Food was amazing!!! Our server was great. It just took a little longer than expected but was so good. I was less than impressed with hostess. She was nice but I was trying to change our reservation but was put on hold so long that I made to the restaurant to change the number in our party.
Great spot to meet up with my brother while he was in town on business. Good variety even though it's a small menu. He's a vegetarian and was happy with the salad and rissotto, as well as the veggie sides. I also enjoyed the squash soup, asparagus salad, and charred broccoli. SO GOOD. Our waiter wasn't as attentive as I would have liked, but it was packed - even for a Tuesday at 630P. I figure there's a lot of conference traffic in the area.
Absolutely miserable. The hostess was rude and the waitress was rude.
Very hostile. Not sure what set them off. Had to get the food runners to reorder drinks . Only saw our waitress when taking our order and when she brought the check. Don't waste your money!
We went to Columbus Tap for a casual dinner. They have an interesting menu with some unique combinations. My chicken was good, although a tinge dry. My husband's fish and chips were not very good. Very bready and he was not happy with it. The waitress was very friendly although she never inquired why my husband did not eat much of his meal. I hate to leave a not great review, but maybe it will help the restaurant improve.
China can after a series of very elegant quiet venues with excellent gourmet food selections, the restaurant was a disappointment. We did know that it was a gastro pub, the name for which sounds very unappetizing for starters, And because we had a nice formal dinner at a fine dining establishment on Friday night this week we decided to walk over for a more casual dinner on Saturday. It was just shocking to see how the interieur was deliberately dummied down to this cracked tile floor, loud place with pretty much ordinary food. Most of the selections we had were excellent and were the waitress recommendations. She was excellent. The fish with the fish-and-chips was soggy and mushy… the only real criticim we would have.Just a disappointment8ng experience.
The food was reasonably good. We all had steaks (of different kinds) and they were excellent. It is a bit pricey having to add all the veggies and potatoes separately. The cocktails were alright but again a bit pricey and the one glass of wine I had costs $20 which was quite a surprise to me. Our desserts were a little disappointing - it seemed like they forgot the white chocolate/Grand Marnier sauce for our ice cream sundae (or if it was there, it was undetectable); the server did eventually bring some more sauce and it was good. I'd probably go again if I wanted to eat at the hotel where it is located (The Fairmont), but I don't think it would be a destination for me if I wasn't staying there.
I'm a very easy going and forgiving guy who generally doesn't leave bad reviews, but I want to spare someone a couple hundred $$ on a lousy experience. For the price the food should have been MUCH better. The Outback steak house would have been better AND half the price. The room is also very acoustically loud amplifying the staff's incessantly loud voices and laughing. The two bartenders and the waitresses at the host station were carrying on behind us the entire time like they were 100ft apart in a crowded room, except there were only 2 other people there. That should have been our clue when we walked in. We had to constantly lean into one another to have a conversation. Not the nice Mother's Day dinner we had hoped for. Will not be back, unfortunately.
Wow. Columbus Tap blew my expectations away with food selection, preparation and flavor. We ordered a variety of options, including the avocado toast, burnt broccoli, pretzel, and the burger. I was blown away by the flavorful preparations of everything we ordered. Service was very good, and our table of 5 enjoyed probably best meal we've had in Chicago. Beer selection was excellent, as well.
WOW! We've been here a few times and really love the food and service. This time we went with my family on Presidents day. They easily accommodated our group including two little ones. Our waiter, Moe, was fantastic. Everyone really enjoyed their meal and time in this restaurant. Thanks Columbus Tap, we'll be back.
My boyfriend and I participated in restaurant week and experienced subpar service. There was some confusion with our server concerning our appetizer order, so our first course not only came out wrong, but it also took almost 20 minutes and our soups were room temperature. The entrees and desserts came out quickly. A few bites into dessert I started experiencing an allergic reaction. I'm not aware of any allergies I have, so I was surprised and just wanted to know what was causing it. Our server didn't seem too concerned, but said she would check with the chef. Another 20 minutes later the chef came by, went through the menu items we ordered, tried his best to guess what could have caused it. So $85 later, we left the restaurant pretty underwhelmed by the experience. I guess an allergic reaction isn't important enough for a manager to stop by.
The food was fantastic, everyone mentioned how good their meal was. The issue, similar to most other reviews, revolves around service. The waiter was nice enough but not as attentive as one would expect, and he messed up one of the orders. We came in when it was not that busy and it filled while we were there, but it seemed like the waiter struggled with addressing simple tasks. Great food, below average service. Go for the food and Beer, if you don't have high expectations for service you will be fine.
The food is similar to any gastropub.
They did add toppings to the entrees, which were not listed on the menu. This is frightening for me, as I have food allergies.
The staff was accommodating in uncovering the 'mystery' additions and noted that their menu should be updated.
My guess is this place will soon be replaced....while staff was friendly, attentiveness was lacking...but on to the food.....3 people ordered the lobster carbonara...I was one of two who ate only a fork or two of this bland dish. The dish was totally unseasoned.....just really unremarkable place where you can drop $131.00 for two and walk away hungry trying to kick yourself.....
Made a reservation for 11:45 AM. Showed up a few minutes before our reservation and the doors were locked. We knocked on the doors for at least 5 minutes with staff ignoring us. Finally, when someone came by, they indicated that they weren't opening until 2PM. Annoying.
