Commissary DC Ratings and Reviews
This restaurant happened to be near where we were staying off 14th Avenue corridor and was recommended by a family member. We got very lucky the first night because we showed up early before the last table was taken at around 5 and then it was so good, we went back this time with a reservation. We ate lighter on our first visit and shared a dessert and then on our next night visit we had two different entries that we fantastic, one the salmon and the other a pasta. Love this place but it is a good idea to get a reservation to get in. We had the Obama, Farewell dessert and it was good, enough for two.
Great experience for my family. Children loved the food and wife too. Service was outstanding,Ambience was very friendly, portions were great, and prices were extremely reasonable. We are from Florida and travel to Virginia and D.C. every year. We were in D.C. for the inauguration, and had the reservation for the Commissary after I read the reviews. Really enjoyed it and will be back again soon.
We enjoyed dinner here on a cold rainy evening. Had trouble finding our reserved parking garage but the restaurant was able to direct us to a garage close by that had parking available. The staff was friendly and our waitress was top notch. There was plenty of food and all of it was delicious. A great experience overall.
This was a fun stop. A busy weekend for us in DC and we were hungry for a good burger - found it here! Funky and relaxed setting with a mostly younger crowd, but we felt welcomed. Very attentive and fast service. Would go back, especially with our 30-something kids.
This was listed as #2 out of over 2500 restaurants in DC (Trip Advisor), and fit what we thought we wanted to eat... WOW, the food was outstanding! We arrived at an "off" time so service was quick. The brussel sprouts were out of this world, as was the chicken wraps and quinoa salad (we shared off the smaller plate menu), and the beer selection was nice too.
Definitely going back!
Was there on New Years Eve. They had prime rib on "special." It was ok. A lot of seafood on the menu but I don't eat seafood. Service was nice but wasn't thrilled with my New Years Eve special. The chocolate pecan pie was average at best. My girlfriend said her gnocchi was good. I probably won't go back but it wasn't awful either. Lot of options out there
2nd time here, seems they didn't take their time with food presentation. Steak frites should of been slice instead of a whole hunk of meat, the fries were the remnants of the bottom of the basket. The hummus was the only good thing they got right..lunch only no dinner
Came in here for lunch after reading the menu online and drooling heavily. Vegan here-- plenty of delicious options for me; Boyfriend eats meat and there was an abundance of creative dishes for him to try as well. The Kung Pao sprouts were dank. Along with everything else we tried. Met some cool folks at the bar, and the vibe was super chill the whole time. Brock was our bartender and he is ten-stars amazing. We'll be going back. Highly recommend!!
We loved the Commissary DC. It was reasonably priced for D.C. and had a dinner for 2 special where you got 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and a dessert. We were full and the food was delicious. It was a neat atmosphere as well which made for a great dining experience. We will definitely be returning.
We came for my partners 29th birthday with family and friends including our 7yr old daughter. The environment was perfect. The guys watched the game and others played uno at the table until our food was served. It was fabulous. Not to mention we are a lesbian couple and the restaurant is sooooooo lgbt friendly. And my wife's 29th birthday brunch was a success!!! Thank you sooo much!!!
