.
Friendly service and varied menu. Roast chicken is terrific.
Really enjoyed this restaurant! Beautiful space, delicious local food, excellent - friendly, knowledgeable and attentive waiter.
the location is great- food is really fresh always right from the farm. Noise level can be oppressive and tables are way close together, but a real chelsea favorite
Quality of food has gone down, nothing memorable. Was a place I frequented 10 yrs ago and was really good then.
All great just so slow with the food
