We always enjoy our meals here. It is recommended to go with more people (the portions are meant to be shared) but we don't mind left overs. The service is always good.
I really wanted to like this place but the food is incredibly lackluster, I had the special pasta, flavor was there but the pasta was incredibly under cooked even for al dente. Polenta bland and nothing special, beet salad is a good idea but use some decent cheese and how about not small dicing the beets so you have some texture or even better roast the baby beets and don’t cover up all your hard work with a mound or arugula. I know this sounds harsh but you can do better. I haven’t wrote you off completely but properly training and some attention to detail can pay off threefold. I wish you the best.
Usually love this restaurant's farm-to-table menu but had the misfortune of being served a very undercooked pork chop that definitely needed another round on the grill. As it wasn't busy; not sure what was going on.
Rest of the meal was fantastic as always.
I was disappointed that the menu online was not the menu offered. Prices where higher than expected. Food was great and I would go there again.
Excellent service, perfectly cooked chicken and trout and amazing dessert and charcuterie platter! The mashed potatoes were a little boring and the mousse serving was huge (way more dessert than we needed), but was still amazing. We were extremely happy with the service and the quality of the food.
Eating at Communal was a fabulous experience. The service was outstanding and the waiter very knowledgeable of the cuisine composition. I am very supportive of restaurants that have shorter menus and specialize in specific dishes and Communal was great at that. I would recommend Communal to all.
Third time there for dinner. Fabulous and inventive food. The server knew the menu well and was very friendly. Everyone there had a genuine interest in and excitement about the food they served. Outstanding experience.

This used to be one of our very favorite restaurants in Provo. When they first opened, every dish was amazing and new and different. We have not been coming i
as often recently but on our last two visits, we have been disappointed that the food is just okay and has lost its magic. The price has gone up tremendously as well.
I was extremely disappointed by this visit. We went for a celebration and thank goodness the company was good, because it made up for the one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. I had high hopes that this restaurant would have creative cuisine of interest to foodies. While the food was fine in flavor it was nothing special. The real problem was that the dishes served were NOT what was listed on the menu. Really? I’ve never experienced something like that before. It’s like they thought they could trick their diners because most people wouldn’t know the difference.
Fantastic food, great service and atmosphere.
We made a reservation for a private table. For whatever reason they put us at the communal table. When we sat down, my plate was dirty and our glasses had been already filled with water... It was sketchy.
Our waiter was the just the worst. He got us drinks and took our orders. He then decided to stand at the bar and just chat with the chef. Never asking if we wanted another drink. The only reason I've given them a fair rating on service is the manager came to check on us and refilled our water.
Food is very tasty . Interesting menu. Portions are to be shared. Yes . Licensed.
Great food and service. Constant attention but not annoying.
Used to be great. Not anymore. New chef. Very overpriced and over flavored food. Even a simple vegetable dishe like broccolini was drowning in oil, and why ruin a squash dish (which was barely cooked so very hard- not at all roasted like menu said) with a béchamel sauce? We ordered the chicken and asked if we could substitute with different vegetables - and were charged $4.00 extra....which made the chicken entree $40.00 Only Zuni Cafe in San Francisco can get away with a $40 chicken (and it’s worth every penny).
Exploring Provo (from New Orleans) since we will be moving here in May. Found this amazing restaurant with excellent staff that were knowledgeable of their food and wines/beers. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Coming from a foodie city, we were so impressed and excited to be able to eat here again.
Brunch was great. They gave us our own room and it was nice and quieter than the big room. The eggs Benedict was fantastic. We had a nice time.
I’ve been here countless times, always loved my experiences. The other night was not a good one. Which was frustrating, I brought my boyfriend for his 1st time and raved about it to him beforehand.
The Brussels sprouts were burnt, our waiter did offer to replace them and took them off our bill, thank you.
Our starch was brought out a little bit after. Which we ate. We waited over 15 minutes for our protein. So then the potatoes were cold. It was bad service. The sirloin steak was so chewy.
Over all pretty disappointing, especially when paying so much. Seemed like prices have increased lately.
Great fresh food but a little pricey

This was our first time. The food was very healthy, fresh and delicious. The service was excellent and there was literally no wait time. The salad was served almost immediately after we ordered. By the time we finished, our vegetables and bass were served. We ordered the chocolate mousse upon finishing our meal and it was served within minutes. We loved our experience and will be back for more.
The smell of the fried food cooking from the kitchen was overwhelming. It was unbearable. It made the whole dining experience really unpleasant. The smell of oily food and food being fried, is awful.
No longer Gluten Friendly. In the past, we've had decent luck with most things on the menu being gluten-free friendly. This time, for Brunch, unless you like eggs, there was almost nothing you could have that was truly gluten-free. Very disappointing! We may give Dinner one more try before abandoning this joint.
Great quality food! Girls luncheon, they all loved the food and will return.
We have always really enjoyed coming here. The ambiance is great. We did make a reservation but they weren't able to seat us for about 30 min after our reservation. And the most of the food we ordered was wonderful as expected. The steak was a little tough and was cold. Otherwise we had a nice evening.
It isn't as good as it use to be. I don't know if there is a new chef or not but I wouldn't recommend it anymore. It was "the best" before but now....
We decided to try Communal's Saturday Brunch and were not disappointed. I ordered the chorizo with fried eggs. The chorizo was not the least bit oily and the egg were done as I like them. The sundried tomatoes enhanced the flavor and the aioli added the finishing touch. I would highly recommend this dish. Reservations are strongly advised even at lunchtime.
Good quality food served without fanfare, good beer and wine list and good service, we will be returning for more dinners.
Amazing little gem in Provo! Everything about Communal is fabulous - the food is to die for! I will definitely be going back as often as possible. Make sure to make a reservation before going.
Great menu and fun atmosphere. A little pricey but if you order smart you don’t have to break the bank. Just save room for dessert! ... or two.

Great experience. Fun concept. Ambiance was fantastic. While I love bold and distinct flavors, it was a little over the top. It almost seems like they’re trying a little too hard.
We had a party of 10. Our food was delicious. We had a variety of things on the menu and it was all great.
The brussel sprouts were outstanding! Also their spatzel with apples from allred orchards was really tasty.
We were just passing through Provo and feel so lucky to have found this special spot. We will find a way to get back for sure. The food was amazing and the service was spectacular!
Service was a little off and felt like we were being rushed out at the end of the night. We were still enjoying our dinner when the waiter hands out dessert menus. Food was decent but a bit hit or miss. The creme brule was more a soup than anything - was not cooked properly as was the molton lava cake. All was a bit hit or miss.

My boyfriend and I come to communal a lot, it is probably our favorite special occasion dinner spot! Its easy to make a reservation, service is great, food is AMAZING, and its easy to get to (right by Center Street in Provo). Came here for my birthday this weekend and was not disappointed. Plus, they have a new menu every season, and their new items have been just as good as the old.
