Décor is bland but the food is great, our table had 4 lunch entrees for a business meeting, all the food was wonderful.
It was an ok place to grab a bite to eat. Unless staying at the hotel, I would not go out of my way to go back - there are simply too many good (or average) dining options in Downtown Nashville to waste time and money on below average.
I was at the hotel for work. I enjoyed this place. It was quiet, friendly, and the food was awesome! I will go again when I am
We thought that this would be a good place to eat before a Predators game. It was a little over priced for what you get, food was edible but not great. Service was lacking.
had the egg white omelette which was excellent. the server was very attenttive
Food was OK... service was slow but friendly....and no special ambiance... in an open part of the hotel.. If I was staying at the hotel, I might stop there for convenience and that would be fine, but I would not go out of my way to dine there again.
Not the place to go for a special occasion. This is more of a hotel lobby cafe
Umm very over represented. This place is a glorified diner in the nook of a hotel. The plastic booths and glossy wood tables fit right in with the 1986 Holiday inn decor. The food was terrible-the grouper tasted like it had shake and bake on it. Bread was hard, butter frozen, my martini was awful and was poorly made and obviously watered down. I spent $50 on dinner and a drink-left Hungry and irritated. My friend got the NY strip..lets just say she left 3/4 of it.
We had an excellent meal before the Garth Brooks concert.
We were celebrating our anniversary. I wouldn't say the atmosphere was especially cozy for that occasion, but it was nice. We both had the Mediterranean Herb Crusted Grouper, which was very delicious! Our server was extremely nice and attentive. They treated us to a piece of rich chocolate cake and delicious coffee. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Okay for a quick business lunch. Didn't leave an impression.
Jeff was the most amazing waiter!! Absolutely the greatest!
Never had such a mix up our bills ever!
The breakfast buffet was delicious, and service by chimin was excellent.
We were staying at the Renaissance Hotel and decided to try the restaurant cause it was just downstairs. It was very quiet. We could discuss business and not be distracted by loud noise. The entree was delivered by the chef and it was really delicious. Would definitely recommend it.
Our waitress Keturah was outstanding. Give that woman a raise! We were 10 people in a private room. It was nice that we could hear each other but the darkish room had no atmosphere and I felt we missed out on the bright lively restaurant. We still enjoyed the food for Saturday brunch but if I did it again, I would ask not to be in that room.
My family and I decided to try it here while visiting Nashville and we are surprised at the high quality of food we received. We walked into the hotel and found that the restaurant was empty and our server disappeared for 15 minutes at a time but we were all completely satisfied with the food . Some standout dishes were the salmon, meatballs appetizer and the spaghetti bolognese.
We had he breakfast buffet and it was so nice. Eggs, potatoes, bacon, cheeses, fruits ,pastries. Our server, jacqueline was terrible. This was the second time we have had her and both were traumatic experiences. you will have to request what you would like seversl times and then she will pretend to straighten the tables or hide in the service area to avoid being of service to customers. It is not about the customers needs with her, it is about her. He will take your signed check and when she can not find it , she will harrass you several times. If someone else does something for you, she will intervene and harrass you about it. When we see her we see a green pointed chin and long nails with a black hat. If you get in her section. Leave. You do not want her as your server. You will be hungary and thirsty, but you will be if she is your server as well.
Basic hotel buffet good omelet station. 25% discount if Marriott rewards member even if you're not staying at the hotel.
I made pre-theatre reservations for a matinee. We arrived at 11:00 our reservations There was a breakfast buffet we choose rather than order off the menu. It was less of a breakfast bar than any run of the meal hotel chain. This is the south. Grits, no Sausage of any kind? No. If you like omelette there were 2 stations to prepare them. I've never seen a breakfast bar without sausage!
Our server, Jaklyn was great to my 11 year old god daughters and kept our drinks refilled and plates cleaned off the tables. I left her a good tip and she said it was too much! A very attentive and nice server gets rewarded from me.
Why did we need reservations? There were 5 people in the restaurant from 7:30-9:00...on a Saturday night. The food was less than adequate & the menu was extremely limited. If I had wanted Orieda fries, I would have made them at home and saved the $85 we spent on this disappointing dinner. I expected a whole lot better from a Renaissance hotel. Will not recommend.
We stopped here for a quick bite before the James Taylor concert because it was close to Bridgestone Arena. Food was good and it was very convenient.
The restaurantwas not busy, but it took one hour to grt our food.
Average to above average food. Very nice staff/very attentive. Decor and atmosphere is very tired.
Lousy weather so decided to eat at the hotel. Food was very good. Service was ok but several times we thought we had been forgotten.
We have been here at least 4 times and never have complaints so delicious!
Food was not very good esp for the value. Service was terrible.
The Apple Pecan Salad was amazing; I switched up the dressing to the Vanilla Balsamic Dressing which made all the difference! Overall, nice place; nothing special, but still nice.
The service was outstanding and the food was pretty good. The is no ambiance, however.
Was hesitant to book based on previous reviews about service. Our waitress was great! So personable and went above and beyond to provide the best! So glad we tried it! Food was fresh and above average. The menu on OpenTable is not up to date so it's quite different, but more upscale. Enjoyed so much, we returned for breakfast the next day. Again, great food and service ! Better than your average hotel restaurant!
Service was very slow ( 30min for first drink) and they could not get my wife's drink correct after multiple attempts! The food seemed good but not worth putting up with the service!
This is just a restaurant in a hotel. No ambiance, sat there for 45 minutes with no service, brought the wrong food. Got up and left before the entree because we waited 90 minutes and then they told us they were out of what we ordered. Just awful, worst experience.
The server didn't care or even try to get our orders right. We waited a long tI me to get food in an empty restaurant. Another server had to get what we asked for and she was top notch! Wish our server was better. Breakfast bar that morning was mediocre at best. Burnt beyond recognition bacon. Not refilling food in a timely manner. Breakfast 2/5. Hotel was great, restaurant didn't live up to the hotel at all for the prices required.
The food would have been fine at a cheaper price point.
Staff is very friendly and the food exceeded my expectations. Great place to have dinner!
Our waiter was perfect, he had everything timed so we could get to the show at the Ryman.
Gnocchi was homemade and simply the best I've had since my Grandmother made for me 40 years ago! Would definitely come here again when downtown.
We had a lovely Thanksgiving dinner with a good variety or entrees, side dishes, and wonderful desserts - if I could change one thing I would ask for real whipped cream instead of the frosting like whipped topping atop the desserts.
Don't let the fact that it is in a hotel deter you from trying The Commerce Street Grill. The food was excellent. Nothing run of the mill about the bone-in roasted chicken, fresh made pasta bolognese, bone-in pork chops, or filet mignon. Even the sides were unexpected - creamy corn, collard greens. My husband is still talking about his pasta days later.
We really enjoyed this restaurant. A lot of the restaurants downtown are pub food and they had high quality food that tasted delicious. We all had either the pasta bologne or the filet. The dessert was fabulous. The prices were reasonable unlike some of the high end steak houses in the area. It was quiet so we were able to converse well with a group of six.
Disappointed. Service was terrible; other tables were walking out during service. The waiter was overwhelmed. Came by our table for drink refills once during the entire service. My salmon was microwaved to stay hot, it came out scalding hot. Meal for two with only one wine was $75. Unacceptable and something Marriot should look into right away. Will never return
