Waiter was over the top good. Great selection of apps and small plates, burgers and pizzas. Ordered from entre selections. Short ribs were great.

Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience here. Food, service, and ambiance were all very good to outstanding. Would come back here in a heartbeat on our next trip in.

Lettuce wraps were great. The dinner taster menu was a great bargain, probably too much food. However, the fries on both entrees were soggy.

Use to be one of my favorite places to go to when in DC but their food and customer service has slowly been declining. There are so many other restaurants in DC don’t settle for a place like this.

I took out a group of folks who work in my teams here for a team dinner. We had a great time. The food was very good, and the drinks were also, with a large variety of beers and wines, along with the usual cocktails. Service was excellent. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that my steak frites, which was delicious, was luke warm by the time I got it. Otherwise excellent.

Food was fine, but nothing worth writing home about. Turkey sausage was over cooked and the blueberry pancakes were akin to those made from a box. They weren't super busy but the food took quite some time to get our order.

Waiter was kind and answered lots of questions. It was an experience but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there again.

Ate at this establishment twice on last trip to DC. Brined Chicken was excellent as was the fish and chips. The Pear Sangria was also very intriguing and quite light but not too sweet.

The dinner package for 2 is a great value. So delicious. Loved that they served the kids their food while my husband and I ate our appetizers.

We met friends for a Sunday breakfast. Restaurant was very busy, but with our Open Table reservation we were seated right away. Food was good and service was very good. We took a long time to finally look at the menu and order, but our server was very patient.

Host could have been a little more accommodating (one was great, other not so much). Rest of the staff was great (not always the case). Food is always awesome and lots of choices to please everyone (I am vegan and go with non-vegetarians).

My friends and I planned my birthday brunch at Commissary, which my friend had been once before and recommended. The place was packed at 10 am. It was a surprise to us that the brunch that day was Sia-themed - luckily we have nothing against Sia so it was a fun time. A couple waiters wore the infamous black and white wig, and they had a specials menu that had food named after her songs. A little extra decor like cardboard chandeliers were hung from their lighting which was cute. Besides the Sia stuff, the place had a cool kinda vintage hipster vibe. Ended up getting the bottomless mimosas (I think this is only available on certain days, didn't see anything about that online) but we were only allowed the table for an hour and a half - two hours would have been ideal. But they let us take the rest of our drinks up to the bar area which was cool. A nice touch for my birthday, they put an orange slice with an umbrella on my cup. You were also allowed to keep the Sia cups. The food itself was super good and nice quantities for prices you really couldn't beat. I had two giant blueberry pancakes with eggs and sausage for $13 and everyone else enjoyed their food too. Super yummy. We had a ton of fun.

Went for early Sunday brunch with family. Service was slow, food mediocre, environment odd -- it happened to be "pop star brunch" day, so the staff were all dressed up like Sia. Felt more nightclubby than a Saturday morning atmosphere . . .

Seated on time and at a pleasant table towards the back. A get together with friends from long ago and the wait staff gave us ample time to makeup our minds while keeping the drinks flowing.

Had open table reservation for 10:00. Unfortunately we arrived at 10:14...hostess gave our table away and put us as “no show” in open table. We had to wait 30-40 minutes for a table. I always thought there was a 15 minutes ‘grace’ period; not so at Commissary.

Our waiter was great and the food yummy. However due to the reservation mishap I will not be returning. Hostess put it on us for not calling that we were running late.

Good food. Organic food. Slow food good mod

Comida ecológica a un precio razonable. Ambiente americano y agradables. Local con mucha luz y amplio espacio. Alternativa muy buena a la típica hamburguesería. El hummus estaba muy bueno. Justo enfrente hay un súper con muchos productos ecológicos y precios razonables

Parece que no hay postres.

Good food. Steak surprisingly tender. Salmon VG. Slow service. We were there for 1.5 hours. Best to make reservations on Open Table, or you'll wait or leave without getting food @ peak times.

I love Commissary and frequently eat here. My sister in law was in town so, of course, I thought of bringing her to one of my favorite spots in DC. We were seated quickly in a great area. Unfortunately, we did not have a great experience with our waitress. She came over to our table and brought menus without saying a word, and then she stood there and stared at us. She didn’t ask us if we wanted something to drink or how we were. She finally asked if we had been to Commissary before and I told her I had but my sister in law hadn’t. She did not respond and continued to stare at us. All interactions were extremely awkward like this. Anytime she would come to our table she would just stare not asking if we wanted to order or if our food was okay. I had to initiate every conversation because she would come to our table and just stand there. As a former bartender, I knew she was coming over to get our drink order, food order, and to check on food, but she wouldn’t actually start the conversation. She would just look at us for 30 seconds, and then I would initiate the conversation. When we had questions about the menu, she did not know any of the answers and again would just look at us. I’m not sure if she was new or trained improperly but I would highly suggest she be retrained or switched to a hostess. All other times I have been here, the waiters/waitresses have been amazing and the food is great.

As seniors we were overwhelmed with the level of noise created by the 20 something crowd which was having what appears to be the best time. I would certainly recommend this place to my granddaughter.
