Connolly's Pub and Restaurant - 47th Ratings and Reviews
While the food was mostly good, within my party of 10 there were some complaints about the over breaded crab cakes and the under cooked pasta.
Also the service is rather slow with large parties I noticed. It took a while for the waitress to come back to check for refills.
I met some friends for lunch, people that I hadn't seen for about 15 years. We were able to catch up, enjoy a delicious lunch, and enjoy the time together at a cozy table near the fireplace. The wait staff didn't make us feel rushed, and they allowed us to take our time.
The calimari was the best that I have had anywhere. It was tender and scrumptious! Salads were fabulous as well. I highly recommend the Greek Goddess.
I thought prices were reasonable, especially for midtown Manhattan.
I will definitrly visit again!
Thank you to manager and wait staff for allowing us time to get reacquainted!
On a very crowded Sunday, doing the Rockefeller Center thing, we found this amazing restaurant! It's a little off the beaten path, but we enjoyed the food and atmosphere. It was not that busy, so it was actually on the quiet side and much welcomed! Food and service were good, prices excellent for that area of NYC! Would definitely return & recommend.
We recently had a lunch with 10 family members and friends. We moved our reservation to earlier in the morning due to travel issues and the staff was very accommodating. We were greeted with welcome smiles and warmth. The atmosphere is original and inviting. There were many compliments from the group on their food including the beef stew, fish and chips, chicken pot pie and turkey wraps. We interacted with several of the staff members and they were all delightful. One server even took our picture to document our visit to NYC. We had a relaxing, no pressure, delicious lunch, with a wonderful atmosphere.
Met my niece here for lunch as it was a good midway point between work locations. The upstairs area is more accommodating for a sit-down meal (first floor has the larger bar). We were seated by the window looking out onto the street--not many tables by the window but, unfortunately, construction outside requires scaffolding which blocks the view. The waiter was quite nice and made our meal comfortable. We ordered the wings for an appetizer, she had a burger and I the chicken wrap; both came with fries. We were actually quite full once we were done. I would recommend reservations as it appears to be a popular spot. No complaints!
The staff is incompetent...had to wait over 30 minutes just to place an order. On top of that, they charge you full price for each club soda refill. In addition, as I and my friend were eating out appetizers or meals, the bus boy was ready to take our plates away. I was literally chewing my second to last bite for my entree, when he pulled it away from me!
Overall, the food is typical decent pub/bar fare, bartenders were nice but the wait staff is horrendous. Go across the street to Maggie's Place.
