With a stunningly warm and inviting atmosphere reminiscent of a family-run restaurant in Tuscany or Bordeaux, Continental Treat Fine Bistro in Edmonton serves charming continental cuisine. The traditional cheese and potato stuffed pierogis with sour cream and the vegetable-laden red barszcz soup make excellent starter dishes. Some of Continental Treat Fine Bistro's specialty entrée dishes include the marinated pork chop Munich style with smoked sausage and mushrooms in a rich pearl onion sauce, the chicken stroganoff in a creamy tomato sauce with spaetzle, sour cream and diced pickles, the famous Hungarian goulash with tender beef cubes stewed in a rich and fragrant paprika sauce and the rainbow trout with seasoned with lemon, dill and capers, pan fried until crisp and golden.
Continental Treat Fine Bistro also serves an excellent array of beers and wines from across the globe; the perfect accompaniment to the hearty and rustic fare.
Everything was so so delicious. A wee bit noisy with the music. Caring pleasant quick server
I go here regularly with my Aunt and it is always very good.
Everything I have ordered here has always been great. Portions are quite large and you leave stuffed because its so good you want to eat it all
It is nice and quiet and very cozy
Food are always consistent in quality !
lovely environment, very cozy feel. Waitress always smile, and very attentive !
But this time the home made bread seems not as good as before.
Excellent food and superb service! will definitely dine there again
We booked for a birthday. That was not even mentioned. Food was very good. Did not even get our servers name. Never had the pepper on her as the dishes were served. Online, it mentions parking for restaurant reservations. Not true. 6-7 spots available for the 500 reservations.
WE always have an amazing experience and have been to this restaurant for over 10 years and have never been disappointed.
My supervisor is an avid diner with developed senses for fine dining. Catching up with her after 2 years had to be special. CTFB is close to U of A right on the happening Whyte Ave. for convenience of location. The interiors are very classy, the servers very polite and in proper uniform (Tip: A lot can be said from how thrashy the servers look).
Everything our group ordered pleased the eyes and taste buds alike only desiring for more. Ask for tea/coffee if yu aint into drinking, they dont have it on the menu. Light music adds to the charm of the ambiance.
Pricey is a relative term but look between $50-60/per person for a 3 course meal+drink
This is one of our favourite restaurants and we took friends visiting from Australia for supper. They were suitably impressed with all aspects of the restaurant. From appetizers to the main course the food was excellent. We ordered a bottle of wine which was good but overpriced for a California red wine. Our server was pleasant and professional and contributed to a very enjoyable evening for our group.
Well there was no candle lit, and no one asked if it was a special occasion. Yes it was my birthday. Oh well
The food is always excellent. Server was also very good.
