Everything was perfect; both the food, and the service. We will come again.
Food was excellent, and great service provided by Emily
Wonderful bar area with happy hour drinks and appetizers and some meals. Wonderful oysters.
Our favorite. Always perfect, creative menu not over-the-top crazy. Delicious, excellent service and ambiance, lunch or dinner. We will be back soon.
I have a couple comments. The iced tea didn’t have enough ice. One of our guests requested more ice for hers bit the server just brought enough for her. 4 of the 5 of us had iced tea also. Then we had to ask for more for all of us. There was no sugar on our table. Food was great.
Also good for dinner. Nice size portions except soup was served in a thimble I mean small cup.
The night marked our 20-year anniversary and this establishment was the actual location of the wedding. Since a family member had arranged a bottle of sparkling wine to be served to us when we arrived, all the staff we encountered seemed to know and acknowledge the occasion. First-class service with a first-class meal. It made a special night even more special.
We stopped at the Columbus Inn for the first time in over 15 years. Since then, it has changed hands several times, so we were hesitant to stop in for lunch. However, passing it 4 times in the past 2 weeks, usual for us to be in the area, we couldn't resist. We are very glad we did. The shrimp tacos were the best we have had in Delaware or Maryland. The two small filets were exactly as ordered, medium, and very tasty. We will recommend the Columbus Inn for our monthly dining group and make reservations for the near future.
Wonderful experience all around! Excellent food, fantastic service, and delicious drinks. My fiancé and I met up with some old friends visiting from Texas and we were all extremely pleased with the entire evening. The ambiance was ideal for conversation and catching up, and our server made us feel like we were the only patrons dining here. I highly recommend this establishment for anyone living locally or visiting the area.
Great food. Great atmosphere. Only negative was we went on a Saturday night for Prime Rib Special. They did not have it.
It would be hard to give less than 5 stars. As someone who has traveled a lot, the prices are VERY fair. Thanks to our server Noah, you are a gem.
Table near the door to the kitchen was not the best. The wait staff was always saying “corner” as they entered the kitchen or came out. Perhaps a mirror would help?
Special was good but the two mini tenderloins were not the most tender. The crab/corn chowder was great!
we sat along the wall with the long booth and table. There were two of us , to close to other couples.. Can't hold conversation
I'd recommend for a good dinner, with nice size portions and very attentive wait staff. The food tasted good too, which is numero uno!
Food, as always, was excellent. Service was good and we were afforded adequate time to talk. Couldn’t ask for a more pleasant lunch.
Great place for business lunches. Staff is very attentive and the food is excellent
Excellent food and great ambiance. Emily was our server and she did a great job.
Columbus Inn continues to exceed expectations. Every dish for each member of our foursome was excellent. Combine that with one of the better Old Fashioneds I’ve had and an outstanding and fairly priced Willamette Valley Pinot Gris...all making a very enjoyable evening.
2nd time here, first time I was disappointed. Filet was not well seasoned, and the accompanying veggies were not as fresh as I’m used to. Waitress was annoyed for some reason unclear to, and it detracted from the service. Perhaps just a bad night.
Service was average. $80.00 bottle of wine served warm. Begs the question “what’s the Wine Cellar for?”
Exquisite setting, great food and service - go just once and you'll be back, I promise - lunch or dinner, this restaurant is a must in the Wimington-Metro area. Even well worth the 35-minute drive from Philly...
We four gals had a really delightful time. We were seated right in front of the fireplace - glad it wasn’t on this visit. Our server was super. She even agreed to take our picture. Sorry I can’t remember her name. Cute name tags surely would help us older folks.
I would suggest you fix the chair at our table. The left arm comes up Also scrub the bathroom stalls, walls n floors - I don’t want to know what’s on them. I did tell the server there was no soap for washing.
We will come back. Thank you Paulette
Although it was Father's Day the service was very attentive. We all liked different foods from the buffet and so were very happy with the experience.
The food and serive was excellent
The buffet was very good especially the prime rib station. The big disappointment was they ran out of a few of the desserts and never replenished them, such as the chocolate chip cookies, butter pound cake, and the strawberry shortcake.
Had a great time at the Inn for Father's Day. Was seated promptly. The waitress came to my table soon after. The buffet was very comprehensive. Thats was a large selection of breakfast and lunch items. The food was very tasty.
Food was fabulous. Atmosphere and service was incredible
What a great spot! I never knew it existed before last week. I drove by and noticed this patio covered in shrubbery and realized it was a restaurant. We made a reservation for Friday at 7pm and found that the place was wide open. Great ambiance, good food and fantastic service. The only thing that was lacking was the wine selection. They do have quite a bit, just not a great selection. Overall a great place. We will be revisiting soon.
Had a great dinner as usual, will always keep coming back.
We came to brunch at Columbus Inn for the first time today. The ambience of the restaurant is solid, old, stable, but uninspiring. The food was decidedly bland (& I am someone who likes things more toward the bland side). The pastries were very dry, as were the waffles. The carving station's roast beef was good, but cold (not cool, cold). The eggs were also exceptionally dry.
Service was under par. The server could have checked back on us more frequently than he did and should have remembered to return our credit card.
Finally, while juices are extra, so is another brunch "staple", milk! Tea and coffee are included, but be aware that if you want regular sugar with it, you will have to deal with sugar "balls" that do not dissolve well.
All in all, their concept is fine, but their execution is definitely lacking.
The place was hopping. The bartender couldn’t keep up with orders and we understand the manager was helping out. It took forever to get our drinks before dinner and we were sitting in the bar! The waitress was great but the service was slow — not due to her I’m saying.
The food was great. One of the best meals I’ve had in a bit.
Always a treat to go there . Worth the trip from Laurel,MD.
Food and atmosphere was amazing and I will look forward to coming back.
Dinner was fantastic and the service was outstanding. The waitress did not rush the meal and was aware we were interested in catching up with our dinner partners. The food was prepares well and the perfect size portions.
Quick service during my lunch break and excellent food!
The food was OK. I thought the beef selections were to few. The service was good but not as timely as I was expecting. The table wobbled and was annoying for that. I was expecting really good and got just OK.
Very noisy on Friday night, slow service and average food
We were very disappointed in Columbus Inn. Our "lunch bunch" group of 8 came on Wednesday and found the food to be subpar (most of us had crabcakes that we thought inedible), and the service to be poor. We go to lunch once a month and have removed Columbus Inn from our list.
Great place for an anniversary celebration. Great menu including options for those that need to be gluten free.
Enjoyed a great Mother's Day Brunch! Even though the dining room was full, we had ample space and did not have to wait in line at the food bars. Highly recommend Columbus Inn!
