Com Dunwoody Ratings and Reviews
we had a horrible experience....!!!! the service was atrocious and the restaurant was not even busy at 6:15 PM on a saturday night. they delivered my husband's meal AFTER the other five of us were finished, and it was wrong on top of that. i cannot blame our waitress - i believe the kitchen was at fault, but she DID ignore us - i think she was embarrassed too. the salad was mediocre - not at all as delicious as previous owners, so we were all extremely disappointed. bartender couldn't get our drinks right and just about everything was off. would not recommend wasting your money on this experience.
Head server was excellent, but they were understaffed for a Saturday night. Spring rolls were excellent. Lamb wonton was very tasty. Ginger Chicken Curry was average and chicken too dry. The delux rice paper wraps were very fresh and tasted. Adequate wine and bar selections.
They have an extensive menu from which to chose from. They have something for every taste. I like that the presentation of their plates and that they have great service. The food is eclectic. Although Vietnamese because the ownership is a mix between Vietnamese and French this is carried on into their menu providing a beautiful blend in both in the presentation and flavors of their food.
The food still tastes good mostly but the quality of the preparation seems to have gone down since a change in management. Also the servings seem to be less generous than before. We were served about the same amount of fresh ingredients for 1 serving of pho for 2 orders. The cilantro and basil wasn't as fresh and bright as before. Also, they used to serve larger pieces of shrimp with the spring rolls but now it's tiny pieces of minced shrimp.
I almost didn't go into the restaurant. Staff was standing in front of the main entrance and smoking. Didn't offer to move and I had to go around him. Don't worry if you're the only person in the restaurant. For some reason, they get busy around 12:30 pm, later than most places at lunch time. Our server was very good and made great suggestions on what to order. The food took a very long time to arrive. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're on your lunch hour or in a hurry.
Disappointing. Love this neighborhood spot. Haven't been in awhile and it felt very different. Almost empty when previously always had good crowd and buzz. Host and server very pleasant and helpful but slow service. Half our food was delicious; other half just adequate. Will give another chance because have always really enjoyed
This place has lost its mojo. For a few years, it was a go-to place for something different in the neighborhood. Last two visits were disappointing - first time the food, this time the service -this week we left before we ordered. Waited much too long for a waiter (the place was not busy). The menu is not accurate - several items listed "we don't have anymore" - but they didn't bother to update the menu. Server could not have been more indifferent or less helpful. We asked, "What else is no longer available?" and he just said "Tell me what you want and I will tell you if we have it." We left. Too many truly strong places nearby to waste time in this one.
This was our first visit, and we were meeting friends who thought it was amazing. We had a lot of trouble with the wine list. It bore no resemblance to the list on their website, which I was happy with. To their credit, they let us taste several wines before we decided on one, the only one we found acceptable. It was way out of our price range but we ordered it anyway because the other options were not good. After that, the service deteriorated. Wines and dishes ordered by our friends did not come. They had to go find out what was happening with them. My food was only ok. My husband liked his ok. I would not go back.
The service was excellent but some of the chicken was pink in the middle & appeared to be undercooked. As I am a regular at this restaurant, I will certainly go again since in my over 25 visits over the years, this was the first meal that I have not thoroughly enjoyed.
The C'om on Buford Highway is the real deal. The one in Dunwoody seems to be more of a knockoff. The service was horrendous and we were one of a handful of tables. The owner (manager, whomever) was more interested in sitting at a handful of tables, chatting, instead of maybe chipping in and getting us some water? The bartenders or servers, whomever, seemed to be more interested in chatting behind the bar than actually pouring a drink. We waited for at least 10 minutes before we got water and even longer before they asked us if we wanted something to drink. Overall, I'd rather drive the extra distance and go where the food is awesome, the service doesn't suffer, and the overall experience is worth it.
Co'm is a great neighborhood restaurant with great food and friendly service. I usually order their refreshing basil spring rolls as an appetizer but this time I ordered the tempura tofu and the tenderloin satay. I loved them both but can't stop thinking about the tofu. Moist and delicious with a tasty dipping sauce. Enjoyed the pork Bun for an entree. Next time I may add tofu and pork! Our server John was a delight.
