Went to the restaurant on the first night visiting my daughter in Tampa. Well what a disappointment. Our waiter was a clown, and not in a funny way.
The food was not great for the prices they charge. I was not able to eat the piece of pork that was part of my dish because it was so dry and it tasted like shoe leather. The deserts left a lot to be desired. My daughter ordered the churros , i can assure you the ones at Costco are better and they are only one dollar. My ice cream was supposed to be coconut, it was awful vanilla.
So I will never go again, not recommend it to anyone. It is a tourist trap and how they have lasted so many years I will never know. I want my money back....

Comida mas o menos, buen ambiente, buen servicio, no lo que esperaba, creo que esta overrated, para mi gusto es muy caro por lo que recibes. Es mi opinion.

We were seated in the bar, so the noise was a bit too much. This is THE restaurant to impress your friends, business acquaintances, loved ones and anybody else. EXCELLENT service, WONDERFUL food and selection of Hispanic dishes, and BEAUTIFUL decor. Even the menu is a treat to read !!!! Prices are reasonable for the experience. Don’t miss a chance to be overwhelmed by The Columbia in Ybor City.

Wasn’t to impressed with the food. Known for the Cuban sandwich and it seemed dry and not that great, only ate half. Also my friend came and ordered the special, but the menu was an old one and she got the wrong plate. They took it back and got her the old special but was really inconvenienced and they didn’t even offer to Comp that. Waiter was great, wasn’t his fault. Management should’ve stepped up. Loved the historical building and everything about the place, but food was below average.

Food is (almost) always fantastic, my friend ordered a strip steak medium rare, but it was so thick , it was raw in the middle, ugh! The food I ordered was fantastic, and the service is outstanding. Jim and Brandie were always available, and Jim graciously used the specialty candle that I brought for my friend's birthday dessert :-) I've been to the Columbia half a dozen times, and it has always been an outstanding experience. Highly recommend.

The last two times we've come to the Columbia it was for lunch and both times have been dissapointing. The service was horrendous, felt like the server was purposely being rude. Took 30 mins for a booster seat and iced tea. The food was good though.

We've been going to the Columbia for over 30 years. In fact, we were serenaded by the violin of Mr. Gonzmart on one of our early visits.
It's a great place to eat, enjoy good food and be with friends and family.

Wonderful food and service in the original Columbia Restaurant. From the delicious bread and the 1905 salad , which was prepared table side everything , was great.

klhey sat us in the bar area. The noise level with the crowd & the piano player was so unpleasant. We couldn't hold a conversation at the table. We had to yell our order to the server. It was ridiculous how loud it was. I wanted to give the piano player a tip just to get him to STOP playing. There was about a 15-20 min break from the noise level when the piano player took a break

We came to eat here for our first time living in Tampa and for my Father’s 75th Birthday dinner. We barely waited for our table since we had our reservation through opentable done. Our server Barbara was amazing!!! Once she found out it was my dads birthday and once my dad found out she spoke Spanish it was like if she was part of the family at that point. Even though it was busy and a Sunday night she took great care of us. Food came out great and hot. Everything was cooked perfectly and had great taste. We will be coming back and probably asking to have Barbara again since my dad loved her as our server. Thank you!!!

We waited a long time to get seated despite having a reservation and the fact that there were tables available right behind us at the bar. The food and drinks were great as usual, however.

Different atmosphere and menu. Living an hour or two away from Tampa, we stop at the Columbia once or twice a year. For me it is the 1905 Salad, and the fantastic fresh loaf of bread and butter. My daughter had a half cuban sandwich, served with a large portion of the same 1905 salad. One of our friends had the crab cakes, again served with lots of 1905 salad; the report of the crab cakes was "ok". Next time I am going to order a fish dish with a side of the house (1905) salad. For desert we shared a delightful guava pastry dish. It is highly recommended!

Amazing experience, great show! The appetizers and wine were delicious...but the paella might be the worst I've had, completely over salted with mushy vegetables and just generally gross, our table did not eat it.

It should have been an indication at how our evening was going to turn out. We placed a 8:00pm dinner reservation on Open Table, the Columbia then call to confirm the day our our anniversary. Well low and behold when we arrived and I stated my name and that we had a reservation the hostess looked at me as if I was crazy and was just a walk in. It appeared as if they were doing us a favor by seating us. Our waiter was started off well with us. We ordered a drink and a couple of tapas to start off. He offered us bread which had taken a long time to arrive followed by our tapas. This is when the service starts to slide off the rails. Our primary beverage was a mojito pitcher and a glass of water each. The attention by our waiter was to the table of six to our right and the table of four to our left. It was nearly impossible to obtain water refills as he would disappear at length. When dinner did arrive my wife's plate was cool and as if it was sitting for a while. The runner who delivered our dinner was gone as quick as it was presented. It was a good five minutes until our waiter asked how was everything and that was when we asked should this plate be cool. His eyes opened wide and said no. He promptly left to obtain a replacement dinner for my wife. Now I am here with a dinner waiting for my wife's replacement to be delivered. The replacement plate arrive hot and freshly prepared. Our waiter cleared our dishes and asked if we would like dessert. Since it was our wedding anniversary we said yes and ordered the special that was on the menu that evening. He returned with our dessert and began to walk away when we made him aware that we had to silverware to eat said dessert. The evening came to end and we were both glad to be leaving this experience. For all the hype that the Columbia supposedly has it was a mediocre dining experience. Good luck to them. I would not go out of my way to dine here.

Dining at this restaurant is so much fun. The interior is beautiful and atmospheric, especially the main room and the bar. The food is delicious and the portions are generous. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. It was well worth the trip from West Tampa to Ybor City, which is a treat in its own right.
