We had an amazing experience at the Columbia House. Our server was so attentive and explained how items were prepared because we have some food sensitivities. We enjoyed the wine, tapas, entrees and desserts- the whole nine yards! Wonderful memories and delicious food- it doesn’t get any better.
We had a great experience. Service impeccable. For outstanding.
We thought the food was mediocre. The sangria, both red and white, didn’t have cut up fruit and had no taste. The gazpacho had no kick. We were going to order dinner after the tapas, but didn’t bother
We only had tapas and salad. The tapas were great and the 1905 salad was absolutely wonderful. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Overall a great place to eat.
Old school charm, good food
What an amazing experience for us. We were treated like valued guests and yet like family. Food was outstanding and new to us. Service was efficient and friendly. I cannot recommend enough.
Always a favorite in St Augustine. Food, service & ambience always outstanding!
I am so happy they can now make the salad at your table. Makes it so fun
The food was fantastic and our server was great! Thank you, Elizabeth, for serving us well.
Beautiful restaurant in the heart of historic district. Food was delicious and service was great. The white chocolate bread pudding was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Definitely recommend a visit!
Great experience! The restaurant is beautiful. The Red Snapper Adelita was delicious.
The food was tasty. What made the experience so great was our server Danica. My wife recently had oral surgery and her mouth is very sensitive. When her meal came out it was unfortunately too spicy for her. Danica immediately had another dish prepared and had the kitchen tone down the seasoning. She did all of this with a smile and a stellar attitude.
Almost everything was great and we have been to the Columbia many times and we love it. Their was a hair in my bread so I would just say be careful in the kitchen. Of course it could have been in the flour. Love the Columbia.
First time at the Columbia, food and service good.
What a lovely setting, absolutely gorgeous. Excellent friendly service. I went to meet an old friend for lunch and ordered the 1/2 Cuban sandwich with the salad which is tossed table-side and it was one of the best salads I've had in a while, just full of goodness. They were out of the croquets so I'll have to come back another time. It's really just a beautiful building right in the heart of the Old City in St. Augustine and apparently difficult to get a reservation so perhaps I should make one now for next month when we'll be entertaining out of town guests.
I am Cuban American. My husband and daughter's boyfriend ordered the Cuban Roast Pork. Instead they got a boneless pork chop. The yuca was terrible.
Waiter was more attentive to other table behind us. My food came out cold after waiting forever. We were excited but will not be back! My children were behaved and the waiter acted like they were an inconvenience.
Make reservations! Columbia Restaurant was amazing. This was our first visit; we can’t wait to go back to try more dishes. The 1905 Salad and Chicken Salteado was delicious as well as the Cuban bread and butter. I tried both the red and white sangria, which were both divine. The service was quick and professional!
We had an excellent time here. The atmosphere is wonderful and even though open, a side table gives the privacy you are looking for. There is a cozy bar room on the 2nd floor. Our food was delicious and the waitress was lovely. Will go back when we have our next special occasion.
Ana was our waitress for the occasion, she was delightful & hospitable. Me and me wife have been going there for years and are always enjoying our experience every time. The food was phenomenal as always. Thank you for making my date. I can’t wait to return
Like always great food, staff and decor. Been going for at least 6 years at this location. Delicious Cava Sangria ! Large menu and free parking in back ( Spanish St)
Always a delicious meal & great service. Love the 1905 Salad.
We usually love the Columbia! Unfortunately, this time our server was very poor. He got our order wrong and had to come back with food a couple of times. We ordered two different salads, one with just turkey, no tomatoes, and one with everything. The waiter mixed them together and then proceeded to take out the tomatoes at our table. My appetizer was served after everyone else was eating their main dishes. We ordered a second carafe of sangria for our table before we received our food. It didn’t come out until we were finished eating and it was not sweet like the first one, it was very bitter. We mentioned this to our waiter who said he was sorry, but that he made it the same way he made the first one. Needless to say it wasn’t our finest experience, but we will try the Columbia again because we have had great experiences in the past.
Dinner was delicious and service was good too!
We haven't been here in over two years, so it was nice to come back. The food was as good as we remembered. We had a newer server, do service was slow, but other servers stopped by to offer service.
Sons21 st birthday
Great food and service.
Great server and food. Definitely come back.
Someone in our group ordered paella so everyone else's orders came out warm (:!
Otherwise, everything was delicious!
40th birthday celebration
There is a reason this restaurant is so highly rated. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful - we felt like we were in Spain again. Our servers were excellent and attentive. With everyone so short staffed these days we felt well cared for. We ordered the Paella which was chocked full of seafood and chicken. We shared one order and we couldn't finish it. It was our 50th anniversary and The Columbia made it very special!
We have always enjoyed dining at the Columbia Restaurant. The food is consistently good and service is excellent. The reason for four stars is their parking situation. We were not able to find a spot to park and had to pay for parking down the street. This has happened to us in the past and might become a factor in our decision to eat there in the future.
Red snapper Adelita was delicious. I have had ropa vieja that was better. Unfortunately to add to its “average” taste, it was lukewarm when it arrived at the table. Overall the food experience was average but what was below par was our wait service. We were sitting at the table at least 10-12 minutes before being approached by our server but by then, I had already gone to the bar myself to order some drinks since not even water was offered in all that time). We were parched from the heat and all out sightseeing, we just needed some water at least. Apologies from
Our server but then we realized that it wasn’t so much that she was trying to juggle too many tables (understandable) but it was truly because she would stop and speak to every table about where she was from, where she had moved over the course of her life, her child, and on and on. It was just too much! This lack of good service really impacted the overall enjoyment of the restaurant itself.
Annaleise was our waitress and she was the cutest thing and did such a great job. The sangria and food was amazing
Outstanding!! We have been to every
one of the Columbia Restaurants and have never been disappointed!!
I have eaten in Columbia several times. This time the waitress was not the best. She was kind of impatient. She was training a new employee (Evans). Evans was fantastic. Nice personality. But main waitress No too nice. I think she was overwhelmed.
Women Bathroom was horrible. No soap. Super dirty ame by the end of our meal it was out of order. I will not probably book a reservation here again. This time was NOT nice!
Outstanding eating establishment. Highly recommend for anyone wanting something different with spice. And for sure get the 1905 salad
The food was delicious and our server was wonderful! Highly recommend!
We miss the stuffed pepper appetizer. The service was great!
