The Columbia restaurant is a Tamp icon. Ybor City is a fun location with bars and cigar stores but the real gem is the Columbia. The reception and the service were both top notch. And of course the food was wonderful. My wife enjoyed the crab stuffed shrimp while had the traditional Cuba combination plate. Both excellent. The waiter was in a tuxedo, the dining room with it red walls, special lighting and art work made for a memorable event. Anyone who visits Tampa must make dining at Columbia a MUST!
The service was great! Connie our Waitress was fantastic. 1905 salad was sub par. The lettuce was old looking. Arroz was salty and sandy. Besides the service, the Cuban sandwich was great as well. The food was definitely not worth the money. First and last time visit. It did not meet the hype.
Excellent service! Delicious food! Great place!
This is my Go-To restaurant to visit when in Tampa. Great food, great service.
Excellent quality food and venue. All members of the party were satisfied.
Huge, beautifully decorated restaurant with a menu that has so many great choices, you have a hard time deciding on what to get. Service was friendly and each room has great decor.
Constantine was FABULOUS! The food was amazing and we will be back!!!
Great atmosphere. Food was fabulous.
We have dined at Columbia Restaurant for years. We have never been disappointed.
I haven’t been to the Ybor Columbia in 20 years. I took my wife there for lunch and sat at a table in the gazebo portion of the restaurant. The service was perfect and we enjoyed the pitcher of mojito that was made at our table. The ingredients were fresh and put together beautifully. I recommend not waiting 20 years to enjoy this restaurant once again! We’ll be back soon.
Been here several times. Are waitress, however, had a strange attitude as if we were bothering her. Food was great.
The food was just decent. The service was terrible!!! The waiter, and manager, had to be reminded 4 times (twice each) that we were missing one of our appetizers. We sat for a large part of the meal with empty water/coke glasses because the server was missing in action. Half the table ordered cocktails which the glasses sat empty with no visit/attention from the waiter to ask if another was wanted. Halfway through our meal another server dropped a tray of dishes near our table, in which glass cut my leg. The manager offered me a bandaid and a glass of sangria (I already had a full glass because half the table was splitting a pitcher). Half my table was asked to stand up and "get out if the way" so they could sweep up the broken glass/dishes. Every other table had their server box up their leftover food. Our server just simply handed us boxes for us to do it ourselves. We went to the Columbia because friends heard it was a local gem. They are newer to the area and said they would rate the place as a "C-" and do not plan to go back. This is my 2nd trip and my 2nd poor experience with the Columbia in Ybor within the last 2 years. I will not go back. I can find multiple dozen other places in the Tampa Bay area where I can have a nice dinner, better food, and a much better experience. On top of it all, the Columbia marked my Open Table reservation as a no show to which I had to dispute.
First time at this gem in Ybor City! We went for a dinner and had the experience of the Flamenco dancers! It was just an overall great experience! The service was great too!
Thoroughly enjoyed the dinner and show (dancing) with my young daughters. Went to celebrate with the ladies and the staff were extremely welcoming, warm, and detailed. Did not have to ask for anything, the evening ran like a well oiled machine.
46th wedding anniversary. Wonderful. Great entertainment. Super server. Delicious food. Delightful experience.
We were there Saturday had reservations for 5 pm got there early and seated us at 4:30 which was great. Sat right in front of the kitchen which wasn't to bad but not my preference. Our waiter had to have been new, we have always enjoyed the male waiter atmosphere, but the one that we had was very business, would tell us we would have to wait he had other tables, he was very short on visits with us, Our food had been sitting for a while, did not enjoy my meal at all it was cold and the plantains were very hard not ripe at all.
Yes we will be back but this was our first non enjoyable meal at the Colombian.
This is one of the best restaurants in the United States. Very historic, true to the culture.
Columbia was a wonderful dining experience! We would go again anytime we are in Tampa.
Columbia is worth it just to check it off the list. Repeat visits not necessary.
Disappointed in your salteado de carne for the money certainly could have been much better we had to ask waiter for salt, vinegar, pepper and some hot sauce to Doctor it up the sangria we had to ask waiter for more oranges to put in it and some cinnamon 😞
We own a restaurant as well ...we don’t serve salteado But we are from Peru and certainly know what it is supposed to taste like maybe cook was having bad day.... if we come back will not order salteado 😞
Good experience at the Colombia, but despite having a reservation and requesting a seat not by the bar, that’s all they had, and it was very difficult to carry on a conversation at the table. The croquetas langosta were worth coming back for, but the boliche was lacking flavor. Service wasn’t great, but that’s typical for the Colombia. Good overall.
Very nice atmosphere and food
We had a great experience at Columbia in Yorkshire city! The food and service were wonderful!
The Columbia Ybor is always a wonderful experience! Highly recommend being seated for the Flaminco show if you are there for dinner. There is an $8 entertainment fee for this, but it’s worth it. Food and wait staff is always excellent. You have to try the 2905 salad!
Not what I expected. The food quality has changed. It was just a big disappointment. $160.00 disappointment. I ordered the sea food paella and my wife had the snapper and a few appetizers.
The food did not taste well. The show was the only thing that we enjoyed. You
It is a must see but overpriced. It expected it and glad we went. Great service and good food. Lots of atmosphere.
My 2nd visit to Tampa and visited Columbia both times.
Great food and atmosphere.
This restaurant is exceptional! Service is perfect, decor is beautiful, food is wonderful! We had a slight wait past our reservation time but its was well worth it. The restaurant is always packed so you have to be patient.
Excellent experience! Historic restaurant in Ybor City.
Great food in a restaurant filled with history in a beautiful building. Great selection of some of the best Cuban food. A must place to eat if in Tampa (Ybor).
This is my aunt’s favorite restaurant. We always request the “patio” which is the room that makes it almost feel like you’re outside… In my opinion the best room in the restaurant. Our server was fabulous, the wine was fabulous, and the food was fabulous as always! Of course you have to start with a 1905 salad. Then I had the grouper with crabmeat and it was delicious!
Noisy, noisy, noisy...overpriced for just adequate food,,,only good thing about the experience was a very attentive waiter.
Great experience, food was fantastic.
The Columbia Restaurant is a place that you have to visit when visiting Tampa. It is a beautiful building inside and out that is well maintained to retain its historical heritage. The food is authentic presented in a traditional manner by a well trained and engaged wait staff. It’s been 40 years since I have returned to Ybor City and it is as beautiful and outstanding as it was then.
Everything was great except that the stuffed shrimp was very salty and hard to eat. The crab meat stuffing was very salty.
Wow, always impressive. This is the original Columbia Restaurant location and the best of the bunch for an authentic taste of Tampa. Sitting in the original part of the restaurant with the 1905 bar and architectural details is a treat, it's just beautiful. Service is impeccable tableside. Hard to find fault with a place that pays so much attention to detail. Food is great, it's expensive but worth the experience. This is a loud, special occasion place. It's a place to eat, drink and enjoy the historical place.
This was my first time back since 2000, we were down for a state competition for high school theatre. And again, it was a wonderful experience. This time I surprised my mother for her birthday. She loved it as well. Our server Damon was polite, friendly, helpful and courteous. I will always recommend the Columbia to anyone who is looking for a unique and great dinning experience.
We have the pork sandwich and it has lemon juice in excess to the point it was barely to eat. Another dish was the picadillo a la habanera and it did not have the flavor of the dish. Food quality vary from restaurant to restaurant. We had ate in other Columbia restaurant and the food was delicious. Not this time.
Excellent service, our waitress Jodi was great
Great food and great time!
