Pleasantly surprised on the quality of the food and one of the best Shepard’s pie ever had. Very quick turnaround on food.
We were able to take our time eating with our party of six even though it had gotten crowded. No rush!
Atmosphere and food was excellent. We sat a few times waiting for the server and it wasn’t very busy. For the most part she was friendly.
Stumbled on this place by chance, and will definitely be back.
Came to NYC to grab a lunch before seeing a show. Service and food was perfect and location was just right! I’ve been here before and will definitely be back!
Had lunch here before a show at the Lyceum theater this past Sat. Was uncrowded at 12 but quickly filled up. My friend and I had burgers that were perfectly cooked and very good. And they gave a generous pour on our wine!
We had a family reunion mid-afternoon lunch for 12 people. We were seated upstairs which worked great because it was practically empty. Towards the end of lunch the upstairs bar opened and it got a bit noisy for conversation but reasonable given the type of restaurant. The food was okay. There were not complaints about the food but not a lot of raving about it.
The potato/leek soup was delicious! The service could have been better as I had a reservation and was seated in a noisy area.
After looking at reviews, this looked like a great place for our group to have lunch. The beer was flat and had to be sent back and the food was so so. The Shepard pie had hard to find vegetables in it. The food was warm not hot. Just disappointed we didn't go somewhere else.
We ate at Connelly's on 12/2, arriving at 11:50. We were seated immediately upstairs. First thing we did not like is that our small party of three was seated next to a big table of loud people. This was when there were many available tables. I thought, perhaps, it was due to the same Server working with both tables but that was not the case, two different servers. Second, our server while pleasant was not friendly. She spoke very fast and seemed irritated when we had to ask her to repeat (due to the loud table next to us). She was not available when needed and was instead standing at the bar talking. The soups we ordered (Potato Leek and Irish Onion) were good after they cooled (served scalding hot). The Bangers and Mash was just ok and we found the Shephard's Pie to be pretty blah. For the prices ($18 for Shepard's Pie alone) I didn't expect Cordon Bleu but I did expect better.
Excellent food and very attentive waitress. Good value.
Got to the restaurant before our reservation so had some drinks at the bar area - great drinks! We were quickly seated, and the service was fantastic. Ordered some more drinks, server made some recommendations. All the food was so good!! Best chicken pot pie!! We will definitely be back!
Bartender Patrick is a great guy and makes good drinks too. Fun place.
Very good Irish pub. A little noisy, so not the best place for a quiet conversation, but good for a good meal.
Going to Connolly's Pub was a last minute decision and we were not disappointed! Quick to be seated, nice atmosphere and the owner (?) had a nice Irish accent. Our waiter was attentive without being intrusive. With 4 of us and a couple of drinks it was less than $85 sans tip. Excellent for NYC!!
I ordered a crab cake dish which consisted of one of the smallest crab cakes I’ve ever seen. Also, we had a drink spill at our table and it was 10 minutes before we could get staff to give us extra napkins to clean it up.
Nice place , very good food my burger was amazing . Good selection of food and drink. Great service i would go back again.
I went for a quick bite pre-theatre. For this it was fine. The service was helpful and polite. The food was fine for the price. However, the music was so loud that I was thankful I was alone and didn't have to talk!
We went after a matinee to satisfy a meat-and-potatoes father, a salad-loving sister, and an appetizer-loving spouse. We thought the nachos and all our meals were very good. No complaints about the food or the service.
Went here on a recommendation. Everything was fantastic! We had the pretzel for an appetizer to share as we didn’t want to get too full and it was delicious and a perfect size for what we wanted. Then we decided to have the Irish dishes - Shepard’s pie and the chicken pot pie - both delicious! I definitely recommend Connolly’s!
