Hard pass. Regret not just leaving. Host was a hot mess and groups ahead of us and our group were never asked for vax info as is required. Didn’t down on us until we were seated. Thankfully had space around us and are all vaxxed. Food was poor at best and everyone left at least half their meal for the trash. Kilkenny pint was the bright spot and our server was good. But food quality makes it worth going elsewhere. Never brought up food or anything just wanted to get out as soon as we could and thought it wasn’t as much preps as that just how they make it and poor ingredients. Any re-fires we’re going to be the same thing.
We've eaten here a few times. Its location is convenient for a matinee. The menu offers a nice variety of lunchtime favorites. The service is accommodating. Overall, a good choice for a pleasant lunch.
El desayuno estuvo muy bueno y gran cantidad.El servicio la mesera se perdió varias veces y la otra que nos atendio no nos dejaba terminar de hablar.
We’ve been to Connolly’s before and really like it. Unfortunately, this time we had a server who was just not attentive. After we were seated, we waited about 15 minutes before the server came to our table for drink orders. After we placed our food order, the food didn’t come out for a long time. People who came in after us were being served, but not us. After 40 minutes, we called our server over to ask about our food. She seemed surprised we hadn’t received it and went to check on it. She came back about 5 minutes later and informed us she forgot to submit our order! She was very apologetic and got the order prepared right away then,.
Service was very slow. We sat on the rooftop and it appeared that our server had the majority of the tables, it wasn’t her fault. She tried, I don’t think they have enough staff to take care of the number of tables they seat. The food was average, nothing special. Ambiance was great, great location.
Very busy and servers forgot to put our food order in.
Sweet staff kept apologizing but couldn’t get their act together. This is a fun bar but don’t go pre-theater if you are on a schedule. Food is pub food and totally fine.
The hostess was very accommodating. We came into town late due to a travel delay. I made several attempts to call ahead to see if I could get a grace period w/ no answer. Once we arrived, they were able to find a table, which was appreciated.
They were short staffed but still good w/ little delay
They didn't check my vaccine status and there wasn't a mask to be seen. I left and went next door.
Great atmosphere, tasty food, and convenient location!
They were very accommodating as we had a personal in a chair and needed ground floor seating. They opened their side pub for us and our server was attentive and kind
If you’re looking for fish & chips or shepherds pie, they had pretty good options. And you could watch college football for a bit as well. We sat in the rooftop area. It was a busy Sunday morning, and service was a little overwhelmed. They were super polite though. Probably a little understaffed due to covid. I will say that it was very warm, too warm, but nice and bright.
Went there after a Broadway show. First time there...did not disappoint. It's fun place...staff friendly and very responsive. Would definitely recommend and definitely plan on going back when I'm back in the city for another play!
We've eaten here several times. The food is good and the service commendable. The location is close to the theatres. Overall, a good choice for a pre-theatre lunch.
Great Irish pub to get a good meal and drink. Service is quick and friendly. This is our go to place when we are in Mid town.
Had a great experience the waitress was fun and up beat food was great and the drink was strong as hell which means it was fabulous, was a great birthday weekend
Our waitress was noticeably intoxicated, she checked back several times because she had forgotten our drink and food orders. She never bothered to write anything down and at one point just slid into the booth next to me to go over the menu items again. My husband got violently ill within 30-60 minutes after leaving, and although management and staff were notified we never received a response. There are a dozen other restaurants within a stones throw, go anywhere but Connolly’s.
Food was excellent. Server was overwhelmed. Short staffed, as are many places. Was surprised that the first floor restaurant wasn’t open when we arrived. We had to go to roof top. They seemed to be overwhelmed. No one the to seat us or say to seat yourself. Very confusing. Hoping next time the main first floor will be open.
Walnut crusted Salmon and Chicken Pot Pie was great… great service
Two of our orders in a party of six were wrong. We told the waitress and she said it would be corrected. Then we never saw her again until it was time for the check! No drink refills. No order correction. A different waitress tried to help, but the corrected order came cold. And then we were billed for the items even though we were told it would be taken off the bill.
The manager came and took the items off the bill and was very apologetic, but it was a very disappointing experience. (And it was not so crowded that the waitress was overwhelmed).
The staff were so inviting and made our evening very enjoyable. I would definitely go back
Classic, iconic menu for an Irish pub. The Shepard's Pie was great, as was the Lamb Burger. Wine is always a shortfall in pubs. I get it, it is about beer. Having said that, if an Irish Pub gets a reputation for having at least a decent selection of wines, their wine-drinking friends and spouses wouldn't moan when the beer-drinkers suggess an Irish Pub. Give it a go...what can it hurt? .
This was a very loud pub. The food was very mediocre it was mostly a bridge and tunnel type crowd. I don’t recommend if you’re looking for a place to hold a conversation
I have been coming to Connolly's Pub for years. My husband's favorite spot. Wonderful Irish Pub. Love to see the first responders patches over the bar. The food as always was great. The Irish cheesecake has to be the creamiest cheesecake. Servers are attentive. This is the first time since the pandemic begin that we have been back. Nice to see some things have stayed the same!
Thank you for your service. The food and beverages were excellent. A great family atmosphere
Food was excellent, servers were helpful and friendly! The rooftop seating was a treat
Great Steak! Friendly service!
The service was great and the burgers we ordered were each cooked to order and were delicious. A great spot just off of Times Square.
Gerry was a great guy. Staff was very accommodating. Food, drinks and music were great. Highly recommend.
The food was average, the ambiance was good, the staff was friendly
Great the people where nice
Totally felt COVID-safe here- they took our temps before letting us come inside and bathrooms were super clean. The food was awesome and portions were way big for the price. DIdn't feel touristy even tho we were in a super touristy section of the city and it was cozy and warm on a nice crisp fall nite. Had the Irish Beef Stew special and it was delightful!
Outstanding!! Love this place!!
Pleasant experience ! Connolly’s Red a good one!
We come here EVERY time we come to the city!! Whether it's to see a play, visit fir the day to hand around Central Park or see the City at Christmas time! We ALWAYS make our way to this location for the good food, great hospitality and overall great time!! SLAINTE!!!!!
Great place to go for lunch or dinner especially if you are seeing a show. The restaurant is on 45th St. in the heart of the theater district, so it is an easy walk to or from most theaters. The decor is reminiscent of a vintage gentlemen’s club... nice bar, dark wood with a definite Irish vibe. The wait staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and the food was great. Pub food with an Irish flair. (Prices I thought were pretty reasonable.)... Worth every penny.
Great food fun atmosphere
Had a 5:15 reservation and arrived at 5:00 abc were seated right away .
Friendly service. Manager came over to check on us . We skipped desert as it got very busy and we didn’t want to be late for the show . Would definitely return. Food was very good and a nice atmosphere . I’d say a step above the regular Irish pub .
Booked this as it was close to the hotel and we were
Tired from traveling and sightseeing our first day. Wait staff was super friendly and helpful. Yummy French onion soup, chicken curry, and Caesar salad. Brussel sprouts also very good. Convenient and a solid meal!
Crab cakes were good as was fish and chips. Waitress not very friendly, rather snobby. Never said hello or told us her name.
Great food, service, and music.
