Fabulous restaurant and excellent food!!
Entrée named "Cuban Pork" was a disappointment when compared to other Cuban pork dishes I have had. This one is dry overcooked pork tenderloin topped with a runny bland sauce. If, like me, you are expecting "puerco asado" look elsewhere. The black beans and rice were also dry and tasteless, totally unseasoned.
My wife's grilled mahi was pretty good, well cooked, but again the yellow rice was dry and tasteless. Drinks were good if over priced and service by Marayah was excellent. Nice ambiance.
We've had much better meals at other Columbia locations.
The place is very comfortable and hasn’t change in the many years we have gone there. However the service was just adequate. Not like the service we are use to at the several Columbia restaurants and this one also. The salad was not quite right. Too much dressing and I suspect it was the bottle dressing they sell. I know you don’t do table side dressing but this really missed the mark. This is your signature salad. I asked about a dish i couldn’t find on the menu and the waitress said the name and then said she didn’t like it?
Excellent food and ambiance.
Great food, ambience, and staff! Always fun to eat here, unique food selection and memorable desserts!
They are still great but the limited menu due to covid is really a let down. We'll be back for sure but we can't wait for these crazy restrictions to be changed.
Advertised as Spanish but mostly Cuban food.
I have been going to this restaurant since it opened and never had a poor experience until this visit and our food was barely warm. The waitress offered it to us almost as soon as we got our salad and we asked to wait till we finished the salad so when she brought the food it was hardly fit to eat. The salad is not tossed at your table anymore and they charge an additional $7.00 for a side salad, this was always part of the dining experience, I probably won't return.
Great place for wife’s birthday dinner
The Columbia Restaurant is beautiful historical site in the center of Old ST Augustine. The traditional Cuban cuisine is so delicious and Ernesto our server was outstanding, his attention to details and recommendations were perfect!
Just not the same as our previous experiences at the Columbia. Our server Megan was great. Very professional, friendly and attentive.
We were disappointed with the food quality. The "1905" salad was not as good as in the past. Salad no longer prepared fresh at table side, understandable due to Covid restrictions, but salad was soggy and oily, lettuce was wilted. Seems like it had been prepared and sat out for a while.
After hearing about the special, (3) 5oz. pork chops with rice and beans for $25, decided to go with the La Completa Cubana, to try a sample of all the meats. For the price, $28, was expecting more than a single thin slice of pork loin and eye of round beef. According to the description the beef was supposed to be stuffed with chorizo. This didn't appear to be the case. Also the meats were over cooked and very dry. The empanada was ok, nothing special just ground beef. Meal was served with rice and beans and a couple of small plantain slices. The plantains were good.
Regret having not gone with the special. From the description it was definitely a better value. But as always, the Sangria's were great.
Very happy with the service and the food. Definitely recommend.
The waitress was wonderful. She also engaged in conversation with us and assisted with describing the entrees which was very helpful with our decisions. It was a very pleasant atmosphere. Thank you and we enjoyed the visit very much.
Not yet ready for prime time! Will return after COVID 19
The special of the night pork chops were not very special and served with only some plain white rice. An average meal ay best. Another member of my party had had the three Cuban combination and his meal was spectacular. Need to work on your specials!!
Wow what a disappointment. The salad was premade and soggy and the cuban was dry as a bone..no pickle and clearly had been kept under a heat lamp...I have been eating here for years and was very disappointed
Columbia is one of the prettiest restaurants in St. Augustine. It has the old world charm and the food is always good. Tables were spaced well apart which was definitely necessary as there were a few large families dining there. Will go back even though it is on the expensive side.
My husband and I had a nice late lunch/early dinner. Our server was Lexi and she was excellent.
No wait with our reservation and the service and staff were great! Elizabeth our server answered all of our questions and was very friendly and professional!!
Probably my favorite restaurant. Have been coming here for more than 30 years. Food and service consistently good. The 1905 salad is divine!
This was a recommendation by several people and it did not fail to deliver. Very good food, nice selection as well as well made. Staff was great.
Make sure you get a reservation because they were turning people away with 2 hour waits because of Covid and it's that good. I had the stuffed red snapper and it was fantastic. Appetizers were also really great!
Our favorite of all the Columbia Restaurants! and that is considering we live in Tampa. The food and service was delicious from start to finish and as always the quality and price is reasonable for the amount of food you served.
Dined at Columbia House because of their annual Community Harvest Fundraiser. Diners are given a list of local charities and 5% of pre-tip bill is donated to the charity you chose. It is a great opportunity to dine in a wonderful restaurant with superior service and help out the community as well. Covid safety precautions were well done. We felt very safe.
We have ate here before and it is always tasty and service is wonderful. We always make a reservation so we do not have a long wait time. Worth the wait.
This place never fails. Had the 1905 salad. It’s more fun when they make it at your table, but the times we are in make that impossible right now. Still good. And make sure you pick up their dressing and seasoning at their gift store!
Reservations are a must! We made a reservation for lunch a few hours before we planned to arrive and were seated immediately, despite a significant line. Our waitress, Kelly, was excellent and we felt like we were getting the VIP treatment. We also grabbed a to go order for a friend and it was ready and accurate exactly when promised. We were also very impressed with Columbia's September giving program: they donate a portion of your tab to the local charity of your choosing (a lengthy list). Especially in these challenging times, it was very impressive to see a for-profit business not putting this long-standing tradition on hold. Very impressive experience, from every aspect: food, table service, overall customer service, corporate philanthropy. We will be back to sample more of the expansive menu!
The food was delicious and cooked perfectly.
Staff seemed to be following Covid protocols.
We would definitely go back.
The Columbia Restaurant is a life time favorite. Many family memories have been made there. The food always excellent and the Sangria not to be be missed!
The food was amazing! My husband and I were visiting St. Augustine for a weekend get away.
Food was terrible. They were out of grouper and replaced with pompano. Was definitely not fresh. Very fishy smell and taste and flesh was grayish brown. Waitress was great and did the right thing by taking the entree off our bill. Husband had the special and it was barely warm when served. Steak medallion with blue crab and tiny and tough piece of lobster. Don’t remember waitresses name but she was the only bright spot of the entire experience so thank you!
Delicious lunch once again. Columbia never disappoints to deliver excellent food& service. During this difficult time with Covid-19 felt completely comfortable and staff maintained friendly and efficient.
First time going. The food was pretty salty and overall just not the best. Not sure if I’d go back. Pretty restaurant though!
Staff/servers were amazing as always. Nice social distancing in place. Didn't feel like we were crowded and we were a party of 10. Other tables were well distanced. Food was amazing. Fabulous birthday celebation for my husband.
We always enjoy eating at the Columbia. We love the 1905 salad and their seafood is outstanding.
Meagan was quite rude. She had no people skills and her customer service...poor just like her snob remarks. The other waitress was very forgetful. The table received their meals and my toddler still had not gotten her meal or drink. She informed us it was because she was recovering from Labor Day. Classy!
Restaurant is always fabulous. It’s rare that you find such excellent service with a waiting staff! The food was amazing. I had half a Cuban sandwich in the 1905 salad and although they don’t prepare a salad at the table since COVID-19, it was still as good as always. Beyonce transforms you back to the good all days of Cuba!
Always enjoy our visit here. All as expected. Waiters always go above on service. Nice treat for summer afternoon.
Very nice , superb service, wait staff helped make special request for anniversary.
Great service at the bar and at our table. Servers were very very good
