Food was good. Appetizers were great. On the advice of the waiter we ordered 3 and ordered the lamb for 2. The entre was way too much meat especially after ordering 3 apps. Little else besides meat. Normal portion of the yogurt sauce, normal bread ( costs a $1 more for additional bread which seems like nickel and dime compared to the price of the meal). We took home left overs but will end up throwing lamb out. There was really a lack of vegetable dishes or sides.
Overall we wish they had more choices in sides and veggies & better proportions but the food was tasty.
Delicious dinner in a lovely atmosphere. Great staff, look forward to coming again.
Everything about Common Lot significantly exceeded our expectations. The starters, main course and desert were perfectly prepared and very tasty. The head waiter was knowledgeable and pleasant to talk to. We will definitely go to the Common Lot again.
The food was very good. My wife and I shared the marketprice fish. was covered with a plethora of sauce. Literally it felt that I was eating sauce with my fish. We probable left over half the fish. The appetizers were excellent.
Common lot did not disappoint! This was my first time dining here and it was delicious. The unexpected combination of ingredients were delightful. I look forward to returning for dinner next time.
Overall a good place, but I would not recommend Lunch. They only offer Tapas which as mostly small plates. I think they could have offered better lunch items. The lunch items we did order were very good.
Careful attention to crucial details. How do they get ALL the bones out of a trout fillet? Amazing.
Deliciously different from everything else in the area!
I would definitely recommend Common Lot based on our previous experiences, however, we ordered the Ribeye Steak sharing platter this time and unfortunately, it was pretty tough. Not something you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. The green beans that accompanied the dish were not cooked quite enough although I appreciate this is a matter of taste. The starters were very good though.
Very friendly service. Beautiful decor.
Food was wonderful, service and ambience good as well. The manager or Maitre'd at the front was fabulous, warm and friendly, the moment we walked in he made us feel welcome and at home. Try the lamb or to ribeye for two, there were 4 of us and we split both big plates. Dessert was wonderful too. Highly recommend, try and get an outside table, or the library room upstairs if you want a quiet spot. We will be back for sure.
Food was fantastic. Restaurant was very cold but the food made up for any minor imperfections
3rd time i've been here and i would definitely go back. Everyone was pleased with all the dishes we had and are keen to try others too. Nice/bright/spacious/modern space.
Great food and great service. It was a little noisy, but the atmosphere was great. It’s better than most of the restaurants in NYC, and the Asian fusion dishes are surprisingly amazing.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The service was excellent and the food was wonderful! Thanks for a great night!
Really cool addition to the Millburn dining scene. Price point was a bit high given the portion size. But it was an overall enjoyable experience !
I was there a long time ago when the restaurant was new and loved it. Never got back because I could never secure a reservation. I was so excited to finally find a date that worked and was very disappointed. the waiter was not very attentive, the shared appetizers were very good, but only one out of four liked their main dish. I will not be running back nor will my friends. I felt badly because they were never there and I was raving about the place. The wine we brought was excellent-thankful for that!
It was our first visit and will not be the last. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Beautiful space too.
No need to mention the quality nor taste of the food; it's ALWAYS marvelous! One small pet peeve....the restaurant is not overly accommodating to special requests. For example, at one visit we were limited to the number of wine glasses they would provide to our party despite the different wines we brought. And because the food is spectacular my dining partner and I always order different dishes in order to taste as many offerings as we can. To make it simpler, we asked if they would split the entrees on our plates, to which we were told NO.
Cant wait to do the tasting table!!
We celebrated our 18th anniversary and had an outstanding meal!
Fantastic experience all around!
We've eaten here at least 7 times. Food has never been consistent and this last time, the waiter didn't know at all the ingredients in the fish dish. Not only was it missing some ingredients, he didn't understand what we were saying. He misunderstood which plates we ordered as appetizers, one coming out 15-20 minutes AFTER the other appetizer. We wanted to give this place one more shot. FAIL.
Awesome. Everything was perfect.
I’ve been coming to Millburn for Past 8 years for playhouse performances and this is by far my favorite place to eat. Been to almost every restaurant in town but keep coming back here.
Extremely well seasoned dishes from appetizers through desserts. Main courses, especially those designed for two, are quite large and could feed more if various appetizers ordered. The only thing frustrating is getting an open reservation - but now we see why.
Unreal food from start to finish, great portions, warm atmosphere!
Have been there for dinner and enjoyed it. This was the first time for lunch. The food was prepared well, but the proportions were very small. We ordered family style for the table, but we all laughed that we were starving within two hours of the meal.
Excellent food, quality, innovation and variety. It does take 20 to 30 minutes for the entrees to arrive, plan accordingly. There were three of us, we ordered 4 smalls and each had an entree. We could have gone with just three smalls but they are all so intriguing and delicious.
Just remember to bring your own wine!!
Excellent service and food. Prefer dining downstairs. Next time will book seats at chef bar.
the food wasn't as good as the last time we visited a couple of years ago. the potato dumplings and branzino were stand-outs for me. we tried all of the apps and desserts which were ok. we also sat upstairs, which i don't think has as lovely an ambiance as downstairs, so we felt like outcasts, far away from all the pretty things going on downstairs. byob makes the restaurant more affordable, which is a good thing since the meat for two (both the rib eye and lamb shank)cost $90.
From the moment we walked up to the restaurant we felt welcomed. The door was opened for us by the front of house. We had a cozy table facing the whole dining room and kitchen. The wait staff was so friendly and caring and bus boys were so thoughtful. The food was all delicious and every dish had some exuberant flavors. I can't wait to come back!
The shared main plates are always outstanding. We usually get the lamb shoulder, but we tried the market fish this time - it was red snapper. It was a huge price of fish served in the most incredible peanut and coconut curry sauce. Don’t let the curry turn you off- it was simply amazing. We cannot wait to return again!
Really amazing meal. Host from the begging was warm and friendly and service got better from there. Food was amazing - had most of the small plates and all were special. Rib eye and Crispy Wild Boar for mains were shared between 4. Will definitely be back.
Excellent meal. For pictures, see @adventuresindining on insta.
Beautifully presented food. Everything was delicious. We will be back!
Best place around! The food is exquisite! I highly recommend going.
Yet again the overall experience and food were above and beyond. Fabulous food that is truly a work of art as well. Would recommend and can’t wait to go back!
