Spanish
Family-owned and operated for more than 116 years, Columbia has earned acclaim for its old-world charm and award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine.

Casual attire is fine, but we don’t allow sleeveless shirts on men in the dining room.

Join us for century-old family recipes like Paella "a la Valenciana," Roast Pork "a la Cubana," and fresh seafood specialties.

Don’t miss Columbia’s Original “1905” Salad®, prepared tableside with our delicious, freshly-made dressing, a 100-year-old family recipe of fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar and Spanish extra virgin olive oil.

Be sure to sample a fine Spanish wine like Montecillo or Campillo. Relax in our courtyard or Mediterranean-style dining rooms, filled with hundreds of hand-painted tiles and Spanish-style fountains.

We are a sister to the Columbia in Tampa's Ybor City, founded in 1905. Children's menu available. Open 365-days a year, including all holidays.

Service was very abrupt and extremely slow. Waitress put down pot of soup sloshing it onto the table cloth. Set salads on the side without clearing the soup bowls. Hard to get coffee refills and never even asked us if we wanted water refills. Extremely poor service. Very different service, greeting and atmosphere than our experience at Tampa. Bean soup and meat perfection as expected. We had an early reservation to avoid the crowds but service was a real turn off for returning to this location with so many other rated venues nearby.

This was a GREAT dining experience! My wife and I ordered calamari fritos with garlic aioli to start which was the best calamari we have eaten over the past 36 years. We then each had the smaller size 1905 salad. Truly delicious and made table side. For the entree, we split the traditional Paella. Every single food item in this dish was cooked to perfection and the flavor combination was impeccable. We chose flan for dessert that was firm yet creamy and the caramel sauce was right on. What really made this experience completely special was a waiter named Ernesto. He was the best waiter we have ever had - seriously. Ask for him by name. Folks, if you don’t try this restaurant you’ll be missing out on a fantastic experience in Cuban cuisine!

Previous great experiences brought us back to the Columbia. Today’s experience was horrible. The downstairs smelled like a sewer, the food subpar and week old wine with a lemon was passed off as sangria immediately inducing nausea and disgust.

Good for the wife’s birthday while testing a new place out to put in to regular rotation. Menu is big enough not to get bored and to have something new to come back to. Seating is not as intimate as you can hear conversation right beside you without trying to listen in but overall still good experience. Recommend making reservations as there can be a wait. Heard there was an hour wait on a Monday evening, a time you’d think walking in would be easy.

Columbia did not disappoint. Our party of 4 had a good time. However, the 1905 Salad did not seem as tasty as usual and the eggplant dish was a bit overcooked and also not as good as usual. However, we do love the restaurant and enjoyed our lunch.

Certainly worth a visit if you’re touristing in St. Augustine. 1905 Salad is classic. My fish dish was OK, but not great. The ambience and the building is full of character. Probably wouldn’t go back, but glad I went once. Oh, and the parking is free in a town where your biggest struggle will be finding parking.

Our family has loved eating at Columbia for many years. I was sad that it felt like the restaurant had gone downhill last night. Our waitress seemed uninformed and confused about the menu choices, even though they were Columbia mainstays (1904 Salads). The ladies room had one stall out of three closed, The waiting line was uncomfortably long. A broken soap dispenser and no toilet paper. 😞

We arrived a few minutes before our 5:30 pm reservation and we seated promptly. We ordered sangria and were served water. Our drinks arrived 30 minutes later, which in my opinion was not acceptable. We placed our order and were told Paella would take 40 minutes. Our main meals arrived within 30 mins and we're not done with our salads. We wanted to order wine with dinner, but out server hadn't been back to see us. We flagged her down and told her we wanted to order wine with dinner. We asked if it was possible to have the wine come out shortly, so it could be enjoyed with the meal, and she said it all depends on bar service, but she would try. The wine did come out after about 5-10 mins. The Paella was okay, but should have had more seafood. The area where we were seated, on the first floor, appeared dirty, there was food and silverware on the floor. I've dined at the location in North Redington beach, FL and the experience was very different, much more pleasant.

The staff was wonderful - friendly & pleasant. Our waiter Daniel was 11 out of 10 - one of the best servers I have ever had. Food and sangria was delicious and the atmosphere fun. The Columbia is a favorite place to visit when we go to St. Augustine. This time we went in honor of my husband who passed away at the beginning of the year - he LOVED Columbia's, especially the 1905 Salad - we have been here for many family celebration. In addition to going in his honor, we also celebrated my friend's birthday and once again Columbia's did not disappoint.

Nice resturant , great facility, staff was great. The food was mostly good but our appetizers were cold inside ( very tasty but not headed through, we ordered crab and bean cakes) we tried to order a Paella but were told it would take 45 minutes. They were crowded. Nice establishment though.

The food is good. But they use all the same seasoning for everything, just add different protein. The yellow rice is very flavorful. The ambiance is typical tourist place. The place is HUGE inside. The service is quick, the food is brought out hot. Can't complain. I just was expecting a more intimate setting for my wife's birthday. The cocktails were the worst. Granted there was only 1 bartender working at 6PM ET on Friday, but come on. My Old Fashioned ($16.00) was the worst I ever had. I like martinis as well, and he definitely used vermouth in my old fashioned. My wife order a Blanco Sangria (white $10.00) and it was so watered down you couldn't taste any of the fruit. I ordered the Filet steak Saltedo ($28) - it was okay. the steak cubes were a little tough as they appeared to be cooked well done. The famous 1905 salad (w entre $9.00) - wow the salad was exceptional. Wife ordered the Spanish Bean Soup ($8.00) and Stuffed Piquillo peppers ($12.00) - was very good. My son ordered the stuffed El Pepito ($12.00) and it was good, but not what he was expecting, he miss ordered and the Empanadas de Picadillo - DI ($12.00) & Croquetas de Pollo-Din $10.00. For desert we shared a Bread Pudding - was very good huge portion and was not dry at all and the rum sauce was great. Total ticket for 3 was $146.97. It was for my wife's birthday, we drove like 30 miles. Dont think I will return. BUT the lunch might be worth it especially with the 1905 salad as the centerpiece.
