I have visited the St. Armand’s location numerous times and love it! Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about the Ybor location. The food was fantastic as always but our service was extremely poor. I have no doubt our server is great at what he does however, he was definitely overwhelmed. I work in the industry and I know these things happen. He should of asked for help or simply apologized and thanked us for our patience. This will not detour us from visiting, we will be back for the food!

Been coming to the Columbia for years to celebrate birthdays, graduations, etc. Great Spanish food, I like that it has a lot of Tampa history. Absolutely excellent service. Food is served quite quickly for how busy they usually are. Generous portions, usually enough to bring some home. Great key lime pie!

I had not been to the Columbia in 18 years but I took my wife for our 25th anniversary. We had reservations and were seated near the main entrance of the restaurant next to a large and very loud party. We sat next to each other but could not hardly hear ourselves. The decor was the best part of the experience but it went down sharply from there. We had 3 drinks total and the price was more than what the waitress said it would be. Plus the drinks were small compared to most places and weak. We both had chicken dinners and my wife's was suppose to have been baked. Came out pan fried. I asked about the vegitables and was told snap peas and things. No problem but the" things" were items I do not eat like mushrooms. I would have asked for a substitute if I had known. The food overall was ok at best and no better than many local Cuban restaurants that are much cheaper. In the end, our check was nearly $90.00 out the door. We paid for the "name" more so than anything else. I wanted a romantic evening, went early before 5:30 to avoid the rush, but left disppointed. You only have 1 silver anniversary and it did not turn out as I had hoped it would.

The restaurant is famous and well known and has a good reputation, however, we had some issues with the food. The entrees arrived before the soup so we sent them back and had them bring the soup. They put the entrees under the warming light so they were cold. The waitress brought them back to the kitchen where they were reheated and then over cooked. Finally the manager came and had the food recooked and took the cost of the meals off our bill. He did not have to do that, however, it shows that they really care about customer satisfaction.

What can you say about the Columbia? It’s a Tampa original. All you have to say is “1905 salad” and you’ve said it all.

Overpriced and Overrated - Service almost non-existent, food terrible for the price and reputation. Bread dropped off with no butter or oil. Didn't see Carlos (waiter) until we were able to wave him down when bread was no longer warm. Runner dropped off food. $36 for a steak that was supposed to be medium rare served with vegetables and yellow rice - steak showed up well done and chewy with no vegetables or rice just a couple of cold salty potato slices. Waiter did not come and never checked on how the meal was to have it corrected. Gave up and ate it as my companion finished their meal which I insisted they start while it was warm. Still did not see waiter again until 25 minutes after I finished eating. Wish they would have left a water jug with the small glasses if the server didn't have time to come back. Only quick service was to pick up the check at the end of the night. Enjoyed other Columbia locations. Will never return to or recommend this "flagship" location. We were really looking forward to our anniversary dinner here. We would have liked to say it was a good memory.

I went for Thanksgiving dinner and flamenco show. The food was alright and I was not impressed. The flamenco show was nice although I would of preferred a live guitarist playing instead of recorded music. I will visit again but just to have drinks.

This is rare for us to dine out on Thanksgiving. We had a reservations, and our seating was timely. eWe have eaten at the Columbia on several occasions. Wasn't sure about getting a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, but reading about the stuffing made my decision. The Thanksgiving dinner was delicious. Our waiter Scott was wonderful, as are most of the seasoned servers at the restaurant. We have never been disappointed.

The Columbia is great as always. We now go here for Thanksgiving every year, just not in the main dining room (it's too noisy - the bar or even better the Anna Lucia room). I was never a big fan of stuffing with sausage, but I have to say that they've changed my mind. One of the great things about going to the Columbia is that they have a wonderful Thanksgiving feast, but if you are not in the mood for turkey - you have all of that lovely Cuban food to choose from!

Decided to try this spanish restaurant for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. They did not disappoint. Turkey and all the fixins' were terrific and the energy in the packed restaurant made for a very festive ambiance. Staff was a little frazzled, but did a great job considering the constant volume.

As a longtime Columbia Restaurant patron, I can say the quality of the service has declined markedly over the years. The service seems disorganized and frenetic. I will say that opening a different entry point for patrons with reservations on holidays eased the check-in and seating process significantly - this particular feature is well done. The quality of the "Thanksgiving Feast" has also declined and isn't worth the price, e.g. the turkey tasted like it had been reheated in a microwave oven, the cranberry sauce was tasteless, a difficult feat with cranberries, the gravy was also flavorless, although the mashed potatoes were very good which is no small feat for mass production. To be fair, the regular menu items, particularly the "traditional" Cuban and Spanish fare like black bean soup, puerco asado, Cuban sandwiches, bistec de palomilla, paella, and etc. are still delicious of high quality and are worth the price.

My husband and three children came here for Thanksgiving. It was well worth it. Generous amount of food, excellent bread. Our server could've had more personality, she was kind of dry, but it was busy so I get it. I'm just used to more interaction from the server especially considering children seem to need something every two seconds :)
