Our service was exceptional from hostess to waitress (Rachael)! Great place!!
Beautiful town, beautiful restaurant, and awesome food!! Can’t wait to go back!
Pleased overall... nice selection of food... drink and desserts. A beautiful restaurant, but a bit on the noisy side... but that may have been due to the obnoxiously loud drunk woman sitting a few tables down! LOL
First time eating here. Quite enjoyable and would return.
Delicious, just as I remembered!!
Columbia food is always very good. We were seated promptly. Only down side was not having out usual server. She disappeared to the kitchen for great lengths of time and waited until she had a full tray before bringing us anything including drinks. Delivered two courses together 🤨
This isn’t usual for this restaurant
I have been personally visiting Columbia’s is St Augustine since 1992. I make special arrangements to always visit this restaurant with our family and celebrate special occasions. I was disappointed this visit, I had made prior reservations as I usually do. I told them it was a visit for our wedding anniversary. They did not do anything special for our anniversary as they had in previous years.
Not note card on the table . Nothing.
We always enjoy The Columbia. We've visited four locations, but are particularly fond of the St. Augustine restaurant - perhaps because it was our first. LOVE the 1905 Salad - have tried recipes we've found online, but haven't been successful in recreating it. The White Sangria is delicious. And we've never had an entree that wasn't great. The service is always exceptional, whether it's just two of us, or when we took our family of fourteen. And I always get something from the gift shop - additional reminders of the good times we've had there. The Columbia is always on our list when we go to Florida!
We had a great meal and excellent service!!! We love the Columbia House when we’re in town visiting friends and family.
Outstanding experience always.
Much better than our last visit a few years ago. We almost wrote this place off, but decided to try it again. Travis, our server, was attentive and helpful. My grouper Bilbao was flavorful, but fish was over cooked. Hubby’s ropa viejo was very tasty. 1905 salad was good, but salty. Nice atmosphere, good sangria. We’d go back.
The restaurant took us as soon as we walked in which was 30 minutes before our reservation. Our dinner was great, the wine was perfect.
Made reservations through Open Table. Received confirmation email. At the restaurant I was told they had NO reservation for my party of 4. Three of us were celebrating birthdays. Girl at the front desk had an attitude. I explained about the birthday celebration . We were finally seated in the area we requested. Long wait before our server appeared. She did not introduce herself. Totally disinterested. I again mentioned the birthday celebration. Took long to get water and drinks. She got the table to the left of ours the wrong food. Waited much too long for 2 salads and a sandwich and entree. She never asked if everything was ok or did we need anything. My friend never had her water refilled. She brought tea instead of coke and never refilled our water or beverage glasses. When she finally brought the food she didn't even pause to see if we needed anything. I had just eaten at Columbia 3 days before and had a wonderful server and delicious 1905 salad. Ordered salad again but it was nothing like the other day. Not enough garlic or cheese which she did not hand grate as the previous server. I also asked for extra dressing on the side and she forgot and then took forever to bring it. On a visit to the Ladies, most of the women were all complaining about how slow the service was and that the food wasn't up to snuff. The ladies to my right had our server who was just as abrupt with them and they too, had to wait a long time for soup and salad. We finally got our checks with no birthday recognition. I asked the server about it. She said no one told her. ( I told her) But the front desk should have passed the request to her. It was on the Open table reservation but the hostess said she had no reservation. Very disappointed in the visit. The server did apologize and offered us flan but we told her we had dietary issues so she brought us a thin piece of cake. The decided to come out and sing when 2 were absent!. Very disappointing lunch.
Great place with a lot of history..Tapas were excellent...the Bambino was pretty good....service is ok
I’m from Ohio and was told by several people to visit the Columbia restaurant while in St Aug. I enjoyed the food and atmosphere however the lack of fine dining service left me feeling less than. When I asked our server what their specials of the evening, she literally told me to look at the card on the table! I was shocked. And there was only 1 featured dinner. I wished she was more professional and told us the specials for the evening as a part of her welcoming us. We ordered two pitchers of sangrias (1 white and 1 red) and she was slipping our drinks as she stirred them. I’m wondering now if she way new? Between forgetting our guests non-alcoholic beverage and general lack of serving etiquette, overall I wasn’t impressed.
Good food and good service. Servers and greeters/ hostesses were all attentive and did their job professionally and friendly. Will go back whenever I visit. I will recommend.
I had the stuffed croupier. It was almost inedible. So salty. The only thing that was good was the bread and asparagus. I'm not a complainer, so we left without saying anything, but would not go back. For the price, everything should be amazing.
The shrimp and rice special was very good, the Cuban dish not as good. The waiter was either not very knowledgeable or in too much of a hurry to help us pick a meal. Overall, the experience was good.
We were in St. Augustine for the weekend and Columbia came highly recommended by a friend. We were not disappointed. Loved it and would like to try the one in Ybor next.
Waiter was awesome and the food great
Recommend making reservations as everyone else knows how good this place is
Will come back and recommend to others in conversation!!
The food is good, but they serve small portions compare to the price.
The Columbia is a long time favorite of mine and it lived up to my high expectations this time as well. The service is always great. The food is always yummy. I love the black bean soup. This time I tried their Tortilla Espanola and I loved it too.
Nice place, the Spanish food wasn’t so authentic. The flavors were a little dull.
Nice lunch specials with sangria made table side was a nice touch
The only item ordered that we thoroughly enjoyed was the 1905 salad. The food that was ordered seemed to have jus been slapped on a plate. We were not happy paying over $100 for a horrible meal. Would not go back very disappointed. Not worth the hype.
We loved it. Nice atmosphere. We had kids with us and had a lovely evening and enjoyed lovely wine and the food was delicious. Our service was great!
Memorable St. Augustine experience! Yummy Tapas, Fun beverages, Energetic atmosphere and Delicious desserts! Jona helped us make the perfect selections!
On a golf outing with 11 guys (12 total) in St Augustine. Made the reservation on the same day for 7:30 pm. Arrived early and after a few adult beverages we were seated about 7:35. Our server (Abby or Abbie) greeted us immediately and from that point on, we were treated like royalty. Abbie did NOT miss a beat. Everything we asked for or ordered was absolutely perfect and on time. The food for all 12 of us came out at nearly the same time and was hot and she was flawless in giving the right entree to the right person. To a person, we raved about the portions and the quality of our food. Also, each of us commented to one another how superb of a job Abbie did. As the “leader” of my group, everyone thanked me for choosing Columbia for our last dinner of the trip. When I was working and traveling my entire career, I never tipped more than 20 or 25% but that evening I felt compelled to tip her more and tipped this fantastic server 50% - yes, 50!! I sure hope Open Table shares my comments to the restaurant and to Abbie so they know how much she was appreciated. Thanks Columbia and Abbie. You’re both amazing. The best ever! Thank you!! The food was amazing. The atmosphere amazing. The worker amazing. They followed my requests in my reservation perfectly. Thank you again I couldn’t have asked for a better evening with my love.
Columbia is a good go-to. It has been around for a very long time, and for good reason. The only negative thing I could say was that the women's bathroom did not smell clean. The food and service were both excellent.
We are relocating to Saint Augustine. And this is one of our favorite places that we come to, you or large, no elbows hitting each other and I'm very comfortable in my wheelchair. Add the food is excellent. We always have a good time and we have a table of 10 and here is a whole hell of a lot more affordable than New York
My wife and I live if for great mahi mahi !
Keep up the great work and your waitstaff is awesome also friendly and knowledgeable
So many choices on the menu, it was difficult to make a decision. The waitress guided us through some of the favorites and we were very pleased with our meals. Authentic tasting food, reminded me of meals that I've had in Spain.
40th wedding anniversary. Expressed this during reservations online and at check in.
Disappointed that NOBODY acknowledged our special occasion
The atmosphere at the St. Augustine branch of The Columbia is antiseptic. It's pretty, but it looks like Disney attraction.
The wait staff should learn to pronounce Spanish.
The Sangria de Tinto was disappointing. Not enough Brandy and there may have even been some kind of soft drink in the pitcher. Considering they only used a split of red wine, there had to be some kind of extender used (I suspect 7-Up).
The Boliche entrée was rather skimpy and they tried to make up for it with copious amounts of rice and beans. The beans were very good though.
Super loud no conversation possible. Food was cold. Chairs were so uncomfortable made for little mini people. Super full people on top of each other. Waiters all congregating blocking the atmosphere. Sorry. Only good thing was the mojito
Great restaurant with a unique ambiance and plenty of room. The food was authentic and plentiful. Service was prompt and courteous and by using OpenTable we bypassed others who were waiting 30+ minutes at lunch on Saturday to eat here.
Nice amazing food the salad 101 oh my was so delicious, the sangria was so good ... food was so good - we enjoyed a lot and we always come
Back here —
The food was excellent as always. The cuban was huge. Glad we shared it.
The food here is great and authentic! The service was phenomenal! It's a great place to make a memory. (Anniversary, Birthday, get togethers, etc.)
Service was really slow. Had to wait 20 min after seated just to get water. Food did not come out until almost an hour after seated. Total time was 1:30-2:00 just for two entrees.
