We had a great meal and excellent service!!! We love the Columbia House when we’re in town visiting friends and family.

Much better than our last visit a few years ago. We almost wrote this place off, but decided to try it again. Travis, our server, was attentive and helpful. My grouper Bilbao was flavorful, but fish was over cooked. Hubby’s ropa viejo was very tasty. 1905 salad was good, but salty. Nice atmosphere, good sangria. We’d go back.

The restaurant took us as soon as we walked in which was 30 minutes before our reservation. Our dinner was great, the wine was perfect.

Made reservations through Open Table. Received confirmation email. At the restaurant I was told they had NO reservation for my party of 4. Three of us were celebrating birthdays. Girl at the front desk had an attitude. I explained about the birthday celebration . We were finally seated in the area we requested. Long wait before our server appeared. She did not introduce herself. Totally disinterested. I again mentioned the birthday celebration. Took long to get water and drinks. She got the table to the left of ours the wrong food. Waited much too long for 2 salads and a sandwich and entree. She never asked if everything was ok or did we need anything. My friend never had her water refilled. She brought tea instead of coke and never refilled our water or beverage glasses. When she finally brought the food she didn't even pause to see if we needed anything. I had just eaten at Columbia 3 days before and had a wonderful server and delicious 1905 salad. Ordered salad again but it was nothing like the other day. Not enough garlic or cheese which she did not hand grate as the previous server. I also asked for extra dressing on the side and she forgot and then took forever to bring it. On a visit to the Ladies, most of the women were all complaining about how slow the service was and that the food wasn't up to snuff. The ladies to my right had our server who was just as abrupt with them and they too, had to wait a long time for soup and salad. We finally got our checks with no birthday recognition. I asked the server about it. She said no one told her. ( I told her) But the front desk should have passed the request to her. It was on the Open table reservation but the hostess said she had no reservation. Very disappointed in the visit. The server did apologize and offered us flan but we told her we had dietary issues so she brought us a thin piece of cake. The decided to come out and sing when 2 were absent!. Very disappointing lunch.

I’m from Ohio and was told by several people to visit the Columbia restaurant while in St Aug. I enjoyed the food and atmosphere however the lack of fine dining service left me feeling less than. When I asked our server what their specials of the evening, she literally told me to look at the card on the table! I was shocked. And there was only 1 featured dinner. I wished she was more professional and told us the specials for the evening as a part of her welcoming us. We ordered two pitchers of sangrias (1 white and 1 red) and she was slipping our drinks as she stirred them. I’m wondering now if she way new? Between forgetting our guests non-alcoholic beverage and general lack of serving etiquette, overall I wasn’t impressed.

I had the stuffed croupier. It was almost inedible. So salty. The only thing that was good was the bread and asparagus. I'm not a complainer, so we left without saying anything, but would not go back. For the price, everything should be amazing.

The shrimp and rice special was very good, the Cuban dish not as good. The waiter was either not very knowledgeable or in too much of a hurry to help us pick a meal. Overall, the experience was good.

The Columbia is a long time favorite of mine and it lived up to my high expectations this time as well. The service is always great. The food is always yummy. I love the black bean soup. This time I tried their Tortilla Espanola and I loved it too.

The only item ordered that we thoroughly enjoyed was the 1905 salad. The food that was ordered seemed to have jus been slapped on a plate. We were not happy paying over $100 for a horrible meal. Would not go back very disappointed. Not worth the hype.

On a golf outing with 11 guys (12 total) in St Augustine. Made the reservation on the same day for 7:30 pm. Arrived early and after a few adult beverages we were seated about 7:35. Our server (Abby or Abbie) greeted us immediately and from that point on, we were treated like royalty. Abbie did NOT miss a beat. Everything we asked for or ordered was absolutely perfect and on time. The food for all 12 of us came out at nearly the same time and was hot and she was flawless in giving the right entree to the right person. To a person, we raved about the portions and the quality of our food. Also, each of us commented to one another how superb of a job Abbie did. As the “leader” of my group, everyone thanked me for choosing Columbia for our last dinner of the trip. When I was working and traveling my entire career, I never tipped more than 20 or 25% but that evening I felt compelled to tip her more and tipped this fantastic server 50% - yes, 50!! I sure hope Open Table shares my comments to the restaurant and to Abbie so they know how much she was appreciated. Thanks Columbia and Abbie. You’re both amazing. Columbia is a good go-to. It has been around for a very long time, and for good reason. The only negative thing I could say was that the women's bathroom did not smell clean. The food and service were both excellent.

We are relocating to Saint Augustine. And this is one of our favorite places that we come to, you or large, no elbows hitting each other and I'm very comfortable in my wheelchair. Add the food is excellent. We always have a good time and we have a table of 10 and here is a whole hell of a lot more affordable than New York
My wife and I live if for great mahi mahi !

Keep up the great work and your waitstaff is awesome also friendly and knowledgeable

Thank you

So many choices on the menu, it was difficult to make a decision. The waitress guided us through some of the favorites and we were very pleased with our meals. Authentic tasting food, reminded me of meals that I've had in Spain.

The atmosphere at the St. Augustine branch of The Columbia is antiseptic. It's pretty, but it looks like Disney attraction.

The wait staff should learn to pronounce Spanish.

The Sangria de Tinto was disappointing. Not enough Brandy and there may have even been some kind of soft drink in the pitcher. Considering they only used a split of red wine, there had to be some kind of extender used (I suspect 7-Up).

The Boliche entrée was rather skimpy and they tried to make up for it with copious amounts of rice and beans. The beans were very good though.

Super loud no conversation possible. Food was cold. Chairs were so uncomfortable made for little mini people. Super full people on top of each other. Waiters all congregating blocking the atmosphere. Sorry. Only good thing was the mojito

Wedding Anniversary Dinner (Disaster )
My wife order the Caesar salad 1905 it was soaked with vinegar , I can smell the vinegar where I was sitting
I order the garbanzo bean soup, the garbanzos bean uncooked, you can tell it came from a can
We both ordered the paella Valenciana, I was looking forward for this dinner
The paella had more chicken and pork than seafood, it looks like chicken, pork with yellow rice very disappointed, now for service our waitress didn't bother to remove the salad plate and the garbanzo bean cup they set there the whole night, she was gone for quite awhile
I told my wife is time to go, let's have dessert some where else.
We talked to the hostess about the service and the salad etc.. They told us that's the way it serve. We ask to speak with the manager, he came 10 minutes later we introduce ourselves and we told him about our complain service, and dinner his response was thank you for letting us know than he left, I believe he was in a hurry.
I, would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, specially our friends

Our best meal in St. Augustine! We had a reservation & were seated promptly. Our server was excellent. She provided good information that helped us make our dinner & dessert choices. Both of our fish dishes were outstanding as was the rice served along side. The white chocolate bread pudding & cafe con leche was the perfect ending. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Wonderful Spanish Cuisune - just amazing flavors and wines. Try Don Caesar’s Cabernet Sauvignon if you like a dry and memorable red wine. Get the bottle! The Robert tapas are in a fermented and delicious dressing and are carved from every other bone. Flan dessert is authentic and just damn good. For entree, we split the Spanish National dish which included shrimp, clams, squid, chicken and pork over yellow rice - heavenly!
