Great ambience on Rooftop even though it was a bitterly cold day. Food was delicious and served timely. Would definitely go back. Only drawback? Thought/hoped by using Open Table we would have a reserved table not stuck next to the front door (which would have been blasted by incredibly cold air each time it opened) or told to eat upstairs (which would have been exceptional had the heat remained at a consistent warm temp).
Hardly any of the wait staff wore masks so I will not be going back here anytime soon.
Everything we had was delicious! The staff was awesome. Our server recommended the cheesecake with Irish cream, I believe it has ruined me for all other cheesecakes.
Great food, great service, and quick too! Went before a show and had no problem getting to the show on time.
We enjoyed our evening at Connolly’s. Food was delicious. We will be back. Our table location was a bit chilly with other guests continuing to open slider door to go out to smoke.
Our waiter was awesome. Provided great service and had a great sense of humor.
Great menu options, near the heart of Times Square. Service was quick, efficient and accurate.
We had reservations for 5 at 7:45, and were seated quickly after a quick vac check. It was noisy and pretty crowded, but after a brief wait our drink and food orders were taken. Our orders arrived in a timely manner and everyone at the table seemed pleased with the meal. We enjoyed another good time at Connelly’s and plan to return on our next trip to NYC!
We came to NYC for a holiday vacation with the family. We stayed nearby and found Connellys online when we were looking for someplace to eat our first night. Did not expect the food to be so good! Restaurant is beautiful, food is excellent as was the service. Would come again.
LOVE this place!!!!! My husband and I have been coming here for years. The staff is always so welcoming. Bernie is the best!! Always a good meal at reasonable prices.
Although I reserved a table over a week in advance, when I arrived there was no proof of reservation and the host did not seem to care. He was rude and luckily they happened to have a table that they put us at. I’m not certain why this happened, but I was seriously disappointed since I had come with a friend via train from 2 hours away to eat prior to seeing a Broadway show.
Apparently, some step of this process fell apart or was rudely disregarded.
We never went here because we were 3 minutes late and they cancelled our reservation.
The food was great. It was crowded and loud. The service was as good as it could have been with the packed restaurant.
We were very disappointed in the service. The servers passed our table SEVERAL times without asking if we needed another drink, if everything was okay. We had to flag them down and it was unpleasant at best. We've been here several times before but I doubt we will be returning any time soon.
Always a favourite when in NYC. Amazing Staff, food and atmosphere.
Food was fine and service was good. I was surprised that the restaurant does not adhere to COVID protocol. Vaccines were not required and no staff wore masks.
First, we made reservations on open table and hostess laughed saying I couldn’t have?!? She sends us upstairs to the rooftop. The waitress came over for drinks and we never saw her again.. at all. 30 min later we’re still sitting there with menus waiting to order. So I finally flag someone who works there to order. Tips if you happen to not read my above review… 1. Never ever.. get the nachos Nirvana. Small, tasteless and there’s about 8 burnt chips. 2. Don’t go hungry because the food is not good. Kids had mozzarella sticks, hubby got a burger and my tiny wings and one small piece of celery for what we paid we left still starving and we never got another drink because the service WAS terrible! Never again would ever go there and left disappointed as well as hungry. Live and learn sadly
I enjoyed the full Irish breakfast, which was a good value for a restaurant in midtown Manhattan. I've been there twice, both times dining alone, and I think the large TV screens are helpfully entertaining for those dining alone. The service is fast, which I appreciate. On the negative side, you don't seem to have any one single server responsible for your table, thus no one stops to follow up and ensure your food came out to your liking or if you want any additional food/drink. You simply need to catch whoever is running past your table, and your request does always get to the kitchen or bartender.
I was very disappointed that our vaccination cards and ID’s were not requested when entering, and was also concerned. The other member in my party also felt uncomfortable, but said we should stay. I was disappointed that the staff was not masked. I saw only one person on the staff with a mask, but it was not covering his mouth or nose.
The food was fine, but once the order was taken, the server did not return to ask about the meal or to see if we wanted anything else, including drink. A different server came to ask about dessert, but also did not return to ask if we wanted coffee refills or anything more.
Because of the lack of adhering to the safety protocols of NYC, I will not return to this establishment.
Our reservations we on time, great seating and service. We enjoyed our meals and would return again.
My god...how awful can a place be in one sitting? We literally waited 30 min for utensils and someone to take our order. The English breakfast had dried out puddings, severely undercooked bacon, cold beans, half ripe tomatoes and they somehow managed to undercooked an over easy egg. My wife got the eggs Benedict and had to send it back because the eggs were hard boiled and the bacon almost raw. Bloody mary was horrible, mimosa was weak and it was undoubtedly the worst, slowest service I ever had in a restaurant.
The food was very average. Fish and chips: chips were fine. Fish was tasteless and too much breading. Tartar sauce was disappointing.
The place was loud.
The service was good. The food came out fast.
Average. That is all!
Hard pass. Regret not just leaving. Host was a hot mess and groups ahead of us and our group were never asked for vax info as is required. Didn’t down on us until we were seated. Thankfully had space around us and are all vaxxed. Food was poor at best and everyone left at least half their meal for the trash. Kilkenny pint was the bright spot and our server was good. But food quality makes it worth going elsewhere. Never brought up food or anything just wanted to get out as soon as we could and thought it wasn’t as much preps as that just how they make it and poor ingredients. Any re-fires we’re going to be the same thing.
We've eaten here a few times. Its location is convenient for a matinee. The menu offers a nice variety of lunchtime favorites. The service is accommodating. Overall, a good choice for a pleasant lunch.
El desayuno estuvo muy bueno y gran cantidad.El servicio la mesera se perdió varias veces y la otra que nos atendio no nos dejaba terminar de hablar.
We’ve been to Connolly’s before and really like it. Unfortunately, this time we had a server who was just not attentive. After we were seated, we waited about 15 minutes before the server came to our table for drink orders. After we placed our food order, the food didn’t come out for a long time. People who came in after us were being served, but not us. After 40 minutes, we called our server over to ask about our food. She seemed surprised we hadn’t received it and went to check on it. She came back about 5 minutes later and informed us she forgot to submit our order! She was very apologetic and got the order prepared right away then,.
Service was very slow. We sat on the rooftop and it appeared that our server had the majority of the tables, it wasn’t her fault. She tried, I don’t think they have enough staff to take care of the number of tables they seat. The food was average, nothing special. Ambiance was great, great location.
Very busy and servers forgot to put our food order in.
Sweet staff kept apologizing but couldn’t get their act together. This is a fun bar but don’t go pre-theater if you are on a schedule. Food is pub food and totally fine.
The hostess was very accommodating. We came into town late due to a travel delay. I made several attempts to call ahead to see if I could get a grace period w/ no answer. Once we arrived, they were able to find a table, which was appreciated.
They were short staffed but still good w/ little delay
They didn't check my vaccine status and there wasn't a mask to be seen. I left and went next door.
Great atmosphere, tasty food, and convenient location!
They were very accommodating as we had a personal in a chair and needed ground floor seating. They opened their side pub for us and our server was attentive and kind
If you’re looking for fish & chips or shepherds pie, they had pretty good options. And you could watch college football for a bit as well. We sat in the rooftop area. It was a busy Sunday morning, and service was a little overwhelmed. They were super polite though. Probably a little understaffed due to covid. I will say that it was very warm, too warm, but nice and bright.
Went there after a Broadway show. First time there...did not disappoint. It's fun place...staff friendly and very responsive. Would definitely recommend and definitely plan on going back when I'm back in the city for another play!
We've eaten here several times. The food is good and the service commendable. The location is close to the theatres. Overall, a good choice for a pre-theatre lunch.
Great Irish pub to get a good meal and drink. Service is quick and friendly. This is our go to place when we are in Mid town.
Had a great experience the waitress was fun and up beat food was great and the drink was strong as hell which means it was fabulous, was a great birthday weekend
Our waitress was noticeably intoxicated, she checked back several times because she had forgotten our drink and food orders. She never bothered to write anything down and at one point just slid into the booth next to me to go over the menu items again. My husband got violently ill within 30-60 minutes after leaving, and although management and staff were notified we never received a response. There are a dozen other restaurants within a stones throw, go anywhere but Connolly’s.
Food was excellent. Server was overwhelmed. Short staffed, as are many places. Was surprised that the first floor restaurant wasn’t open when we arrived. We had to go to roof top. They seemed to be overwhelmed. No one the to seat us or say to seat yourself. Very confusing. Hoping next time the main first floor will be open.
