Spanish
Family-owned and operated for more than 116 years, Columbia has earned acclaim for its old-world charm and award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine.

Casual attire is fine, but we don’t allow sleeveless shirts on men in the dining room.

Join us for century-old family recipes like Paella "a la Valenciana," Roast Pork "a la Cubana," and fresh seafood specialties.

Don’t miss Columbia’s Original “1905” Salad®, prepared tableside with our delicious, freshly-made dressing, a 100-year-old family recipe of fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar and Spanish extra virgin olive oil.

Be sure to sample a fine Spanish wine like Montecillo or Campillo. Relax in our courtyard or Mediterranean-style dining rooms, filled with hundreds of hand-painted tiles and Spanish-style fountains.

We are a sister to the Columbia in Tampa's Ybor City, founded in 1905. Children's menu available. Open 365-days a year, including all holidays.

Normally my go to when company comes to town and I was excited to bring my mom and aunts for their first visit. Our meal consisted of one hot entree and the rest was 1905 salads (everyone should have the salad). The hot entree came out first and the salads 15-20 minutes later. The problem is the salads are made table side, why could this not be coordinated. I will add our waitress chose to “memorize” our order instead of writing it down for a table of 7. Impressive if she could pull it off. She almost did…disappointed but I’ll always go back because it’s one of our favorites.

I think the food and service at Columbia has deteriorated severly. I was not impressed with the quality of the food, and service was spotty (i.e. server didn’t bring or offer water; waited for drink order, etc.).

Roja viega was delicious. My Palomino steak was excellent flavor but a little too dry. Red sangria excellent as always. The 1905 salad was perfect. We did report there was no soap in the bathroom when we first checked in. When we left an hour and a half later, still no soap. I wonder how many staff members didn’t wash their hands with soap?

I was disappointed with my visit this time. The service was extremely poor, very slow even though they were not crowded. Our reservation was at 5:15 PM; we were seated just a few minutes after that. I told the waitress I wanted paella right away, yet food still took about an hour. The service was overall very slow, trying to get simple things like bread, water, sangria and a second pitcher of Sangria. Worse yet, my paella was cold. Normally I'd send it back but given the time it had already taken I ate it anyway. I've been there many times, and this was by far not their best.

The steak I had ordered was cooked to order but the quality of meat and seasoning was pathetic. The $46 steak was a complete disappointment. I informed the manager of Columbia and advised him of the situation. He advised he would check with staff but never returned to inform me of any what had happened.

Service was not on point. Although he was nice he seemed out of sorts. Sangria not as good as normal. Caesar salad was a little wilted. Black beans were awesome. 1905 salad had way too much dressing. Not a great experience

As always, the Columbia is one of the best restaurants in the Flagler, St. Johns, Volusia area. Taken right on time with the reservation. Service was excellent, food was excellent. I would say prices are $$ to $$$ with plenty of selections to satisfy any desire - seafood, chicken or beef. Cuban spin on it all. I have celebrated special occasions as well as regular lunches and dinners here since the early 80's and have never been let down once.. Very clean, too!

On Point! As Always, and cannot say enough good things about the 1905 Salad. Service was amazing, young lady named Nathalia was great! We split 3 entrees between 4 adults and 2 children, along with the salad, an appetizer and a kid’s chicken tender meal that we didn’t need because the little ones loved the dishes we ordered for the table. I’m a redneck so Excuse my botching of the names!: Ropa Vieja, some shrimp with yellow rice dish and a salmon dish. All were next level!

I was really looking forward to celebrating my fiance's birthday dinner here but must say that we were both really disappointed. Unfortunately, the only thing good was the atmosphere. The food was a big let down, from the bean soup to the croquettes to the Entree and might I add that even the Sangria was disappointing. I have had much better Sangria's at Carrabba's. Wish I had better things to say about this restaurant but as for me it was a one and done.

What a great place for authentic Spanish food! The menu is enticing with many choices of the Latin culture. The atmosphere is colorful and fun. Especially enjoyed the Sangria, empanadas, Arroz con pollo, Spanish bean soup, and the fantastic 1905 salad. Not to mention their authentic Cuban Sandwich!! Top it off with churros for dessert. Just a lovely place. Always busy so you need reservations!!

We have been going to the Columbia for years - both in Tampa and St. Augustine - and I have always considered it a classy place with great Cuban food. This most recent experience will ensure we don't go back. We had reservations for 2:30 but finished other errands early and showed up at 1:15. The hostess ( a term to be used loosely here) noted we were early and said she would try to work us in ... in a very terse manner. She told us she would text us when our table was ready. We did a walk-about and returned to the place at 2:00. At that point I realized for some odd reason I could not receive or send texts inside the restaurant. I told the hostess this and she just frowned at me. Several walk-in groups were seated before us so I could only assume that the hostess was not trying to work us in. We were seated at 2:30. There was a large group of pirate wenches (seriously! - dressed like something out of a risqué pirate movie not suitable for children) seated next to us. With this large fowl mouthed group and another group behind us, it was so noisy that we had to shout with our waitress in order to place our oder. Table conversation was out of the question with all the noise. So, not classy anymore. The hostess was snarky, the ambiance was worse than any restaurant I have ever visited. The food was good but not worth waiting over an hour for....or even 15 minutes. There are lots of good restaurants in St. Augustine. Try one of those rather than go to the Columbia.
