Exuberant waitress -- lots of fun with an Irish flavor. Excellent location next to MoMA. Quiet enough so conversation was relaxed. Fish and chips just okay.
came here for lunch. We were seated promptly. Waitress insisted on taking our order really quickly "before the kitchen backed up". At first I appreciated her helping us get out in a reasonable amount of time. 45 minutes later our food had still not arrived and I had leave.
Staff was accommodative - originally seated downstairs right under speaker blaring requested upstairs for a quieter dining. Warned that a table of 12 was coming. Could have been a rowdy group but as accountants they kept things to a low roar
We were in a hurry to get to our show but starving so we stopped in. Food was just ok, we had the chicken curry. However, the burgers looked fantastic. All the food was hot and delivered quickly. The service staff was friendly and attentive as well.
Great, authentic, Irish food offerings along with traditional bar food. Service was fantastic, seated quickly, served quickly. Very kid-friendly.
Met a few associates from work (8) for a retirement lunch and send off. Table was ready ahead of time, wait staff was very attentive, and everyone complemented on the food. Would come here again.
This Irish pub has classic menus selections with s couple of interesting twists. Good spot for a reasonably priced quick bite.
Looked for a place near Tiffany's that would please our group. Had something for all 4 of us. From Shepherd's Pie to wraps. We enjoyed the food and the service was good.
Great food! Met a charismatic Irish Gentleman.
He was a truely enjoyable host. My children loved the food. And my husbands fish was delish! Atmosphere was old school NYC, comfort with class. Will definitely return.
This was a solid ok. It could have been better if we actually had a server assigned to our table. The food was redeeming!
Probably the best potatoes skins in Midtown! The Shepards pie is a must :)
the upstairs is a sunnioer, the service fantastic, the food light easy and delicious. All for a good price
I really like the Times Square location, this one is terrible.
I have met friends at Connolly's at least 10 times in the past 2+ years and always come away satisfied. It's a nice break from work. While the food is a bit heavy, it's plenty good. The upstairs dining room is relaxing, and nicely warm on cold winter days. The service is polite and friendly. I'll be meeting friends here for years to come.
Friday night bar scene. Very noisy for dinner. Try a weekday. Food was good.
Went for a what needed to be an in and out working lunch. Although I had reserved via OpenTable a spot for four, we were seated at a small high top that usually accommodates two. Although the server constantly pased the table, there was no service. He needed to be flagged down for orders, refills, bill, etc. The food too too long to be served, and when it came it was not worth the wait. Gravy appeared to come from a package, bangers where over cooked, sandwiches were light and sloppily made.
Maybe it works after 5:00 with more of a focus on the "pub" and less on the "restaurant".
We enjoyed dinner here after seeing a show at Radio City in the late afternoon....wasn't super crowded at the early dinner hour and was great with kids. Very good food and reasonably priced!
We looked for a restaurant near our midtown hotel and found this Irish Pub and Restaurant gem. It truly was an enjoyable experience with good food at reasonable prices and great service.
The manager/maitre'd was very attentive and pleasant. He made our dining experience wonderful, however, our server did not. We would go back though! Overall experience very enjoyable.
Went with three grandchildren who ordered from regular menu and did't like taste of food. A lot of wasted food.
While making plans to eat in NYC, after celebrating at the Minus 5 Ice Bar, in the Hilton Hotel, I came across a few different restaurants in the area, one of which was Connolly's Pub & Restaurant. I asked my husband which he'd like to eat at and he said he was really looking forward to having his favorite, a Sheperd's Pie. We chose Connolly's and they didn't disappoint! My husband loved his meal, and my Peppercorn steak was delicious also. Our friends enjoyed their meals as well and the staff were very pleasant and attentive. I emailed beforehand that it was my husband's 70th birthday, and they had a piece of cheesecake with a candle all ready for him, a nice plus! I was bummed that they said they had run out of baked potatoes (?) but my mashed were tasty and I soon forgot my disappointment. I would definitely go back and try more of the menu at Connolly's! Great food!
Host was very friendly. Waiters were great. Food was delicious. Thank you!
If you are in the neighborhood and you are looking for an easy inexpensive and yummy lunch, Connolly's will do it for you! Great sandwiches. Welcoming service with a fun ad relaxing environment!
I ordered a Greek Salad and Chicken Pot Pie. The salad was fine but not exceptional. The pie had a fairly good puff pastry top but it covered an interior that was pretty much what you would get in the frozen food section of a grocery store. It was obviously not made from scratch. The cheesecake was Ok, but not much better than that... out of a box as well.
Service was slow.
Waitress was so nice and very accomendating
the owner greated us great experience going to broadway-Jersey Boys and topping our night with such a nice restaurant
Great place for a beer and burger befoe or after a visit to MoMA
Good Irish Pub. Good place to pregame before a show at Radio City, a couple of blocks away.
Last minute reservation - just needed to eat - boy were we pleasantly surprised.
Great Pub food, but better than typical "Pub" food.
Service was fantastic - friendly, attentive, knowledgeable.
The greeting and "thanks for coming" were warm and fun.
Really had a great time and a great meal.
We were pleased with our dinner here. We did not want a fancy, expensive restaurant nor did we want a "fast food" place. Connelly's fit the bill! The restaurant was comfortable, the menu was varied and satisfied all tastes, the wait staff were considerate and eager to please. Six of us were very pleased.
My husband were looking for a good Irish pub restaurant for a while and in the city they are all closing etc.
Now we found Connelly's on 54 Street. Our servers were great, Kevin and Alessandro terrific. Lisa was the hostess and she was lovely also.
The food was very good and the Bloody Mary was superb!
A great spot for a beer and a wrap before or after a visit to MoMA. Love the Coleman's mustard.
Great value in an expensive neighborhood. Welcoming maitre'd.
If you're looking for a nice quiet unpretentious meal with a warm, welcoming service, you can never go wrong here. They really make you feel at home!
Good pub fare at reasonable prices made my dining experience quite enjoyable. The chicken bruschetta panini was delicious and filling. The fries were a bit over done and the Manhattan clam chowder, fair. The place was easy to find and the service, very good. Both the server and manager(?) stopped by frequently to make sure everything was to my liking. I'd definitely swing by for another meal the next time I'm in the area. Oh and ask to be seated on the second floor if you are looking to have a meal that's on the quieter side.
We decided to forgo the Steak House scene and go our for a fun dinner. The pink Valentines Day special menu wrapped in lace was a nice touch and added a little romance and ambiance to the evening. The host and server were outstanding. Both were highly attentive and showed genuine interest in providing us with an excellent experience.
Location is good. Food is basic pub food. Certainly satisfying and in good -sixed portions.Drinks however were over -priced considering the small size of the glasses and the high price for them.
We have been there before but I don't think we shall go back again.
The food was delicious and the owner was very nice to us. The service was very well and friendly. I would recommend the shepherds pie!
When I'm in the area I usually go to the Connelly's at 45th Street; I decided to try 54th Street for a change. The staff was welcoming, pleasant, attentive and not overwhelming. My date and I shared the calamari as an appetizer, and two of the specials, a burger and pasta with shrimp. Everything was full of flavor, and just the right amount was served. We sat in a booth downstairs so I didn't see what the upper level looked like. There was a hopping bar at the back, but we didn't hear them until we used the facilities. Personally, I'll take a good dose of pub food over an over-priced, gimicky theater-district restaurant any day.
Great food great atmosphere. The bar downstairs was very cool.
Good food, good service and very convenient midtown location for lunch and dinner. Upstairs is preferred as downstairs is very noisy.
