Concordville Inn Ratings and Reviews
Server acted like she was irritated to wait on me and my daughters. Long wait to order, very little checking back in once food finally came. Entrees were good, but vegetables were obviously not fresh, which for the price, was surprising. Not what we expected
Everything was up to our expectations except for her filet. It was ordered as medium well; the first time it was rare, next it was rare... The third time it was med well; it messes with the enjoyment of eating together. The matre de was responsive to remedy the situation. Once of the best restaurants for value and consistent quality.
Went for dinner New Years Eve, because the limited menu looked pretty good. ( and it was)
Problem was the table we were seated at was right in the flow of traffic, and it wasn't conducive for a relaxing evening with the floor shaking whenever someone walked by. The maitre'd offered another table when I asked, but there weren't very many good choices to be had, so we stayed put. The waitress must have thought we left, because we had to call for some attention after 30 minutes to put in our cocktail orders. When I asked for information on a wine selection, the waitress said there was pinot grigio, chardonnay, merlot, etc. but no wine menu was provided until later in our meal. We'll go back for another try. New Years Eve is not the best time to judge a restaurant, but it is definitely not comparable to it's sister restaurant, Mendenhall Inn, which is one of our long time favorites .
We went there New Years Eve and I found both the food and service excellent. I had Surf and Turf and the Lobster was excellent and the Prime Ribs perfectly cooked (rare) and delicious and I'm a finicky eater. So I give Concordville an A+ and this was the first time I ate there in 25 years.
I have dined at this restaurant in the past but I was very disappointed this time around. We ate at the restaurant on NYE for brunch. I thought there would be a special dining experience for the holiday. It was not. First, our waitress did not show any warmth or hospitality. However, I can get past poor service when the food is good. It was not! The waffle iron area was so messy that I immediately lost my appetite for it. The mimosa fountain tasted like the orange juice was sour. Overall, the food presentation was messy and unclean. The staff that should have been monitoring the cleanliness was engrossed in the Eagles game. I definitely prefer the Mendenhall Inn location. We wanted a fine dining experience to bring in the new year and this did not deliver. Also brunch was advertised to be over at 3:00. At 2:26, a staff member came around asking if we wanted anything else from the buffet because they were going to start putting the food away. I will not be going back for this brunch.
Food was not very good at all. Surf and turf and the filet was tasteless and they tried to make up for it with a demi glaze that was bad. Appetizer was shrimp wrapped in bacon and it was served In bbq sauce which was just strange. Service was not very good either as we told the server the food was not good and she just shrugged and made no offer to make something else or otherwise try to make our experience better. It’s a shame. This used to be a good place but not any more.
Met a couple friends their for lunch. They seated us promptly. Waiter informed us of the specials. My friends had the stuffed tilapia. It was stuffed with Crab Meat. I had a Hamburger. My friends said the tilapia was good. The fish itself they said was kind of bland but the crabmeat was really good. They said they would get it again. As for me, my Burger was quite juicy and tasty . I really enjoyed the burger. I definitely would get the burger again !
So all in all we had a good lunch. They didn’t pressure us to leave once we finished eating. The waiter quietly dropped off the check and we just carried on our conversation. Definitely a good place to go for Brunch on Sundays, or lunch or dinner anytime.
I can't say enough about my brunch experience at The Concordville Inn. My daughter graduated from WCU and we all went to have brunch after in the Ballroom at Concordville Inn. Even though there were major differences in diet and palates, everyone really enjoyed themselves and had plenty of choices on the buffet. It was well worth it and we will all remember it for a long time. Highlights include- omelet station, prime rib, crab cakes, mimosas, chocolate fountain, waffles...etc...etc....
We attended for the Breakfast with Santa. Our waiters were terrific but the rest of the servers who were serving the food were not good. The carvers misplaced the carving knives and there was no bagel cutter. We go every year so may look for a new place next year. We were tucked away in a corner by the rest room. Not the best place to have breakfast
Been going there for years for the Santa brunch but extremely disappointed this year. Waited almost a half hour to be seated. We were seated in the back room in the corner although we had 10am reservations and only one other table in the room was occupied. Very slow drink service. Not sure we’re going back.
The food and service was very good. What was very disappointing was being seated at a very small table right by the kitchen. The place was not crowded at all, in fact there was hardly anyone there, we could have been put at a better table. I asked if there was another table available and the hostess just stared at us, we almost left, but we were hungry and know the food is usually pretty good. Not sure if we will go back.
Hands down my worst dining experience ever. We came here for my husband's birthday dinner and what a mistake. We go to mendenhall inn all the time and love it there, concordville inn is associated with mendenhall so we had the same expectations. Our waitress was amiss most of the time but became even more so when returned our food for being overcooked. The manager (im assuming he was the manager) then came over with a very condescending tone and stated "we only cook duck well done here". Then the waitress should have told me that when I ordered it medium rare. I opted to not have a replacement meal because I was annoyed at that point. They re-coomed my husband's meal and removed it from the check, we got it to go because we wanted to leave at that point. We were there on a wine special night but when we received our bill the wine was full priced I'm assuming because the meals had been removed but how is it our fault they messed our food up? The wine should have been discounted. Needless to say we had a birthday redo somewhere else. I will never step foot in this place again.
This restaurant was within walking distance of our hotel. The service and ambience was excellent. The quality of the food varied. We ate there both Thursday and Friday night. The lobster tail, stuffed flounder, and snapper soup were very good. The salads were ok. The crab cakes were not good - too much filler and too little crab. We had drinks both night and the wine was good. The price was very reasonable - both nights dinner with drinks and dessert cost under $90 including tip.
The quality of the food has fallen over the last 3 or 4 times we have gone to Concordville Inn for Sunday Brunch. The shrimp is really small. The breakfast sausage is small and not as tasty. The bacon was not as crispy as it should be. The desserts were so so...........I had a small piece of cheesecake..I ate only part of it. It was incredibly dry. The selection of breakfast pastry did not look appetizing. For the money you pay you should get a higher quality. Our server was nice.
The menu selection was great. Both the shrimp bisque and the snapper soup were excellent. The meal - soup, salad, fillet mignon with two sides and dessert - was an outstanding value. We went there to celebrate my cousin'd birthday and both she and her husband were delighted. The servers were attentive, helpful and fun. The desserts were excellent as well. We will definitely be back!
