Consuelo Mexican Bistro
The service and the food was excellent. I love the decor as well! My favorite is always the table-side guacamole. My carnitas were a tad dry, which was surprising since I've had it before, and it's been superb. Despite that, the combined flavors made it still tasty. My only complaint was that it was very loud. All told, I would highly recommend Consuelo.
Food was great the waitress seemed annoyed with everyone.
Food was tasty! Ambiance was terrible!
Staff kept throwing plates and silverware into the dishwashing area perhaps, but it was extremely loud! Brought it to their attention and kept on doing it. Could not have a peaceful conversation and ambiance..
Great location but obviously overpriced because it sits in Santana Row. Quality was slightly above average. Margarita was too pricey but nicely made.
We had a large family group for a special occasion. Despite calling the restaurant twice, before and after making the Open Table reservation, when we arrived they had lost the reservation. Our server worked hard at correcting the situation. They also hadn't explained that the patio, which we'd requested, was covered by plastic since there was construction going on in the street next to it. The food was good, as in the past, and our server did an excellent job.
It was the most unpleasant and unprofessional experience that I encountered at Consuelo’s. Staff was rude, seating was horrible, and some dishes were cold. I will no longer be a Consuelo’s paTron.
Planned on a bday celebration for 9 ladies!
The restaurant was CLOSED when we got there.
Closed by the health department!
No message, no text! WTF?
Great meal. Service after our plates were dropped was slow. Sat with empty glasses for way too long.
It was our first time there. Overall it was a good experience. The server was attentive and the food was very good.
I had the Enchilada Suiza and my husband ordered the Chili Verde.
The Margarita's were awesome as well. Wish they were a bit larger.....
It was definitely very lively but we enjoyed the energy although it was hard to hear each other at times.
We will plan to go back for Sunday brunch as I heard that is very good as well.
Good food, fun to sit outside in the sun, friendly servers. Nice experience all ro7nd!
Food was nice. But the service was extremely SLOWWWW
We didn’t even get to be seated. They were not taking in ppl
This used to be a favorite for us. We went this time and half way through dinner the power went out. Nothing the restaurant can do. And it didn’t bother us either. When we then left, still in the dark, we forgot a pair of sunglasses. Returned to get them, and they were gone. The way we were treated by personnel was very rude and uncooperative. Big disappointment.
This not your standard Tex-Mex. There are several common favorites that you cannot get here such a menudo on weekends. Our waiter was candid about this and talked about offerings in neighborhood Mexican restaurants. The food is more like central Mexico and menu is more limited to dishes that are very well prepared. The fresh tortillas are great.
The service was very slow especially for a Tuesday night. Food quality and flavor seems to have gone down. Everything was bland and needed salt!
After waiting for 25 minutes to order and having to go to the bar and get my first round of drinks. I would say the food was excellent but the service was way slow
Reunion with friends!
Love everything about this restaurant. Our server was Dora just wonderful. We go there every week, and will keep going.
Three friends birthday
The wait staff and hostess were all friendly and nice. After being seated I went to lean on the table and it was really sticky :( My food was luke warm and my sons' Chili Relleno was burt! Don't think we will go back any time soon :(
Great spot for margarita and food before a nice walk to movie at Santana Row.
Chile verde and sopes were delicious. Margaritas were also very good . Friendly service will come back again.
Great place to go with Family and friends. Good food and Margaritas
I love this place. My wife and come here nearly every week before we head off to the movies.
A great family restaurant. You can always rely on good food, reasonable prices and a friendly environment. I have been there several times with family and friends, to celebrate birthdays or simply catch up with friends over drinks and appetizers. The guacamole is fantastic!
Authentic Mexican food in a beautiful location.. Fast and courteous service. Table side guacamole was terrific!
Fajitas were ok, not great. They don't include guacamole. Chicken was bland, not flavorful like typical fajitas. Recommend the ceviche. Skinny margarita and house margarita not good. Top shelf margarita was good.
We really enjoyed our evening as well as the food.. The service was very good too!
Great food and was not real busy. However, waitress was very nice but not attentive. We had to flag someone down for drinks that did not come, more chips and salsa and water.
GREAT MARGARITAS! But watch out- they're really expensive
We were 15 minutes late for our reservation, but they still had our table ready even though some walk in people were waiting to be seated. This table turned out to be in a high traffic area, so the manager was able to find us another table in a less active area. Very accommodating! The filet Mignon was delicious. The green salsa (one of three complimentary salsas provided with chips) was very hot-like habenero hot. The quesso "appetizer" we ordered to munch on while waiting for our meal did not arrive until our meal was brought out. We were told only one of their ovens were working that evening. We would definitely go there again.
Service, food, experience all great
Nice, prompt service. Food delicious as always.
Great guacamole, prepared table side
Food was good, but no ambiance, light were very bright , space was too little and it was very loud
The food was terrible. I ordered the shrimp wrapped bacon. The shrimp were overcooked and so rubbery that i think I could have bounced them off of the floor. The rice was dry and lukewarm. The salsas were terrible and the tortilla chips were over salted.
The food and ambiance were good, from a service perspective though we waited so long to get the fajitas entree brought to our table. The delay was because the helper who was working with our waitress dropped off the entree at the wrong table so our waitress had to ask the kitchen to prepare the fajitas for our table again.
Loved the guacamole and margaritas!!
Server and server assistants were very personable. The trio of salsas they serve are so good. Our favorite was the spicy sauce made with Serrano peppers. We got the guacamole made tableside. Chile Verde was flavorful and the rice was delicious.
Reservation system needs work.
I tried to change the reservation from 5 to 6 people several times over two days and OpenTable
could not communicate with the restaurant.
When we got there no reservations (at all) were showing. It was not a problem to us as it was very early in the day and the place was empty.
Service was terrible, waiter was always missing
