Comida in Longmont is a fantastic cantina that is owned and operated by Rayme Rossello. The menu is filled with entrees that have roots in flavorful dishes from Mexico, but each one created has a unique spin on it as well. Comida is open for lunch and dinner throughout the week, and the friendly staff are dedicated to creating a fun, lively experience for each and every guest. It truly will take only one visit to see why this place has such a loyal following with the locals and has earned great reviews.
Those dining at Comida can start off with tasty appetizers, such as chips and guacamole before moving on to full plates, such as spicy shrimp over jalapeños, slow cooker sirloin steak or grilled tacos. Vegetarian options are also available, as is a full array of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages.
So sad that this location is closing, we love it here!!
Food was cold and not of high quality, and service was slow.
The server was friendly, responsive and efficient. The overall ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant. I had fish tacos and my husband had one of their "bowls." We also ordered the "jar" of their classic margarita, clearly their spin on a pitcher. Everything was alacarte which is unusual for a Mexican restaurant. The portions were quite skimpy for the price(s). The rice/black bean side was in a small ramekin for $3. The "bowl" my husband ordered was on a dinner plate. While he said the flavor was good, it was not enough food for him. When I ordered a second taco and it came with a sauce I didn't want, he ended up eating the taco, since he was still hungry and I ordered a third one sans sauce for myself. The margarita was not well balanced, being very tart...we both commented that we essentially felt like we were drinking grapefruit juice. With tax and tip the check came to about $70 for two! Too much for what we received. Better to come for happy hour when the prices are more reasonable.
Loved it all. Great food, great service! Cant wait to go again!
Awesome cocktails & taco! Loved the flavors and spice! They are not afraid to use spice! Authentic street tacos and wonderful appetizers & main courses too! Go with friends that appreciate good cocktails!
Excellent Margaritas, perfect guacamole and homemade chips, fabulous authentic Mexican menu, very thoughtful service, and very reasonable prices for high quality and very well prepared dishes. Ambiance is low key, and the focus is on the bar menu and the food where it should be. Outdoor seating is available which would have been nice but eating inside was cool and comfortable on a hot evening!
Always love Comida! Everyone is happy with different tacos for each palate.
Fun place, great food and the cocktails are fabulous!
Love the food! Margaritas were excellent, service was great. Definitely coming back. Best part about Comida is the food- simple, but definitely not basic!
Super fun and tasty! Great staff and cozy location. Get there early though since it is getting very popular. Try the griddlers!
Great all the way around. Good service prices are inline with food. Drinks are creative. Staff is friendly. Good noise level if you don't like quite dining.
Neighborhood gem, that always delivers. Causal , Creative Mexican food. portions are sized right, as you can easily add a little bit as you go. Recommend.
We love Comida - go there all the time. I love the griddled Stella's tacos.
Mothers Day Brunch
Food was good and reasonably priced. The drinks were tasty but expense considering they had very little alcohol in them and a lot of ice.
it was a very busy night but our waiter did a great job trying to balance everything and take good care of us.
Phenomenal! Super empressive...fabulous menu...reasonably priced...great atmosphere! The only thing you'll be asking yourself is...how soon can I get back? Well done Comida!
Great food. Good service. A little pricy for street tacos but you get what you pay for.
Great energy, nice modern decor, creative combinations of food.
This is a trendy place with outstanding food. Make a reservation since you will find the place hopping on weekends.
This place has excellent tacos, a wonderful atmosphere, and a great vibe!
We loved this place! Delightful and delicious. Wait staff was charming. Food - fantastic!
As a Tucson transplant I am so glad to finally find a place that serves real Mexican..with their own twist but delicious. Everything seems to be made after you order it and tasting that freshness in food is important to me. Also, their pineapple habenero margaritas are spicy as advertised and delicious. Great service..what more do you need?
We've eaten at Comida a couple of times -- both evenings were early in the week. The food was great as was the service. It was a little quiet, but that may have had something to do with it being the Monday after the Super Bowl, and another visit being on a Tuesday evening. The Guacamole is great with the home made chips. Tacos were all good. In particular, the grilled tacos are quite tasty and a little easier to eat too.
If you're looking for a mostly small plate high-end take on Mexican food, check out Comida!
Impeccable service every time. The wait staff really knows the menu and makes recommendations when asked. I feel well taken care of, and never rushed. The food is fantastic. Fresh and original. Great guac and salsas and perfectly cooked beans and rice. And I love that I can order small portions (e.g. tacos or tostadas), one up or multiple. That way, I can try different things and not feel stuffed when I leave. On my last visit, I had the margarita special, which was made with cucumber-infused silver tequila. Delicious. And I'm a margarita snob. Also on special was a pink peppercorn ice cream for dessert. Yum!
Delicious food hitting on many levels. Great service - attentive and informed. We will be back.
Outstanding food, quiet atmosphere, the ceviche is to die for
As I said before.. This was our very first visit to Comida. We are so happy that we gave it a go! I have celiac and they were VERY accommodating! The food was AMAZING!!!
We started with chips and 3 salsas (Pineapple habanero and Carrot habanero were our favorites). The chips were soooo good!!! I had Camerones a la Diabla which was FANTASTIC!!! (We happened to go on Taco Tuesday, so I got 3 of these gems!) I will be ordering them again without a doubt! My BF had the Arrachera (sandwich) and LOVED it!!!! I will admit... I also gave the Watermellon Jalapeño Margarita AND the Pineapple Habanero Margarita a go and BOTH were FANTASTIC!!! my BF had the Pomegranate Lemonade and is still talking about it!
Looking forward to having the nachos on our next visit! Comida... you will be seeing a lot more of us! Do yourself a favor and check it out!
I recommend the tacos if you're getting food here. My friends and I got some of the other specials and they were not as good as the tacos. The drinks were great too!!!
We had a great meal last Sat night. But sitting a few tables fr the back door is not
recommended!! Staff uses it for many reasons...... and it closes slowly. We tried to
block it with chairs and commented to the staff, but they just shrugged.
Jalapeño grits, huevos quesadilla were excellent!
Authentic Mexican - not TexMex. Great flavor, wonderful variety, impeccable service! Don't miss Comida. It's absolutely worth it.
Good food. Twisty but not great. Maybe just not for my palate. Cheese used in the Queso and Quesadillas was a bit too distinctive. Small glassed for the Margaritas. Best to get the milk jug of the Comida Margarita for the best deal. Server K Martychenko was awesome and the vibe there is good. Worth a shot to see if it for you.
This is a fun place tucked into Tomorrowland, er, I mean the neighborhood that includes 100-Year-Party Court. The guacamole was perfect, the chips were crisp, the beer was fresh. What more could one ask for? Oh yeah, the tacos! My favorites were the pork carnitas, slow-cooked sirloin, and spicy shrimp. All three were delicious. I'll be coming back to try everything else.
We've been coming to Comida ever since it first opened and have most likely dined here on 20+ occasions. Can't say enough good things about the food and the staff. The margaritas are also refreshing and not "syrup" infused.
I believe we've had just about everything on the menu at one time or another and I can't recall ever ordering something we didn't like. They so offer daily specials, although the street style tacos/griddled tacos are what we keep coming back for.
Our party arrived just a bit in advance of our reservation and the restaurant was busy with a short line of people waiting; time time was a little before 6:00pm on a Friday. I think they must have been short staffed because there were a couple of open tables both inside and out but no one was being seated at these. I checked in with the host and was told we had a short wait. I said that was fine, turned around, then realized I forgot to tell him that either inside or out was fine with us. At that point he snapped at me and told me, loudly, to please be patient and just wait. Ok then. I was very tempted to leave right then and go over to 20 20 Wine Bar where I know the service and food are wonderful but the folks I was with wanted to stay. We stayed and after waiting a bit longer, we were seated outside. At that point things improved. Our server was wonderful, the food was delicious and creative, and the drinks were quite tasty as well. Will I return? Probably not. And my husband has not been shy about letting friends know about the cranky host. Interestingly, when we left about an hour later, the place was almost empty.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Boulder County. The food is interesting, great tasting and never pretentious. It's a fun place to meet friends of to bring your family.
The food truck is fun but restaurant has not managed to elevate itself. The Ceviche was terrible; a bowl full of cabbage with 3 soggy shrimp. I get that you have to pay for salsa but all you get is 3 tiny samples with no refills. What is the point of eating Mexican if you can't put salsa on your food? Menu is rather boring and not very healthy.
Unfortunately, we will not be going back. Might be great for some folks but not for die-hard foodies.
This Longmont Prospect area neighborhood Mexican restaurant is a gem! The food was outstanding and the service very welcoming. You pick and choose from a wide selection of food, and it will be beautifully served family style. They have some pretty unusual margaritas to go along with the delicious food. We will definitely go back for more!!! :-)
Informal but classic Mexican street food, well done
