We went for the Caribbean Dinner Series. They were serving a Haitian menu with cocktail pairings. Three courses for $45, and 4 cocktails for $30. I asked them if it was a misprint! The food was so delicious, and the cocktails with each course made sense! Great bargain, great food, and a nice atmosphere for any occasion. I love this restaurant and will go as often as I can!

Chef Nina Compton is BRILLIANT! We have eaten here multiple times because this restaurant is always fabulous. We opted for her Trinidad & Tobago tasting menu. It was incredible. The special one week menu was creative, authentic and simply delicious. Our whole party was sad to not be able to return this week for her taste of Haiti. Before we left we booked a larger table for her St. Lucia tasting menu during the last week of September.

Food and service were amazing. The restaurant was super loud. The table next to us was way too close. Waiters bumped us every time they went through with food. We were also against the half wall of the bar and the group there was facing us so I felt like there was no privacy. After they left it was much better.

Menu series inspired by Trinidad and Tobago. Delicious from start to finish. Phylorri, curried duck, stewed pumpkin, roti, rum cake with cardamom ice cream. Just wow!

CL is in star + Michelin territory without the pomp & pretense. Great in every way. Casual and exceptional, classy and down to earth. Will be a place to revisit in NOLA and that is sayin something in that restaurant paradise .

We had dinner at Compère Lapin during our last visit to NOLA. We were so impressed last time that it was the only restaurant on our return list this trip. Everything was more than could be expected.

Fabulous fabulous fabulous. The wine was amazing. The conch croquettes with pineapple sauce was the best we have ever tasted. The snapper tasted like it swum to the plate. The sweet potato gnocchi was scrumptious. The biscuits were delectable. Crispy potatoes also five star and black eyed peas awesome. Great place!

Unique menu, delicious dishes, great cocktails and wine list. Our server was lovely and helpful. Highly recommend!

Note: If you are sensitive to air fresheners or chemical fragrances ask for a table far from the hotel lobby- the hotel OVERLY scents it and it wafts into the front dining area and bar. Not pleasant.

Delicious unique food options. I had half a dozen oysters as a first and their house made hot sauce was delicious. The wait staff was friendly and kept water glasses filled at all times. The manager stopped by and was friendly and welcoming. My main was the curried goat with sweet potato gnocchi and cashews and it was full of deep flavors and such a comfort-inducing dish. Finished with the roasted Nutella and banana zeppole with rum caramel , so good!!

This is some of the best food I have tasted. We did the Cuban tasting menu and it was interesting, exciting, complex, and fun. What a wonderful all-around experience. My partner doesn't even like dessert and ate almost every last bite of the coconut flan. Compere Lapin is definitely on the top of my list of recommendations for dining out in New Orleans.

Service by Nicole was exceptional; beginning to end. Greeting at the door was friendly and prompt and the space is lovely. The food was exceptional; especially the cow heel soup. I will return frequently. Go with no worries

We couldn’t have been happier dining at Compère Lapin. The service was top notch from the lovely hostess who greeted and sat us, our fantastic waitress, and the manager who chatted with and thanked us as we left. True southern hospitality.

The meal was one of the best I’ve ever had. They bring fresh baked biscuits with bacon butter over to the table to start you off. The biscuits were so flakey and we nearly licked the butter off the board.

We started with the dirty rice arroncini, the tuna tartar, and the broiled shrimp with Calabrian chili butter. All were fantastic and just the right portions. For entrees, we went with the adobo pork and the jerk chicken. The meat on both dishes was so tender it melted in your mouth.

For sides we got the crispy potatoes and the black eyed peas with bacon. The peas are a MUST! Best part of the meal in my option.

Dessert was also a knock out. The banana hazelnut fritters tasted like a cross between banana bread and donut. They were served hot with a salted caramel sauce. The passion fruit mousse was the perfect palate cleanser and ended our meal on a lighter note.

All in all one of the best dining experience of my life. Will be back the next time we visit New Orleans!

Amazing offerings! We enjoyed everything we ordered! Red Snapper was the winning dish! 2 of us ordered the Coolinary experience, (price fixe (?)). Our waitress was nice enough to take a pic of Nina Compton for us! Would definitely recommend!

Mignon was a terrific server. Harrison, an affable maitre’d. And Joey, the bartender, not only has an encyclopedic knowledge of cocktails, but was exceedingly approachable as well.

Every detail is planned out to make this an exceptional experience. Mignon our server was so astute in her observations and with a great personality was able to recommend options based on a directed line of questioning to gauge our preferences. The food is out of this world - they incorporate unique combinations of flavors both familiar and unfamiliar. Try the ceviche, please for the love of all that is true and holy.

Having experienced a few restaurants during Coolinary week, I was very happy with the entire experience at Compere Lapin. The friendly attitude and warm welcome set the tone for what is one of the finest meals in the city. Unique plates with unique ingredients and a chance to chat with our servers who want our meal and beverages to suit our palates.
We will definitely return and appreciate how easy it was to reserve a table through Open Table!

Such a treat! We took advantage of the Coolinary Pre Fixe menu and it was amazing! Our Server "Mignon" was delightful and really gave us the best recommendations. We ordered cocktails, and for our first course had the Whipped Ricotta (DELICIOUS) and the Cabio Ceviche (Great w a kick)... for entree we had the Snapper (Amazing) and the Plantain Gnudi (yummy with a great sauce and profile but "different" so not sure I'd order again as an entree) We had one of each of the desserts: Peaches were okay but the Soursop was really interesting and light and perfect for the palette at the end. We will be back!

After reading a bunch of reviews, we decided to check this place out for dinner. Bottom line: run do not walk to experience this awesome restaurant. We will be back. Do get the “Coolinary menu” if available. It is like $39 for three fantastic courses and LOTS of food (go hungry...trust me). Only critique: for a place called “compere lapin “ I thought there would be seared/roasted saddle of rabbit or at least lapin a la moutarde...but this is minor. I’ll be back!

Our waitress Mignon was fabulous. The menu offered a variety of exotic dishes. The curried goat dish was delicious. Everything was very good!
