David was a great server and Mark, the manager, made sure our evening was special.
Service was just average then mixed up our orders. Both were fish entrees so we didn't realize this until we had started to eat.
Seems like they might be having trouble with their chefs. When you get a shrimp scampi with no olive oil, garlic, and the shrimp is not Sautéed. I think there's an issue
Had dinner while staying at the resort. Rather disappointing as a"fine dining" restaurant. The food was alright but nothing special. The decor needs a serious makeover. The service however was very good.
Absolutely not a restaurant that should be on Open Table!
We've been here before and will go again. It's quiet, the food is good and the ambiance is comfortable and relaxing. There is nothing flashy here. It's simply enjoyable. We heartily recommend. By coincidence, we've had the same waiter on two occasions. David was excellent and professional.
One cannot ask for more here.
Four of us were there Christmas evening. One of the meals was brought out 5- 10 min. before the others.
The quality was fair. We would not return.
Food just ok. Service was spotty....no follow-up.
Best Experience Everrrrr and it was my husbands birthday. I spoke with Katherine earlier in the day made her aware and she went above her job description 2 make sure he was satisfied and ecstatic!!! She's the best making the establishment Greattttttttt!!!!! Thanks for everything. Mrs Newton.
One of our favorite restaurants on Hilton Head. Great service, quiet, elegant atmosphere, excellent food (my She-crab soup was terrific), varied menu and reasonable prices, especially for the "early bird" specials.
Our drinks and food not up to best experience however our server was excellent
Excellent Food and Service, a must try for one evening on Hilton Head
It was just okay for me. I had the She Crab soup which is supposed to be their award winning soup. Too heavy for me. The Berkshire Pork was too done and dry.
This restaurant is consistently good. We have eaten here many times. The crab bisque is the best around.
Their she crab soup is the best!
My travel partner and I don't eat much, so we ordered a salad to share, and a main course to share. Waiter seemed unhappy with our choice, so I overtipped.
There was certainly nothing wrong with this restaurant, but given that there's so much competition on the island, I think they could do better from a food standpoint if they want to earn the kind of money they're charging for dinner. They were good about accommodating a group of 8.
Started out well with tasty appetizers and soup. Steaks were mediocre and veggies uninspired. For price would suggest nearby Redfish or Mark Anthony's
Enjoyed the food and the ambience of the restaurant. The service was exceptional. It was a birthday celebration and a lovely evening.
Very nice meal and very good service. In some ways, a typical hotel restaurant. There were just a few people in the room. It was very quiet - a huge plus in my book. Most Marriott hotel restaurants provide a similar experience. We enjoyed the meal and would absolutely return again.
Food was perfectly prepared. Steak was perfect medium rare and salmon flaked off with just a fork. Waiter was very nice. Holiday week so not crowded.
Early bird dinner was a bargain for what you get and absolutely delicious!!! Always have the best she crab soup around.
The menu at Conroy's was exactly what we were looking for but we were a bit concerned after reading the reviews. I'm so glad we decided to try it out because our dining experience was FABULOUS! We got there just before the early bird specials ended and were able to order the grouper off that menu - it was amazing! Our kids both wanted pasta with Alfredo sauce - it was not on the menu but they easily accommodated us. The wine list was extensive, the bread basket was filled with tasty breads and crackers, our Ceaser salads were great, and our desserts were delicious! The atmosphere was upscale and quiet but it worked for us with our kids ages 9 and 11. The service was quick and friendly without being too quick or overbearing. They do have a kids menu and being in a hotel, I'm sure they accommodate all ages. We are so glad we went to Conroy's instead of to a restaurant with a 2 hour wait. We will definitely be back on our next trip.
Excellent place and excellent food
We had the early bird...this is a great value, good food, and quiet. Piano player was fantastic.
Best kept secret on HHI>
The view of the ocean was obstructed by the roof of a building in front of the hotel restaurant. Everything was just okay. We were tired from driving and decided to stay in the hotel to eat. We were disappointed that the food and ambience were just so-so.
Conroy's is one of the worst hotel restaraunts my family and I have ever experienced. The menu was not fresh and local - very processed and pre-cooked. The design of the restaraunt is to showcase the kitchen - which definitely should not describe itself as "gourmet". There was no entertainment - especially with the consistent barking of one chef yelling orders and no real cooking happening. I am a gluten free foodie - and usually chef's are very willing to accommodate my allergy; however, Conroy's provided very few options and couldn't provide a GF vodka for a cocktail. Our waiter's lack of enthusiasm, knowledge and overall poor service (he almost dropped my daughter's dinner on her) put the icing on the cake. Not going back!
Upscale menu in any location. I tried the shebisque, scallops, and chilean sea bass. The bisque was particularly good. Creamy and tsaty. The scallops were prepared properly and presented nicely. The sea bass was tender and moist. No complaints about the food. Area of improvement is with the service. The waiter did not have any clue about wine and could not offer any suggestions. It is worth trying when in town, but would not be my regular "go-to" places.
We stayed at the Marriott Resort and Spa where this restaurant is located. We arrived near dinner time and decided to stay in and eat here. Our server was from Turkey and he could not do enough to please us. For a hotel restaurant, the food was great and we had a very pleasant night. I would not hesitate to dine here again if we were staying in the hotel. Great selection on the menu and everyone wanted to please.
We were fooled by other reviewers high marks, this is just a typical hotel lobby restaurant. Fine if you are staying there and don't want to go out, but not worth a special trip. Crab stuffing was all breading, no crab. Food was too salty. Shrimp and pasta dish was heavy on pasta, light on shrimp. Not worth the drive.
Conroy's is the best restaurant on Hilton Head Island!!! The food was simply superb and the portions were quite large. We chose the crab cakes and pork entrees and both were amazingly good and enough to take home. The wait staff is excellent and very friendly. Also, the bill was less than we thought it would be. The only downside is the restaurant space itself. The restaurant is in the Marriott overlooking the ocean, but an outdoor restaurant or bar blocked our view. Still the best restaurant on the island and definitely worth a try!
We live on HHI and we have frequented here many times. The service, food and ambiance is always fabulous!!!
As usual our dinner was great. We come here every year when we visit Hilton Head. Service was top shelf.
Cold atmosphere. Bland fillet. Good she crab bisque. Tired desserts.
I took my fiancé here for a birthday dinner. We have lived here almost a year and have eaten at many restaurants on the island. This, by far, was the most delicious meal we have had. My fiancé had the She Crab Bisque which had large bites of crab and just the right amount of sherry. He then had the Chilean Sea Bass which was cooked to perfection. I had the fillet which was cooked perfectly to my liking and just the right amount. Along with the steak was roasted potatoes and roasted Brussels Sprouts in a butter sauce with bacon. The grand finale was the key Lime Log which was out of this world!!!!! The server was so nice and attentive. I cannot say enough nice things about Conroy's. A must for anyone who lives here or is visiting.
Our dinner was great but there was no heat in the restaurant and we not told this until after we were seated.
We stopped on Christmas Day, when few restaurants in the area were open. The restaurant had a special set menu for the holiday, which we picked from, including pork loin and a sirloin. We were pleased with the ambiance, service and presentation. The food itself was pricey for what we received. The view of the Atlantic is tiny, which was also a disappointment. Overall, a nice hotel restaurant, but there are better, and more affordable, options in Hilton Head.
We have been to Conroy's countless times for their Early Bird menu. Their she crab soup has big chunks of lump crab meat, and their entrees are always excellent. The service is top-notch, too. We've introduced many people to Conroy's, and they've all raved about it. We also like that the 3 course Early Bird menu is available until 6:30 pm.
Despite previous excellent reviews, I found this restaurant so-so, given the location and prices. The food was OK. I had their "signature" sea bass which was tasty but undercooked. The service was slow and inconsistent even though the restaurant was less than half full.
... was a great value. It's a prix fixe menu; I had the crab bisque, prime of beef and a key line log, all wee delicious. The service was attentive also. Highly recommended!
