We came on Vday and the atmosphere was nice. Live music was exceptional and the performer came over to greet us. Out was great. Food was exceptional. However, the waitress seemed to have forgotten us and we ordered a half dozen oysters and only got 5. My wife was getting irritated.
The menu on Open Table looked very creative and different (Buttermilk Ricotta Pancakes, Avocado Toast).
We got there and discovered a boring hotel menu. It took a long time to get water and coffee. One of our Party asked for hard poached eggs for her Eggs Benedict and all of the Eggs Benedict had hard yolks (Even though two of us had commented that we liked our poached eggs soft). The only bright spot was the validation of mandatory valet parking.
We were in Buckhead during a snow event. Therefore our experience was not what we had originally expected. We were happy to find that Cook Hall was still open for our reservation. They were running a limited menu due to the snow and reduced staff that it created. Being a fish guy, I had the snapper, it was nicely prepared and the potatoes that accompanied it were excellent. The service was top notch, and the dining area quiet (probably because Atlantans don’t go out in the snow).
Unfortunately our reservation was the day the restaurant got bought out so the wait staff, kitchen, and management were all still adjusting to new ownership. On top of that, the city was reeling from 5” of snow the night before (yes this is in Atlanta...), so the restaurant wasn’t able to accommodate a brunch reservation as they didn’t have food/ingredients for brunch menu anymore. We ended up going somewhere else since we really wanted brunch, but the ambiance there seemed to be nice. Hopefully the new owners will keep the feel/vibe of the place - if not, I’m curious to see what it becomes.
We had company in town, and they wanted gastro pub food. The restaurant called to confirm our reservation, and mentioned nothing about the menu not being available during our reservation. Only until we sat at table and asked for menus, did they proceed to tell us that the only food option was a latin food bar for $34 per person, that was very sub par in flavor and quality
The food was really good and the service was good once we were seated. There was a sign that said please wait to be seated but no one was at the hostess stand. We waited almost 10 minutes and I ended up going inside and asking one of the servers to seat us. He sat us immediately and we didn't have any issues other than that.
We used to live this place buy with the change of management food had gotten bad, service is fantastic though -- everyone is very nice and attentive, specially out Serbian server- but our kale salad was inedible and the esparragous risotto extremely basic and tasteless. The new Patisian chef needs to improve things and fast.
The place was super cute and the food was fine, but the service was extremely disappointing. The waiter was very slow and took way too long to come back to get our orders and then once he finally did the food took forever. The parking was supposed to be validated, but the hostess did not offer to validate on our way in or out. When we got our car, the valet charged $15 so ran back inside to see if they could validate our parking and the hostess slowly pulled out his laptop to type in the ticket number and said we should be good. Ran back to find that it wasn't registering as validated in the valet's system, but by that time we were already late due to the extra 45 minutes that had been tacked on to our alotted brunch time (from the slow service and back and forth attempting to get parking validated) and had to leave.
We had a reservation for a Saturday lunch and arrived to find the host stand empty. We wandered into the restaurant, looked around at menus on the bar, stood for awhile and finally a server came out to check on the only other table there. She didn't know much about the menu (she was new, she said), didn't know who the general manager was, wasn't able to explain to us about food preparation. She sat us, we got our drinks, she took our order and disappeared. Two of us ordered egg sandwiches (an amazing dish I've had many times before), but they obviously sat in the kitchen window waiting for the server to deliver them to us. My "over medium" as well as my friend's "over easy" were rock hard eggs. If only the server had checked back with us, we might have contemplated having our food re-cooked properly. We saw her again when she dropped the check.
The menu was very limited for lunch (2 p.m. reservation). Expensive dinner items were on the menu (20-25 dollars, as I recall), but lighter, less expensive and more lunch-appropriate fare, such as sandwiches, soup, and salads, was quite limited. Several such items should be added. It's not the price that's the problem--it's that dinner menu items are too heavy that early in the afternoon. This was my third lunch visit in the past year and I don't recall such a limited--and odd--lunch menu. Think "duck tacos" as an example. The service was great and the intimate room was quiet and nice for conversation. Work on the menu, Cook Hall, and I'll be back for a fourth visit.
Hi, I usually dont write reviews but this one made me to do so. We went to Cook Hall for Brunch with girls, read the BRUNCH menu online and decided to go. Came to the restaurant at 12pm, asked for BRUNCH menu the answer is WE DONT SERVE BRUNCH, Ok!? (could you remove your BRUNCH menu from your website then?! )Can we have some coffee - answer "We don't have coffee but let me check". Ok, brought coffee. We started ordering snacks of the menu (appetizers). Will mention only two tables were occupied on Saturday at the time we were there. Ordered appetizers and one girl decided to get an entry. While ordering, waitress had no clue what size the food was, did not want to communicate or understand orders. Took orders finally and left, left forever! I mean we sat for another 40 minutes, 2 tables were occupied only, food was not coming. Finally, caught her asking if appetizers are coming, aka snacks, she looked at us scared and asked did you order appetizers??? We were like yes! So, she did not understand snacks=appetizers were the same thing. 1 hour later we started eating, food was good, girls liked. We are not picky or anything, 3 girls who were with us worked as waitresses before and know how the waitress should be working. So we came at 12pm and got food at 1.20pm. Were very unhappy. Place is very beautiful, set up is amazing, lazy waitresses spoiled the whole Saturday. At the time we were leaving two older lady walked in, dressed very nicely (rich), noone paid attention to them for about 20 minutes, both waitresses saw them and kept ignoring them, they did not care at all. RUDE AND AWFUL SERVICE. NEVER AGAIN WILL COME BACK THERE.
Staff nice but service & food delivery very very slow. Had been once before for Thanksgiving & chef decided not to serve meal till 3 & we were all there at 1:00. So wanted to give place another chance. Everybody at the W hotel where restaurant located is on super slow speed.
Went for my daughter's birthday (one of her favorite places) but we were unimpressed. The atmosphere is nice but the service was very slow and inattentive. The online menu was different from the one we were given that evening. It is not a large menu but nice that there are different pricing choices. We had duck tacos, pork sliders, french dip, crispy chicken and asparagus risotto....all fine but nothing just amazing. Desserts the same.
