   I had the paella, and I felt that it was not very good at all. Others at the table had steak. There were six of us. One person had a chicken dish that she felt was good. Everybody else felt their dinner was substandard. The place looks good and the service was great. The price was fair, but I think the quality of the food justified the cost.

   3rd trip to St A. 1st time at Columbia. 6:30 reservation on a Monday. Server seemed apathetic to making recommendations...really made us feel like it didn't matter if we had a good experience or not. Mojitos were over-sugared and weak. Both tapas were good but had to substitute one entree...Lobster Cannolini...for crabmeat stuffed shrimp. The Pollo Manchego was good but not great. Overall? Not impressed considering the price. Passed on desert. Overall, an underwhelming experience.

   Cafeteria food is the only way I can describe the mushy overcooked broccolini, tough rib eye, so-so crab cakes and watery stuffed mushrooms. The only flavor in the crab cakes came from what little sauce was around it. The steak was medium rare as ordered but was a tough cut of meat. Even the rice was blah. For our 6:00 reservation, we asked for a quiet table, if possible. They seated us at 6:10 at a small bistro table next to a party of 12 and towards the middle. We couldn’t carry on a conversation…after another 10 minute wait, they seated us in the bar area, that oddly was quieter. Neither the hostess, or server brought a special menu that was brought to some other tables. We had already ordered. They were out of their Pinot Grigio “Family wine”. The server suggested a nice alternative for just $1 more. I felt like cattle being herded through their process. It’s all about volume and there is no pretending that it was a nice experience.

   We were sat in bad location and had to rearrange table, then no cuban sandwich offered at dinner, plus chicken we had tasted like fish! 1905 Salad was great and good server! Very disappointed with experience

   Please go here with family went to visit Saint Augustine here to be short in the kitchen. Took a good while to get food out and service was slower than usual white stuff very nice.

   First time to eat at The Colombian. We chose this place on recommendation of a friend. My husband and I were there for our 46th wedding anniversary. I had actually put that when I made the reservation. There was no acknowledgment of it by our waiter or host. We were seated in a tight table setting when I saw much better seating. No problem. We ordered our food and a shrimp appetizer. We both had ice water to drink. Our water glasses were empty, but our waiter was very busy so we didn’t press. The bread and butter were delicious. The appetizer was also very good. I got a salmon dish and my husband ordered a shredded pork dish. There was a lot going on in my salmon. I would probably order something else if we go again. It was good and I wouldn’t discourage anyone from trying it. We didn’t order dessert, as the portions were quite ample. We did bother our waiter for a picture and he was very obliging. All in all a good experience.

   The staff was very helpful and attentive. Excelent knowledge of food and wines, helped us make the best choices for us. June was our waitress, very personable! Hope she serves you on your visit!

    First time to the St Augustine area and this Columbia restaurant. The food was only good/ok, but the noise level was excessive. Had a large wedding group that should have been in a separate room. Our server overall did a good job. We’ve visited the Columbia in the Sarasota area several times and always had an excellent meal, but this location was disappointing.

    We were, unfortunately, seated next to a VERY LARGE AND VERY LOUD party! Then, the party of 3 seated on the other side opted to enjoy THEIR meal with someone via Face Time (and due to their phone volume, we got to be privy to THAT conversation)! Management could have easily stepped to the plate and politely asked the over zealous party to take it down a few notches! And the over-loud cell phone visit?!? I have no words!!! Our $200+ meal for 2 was monumentally disappointing.

    The restaurant is beautiful very well laid out. Balcony area ver nice. Service was very good . Food was a little disappointing. Lots of menu choices but the dishes we had lacked flavor. Did not seem to be inline with the true ethnic identity the advertised.

    The 1905 salad and shrimp starter were excellent. However the queso de fundido was 3/4 tomato sauce with a patch of cheese. The mahi-mahi entree was over cooked and dry. And all of its components were lukewarm. It seemed that the fish and plantains had been precooked. Warm, juicy food was expected.

    We arrived on time for our reservation and was seated promptly. The waitress seemed to know her menu and took our order quickly. From there it was two hours of slow service till we asked for our check just to make the nightmare stop. Horrible experience for mediocre food.

    The utensils and plates were dirty and I am not picky but they were dirty. We did asked for plastic utensils and they were provided. The server was amazing! He really made the visit so much better.

    Very efficient service both by the waitstaff and the reservation staff. We called to move up our reservation by an hour, and it was no problem at all. First time dining at the Columbia Restaurant and both waitstaff and food excellent.

    Lovely restaurant and environment. Our waitress was prompt and had a great attention for details. We enjoyed our date night. The only concern/complaint we had was a man dressed as a woman wearing a VERY short skirt with torn pantyhose that had large holes in them and long dredlocks, serving as a host. Very unprofessional and quite abhorrent and unprofessional in my opinion

    I always come back for the 1905 salad and bread that is out of this world. My friends tried new items the salmon cooked in parchment, the stuffed shrimp, and my husband the chicken. Having a taste of each one they all made excellent choices. The favors and tastes were beyond words. Everything was excellent. Our server was very attentive and professional.

    Dining at the Columbia is always a wonderful experience and this time was no different. I have a food allergy and the waitstaff as well as the kitchen made sure I didn't get any soy in my meal even though it required them making me a specially modified lunch to enjoy with my friend. Always worth the price of the meal, there.

    Typically Columbia gets 5 stars. Last night the food arrived warm, like it had been waiting around before delivery to our table. We didn’t want to go through the hassle of sending it back. We will come back again sometime.

    Birthday dinner. Seated immediately. Raphael took our drink orders. Then a woman server came and was surprised to learn that someone else was waiting ‘her’ table. AWKARD. “COMING OUT & COMING IN” to avoid a collision as the exited and entered the kitchen.

    Ordered the palomilla for lunch. I'm not very impressed. It was a thin piece of steak that was very tough. Didn't get a steak knife to cut with. Had to use a butter knife. I requested to sub out the fries for fresh veggies. The server initially told me that they typically don't have veggies readily available for lunchtime and are only available during dinner. She went to the kitchen to ask, and they were able to accommodate my request. I did specifically request that no oil or butter is to be used. I received a side of broccolini as my vegetable. Unfortunately, it was extremely salty and not palatable. It was also cooked in some form of fat. I informed the server and received a replacement. It was way less salty, but again, it was cooked in a form of fat. The service was not good. I hardly saw my server and waited for quite some time to ask for refills on the beverages. Quality was mediocre for the prices. I also looked at other patrons that ordered the "popular" 1905 salad. Not impressed. Yes, it's done up and prepared tableside but made with iceberg lettuce. The salad is not worth the $15-18. The restaurant has a gift shop that sells their special dressing. My jaw dropped when I saw the nutrition label. 21 grams of fat per serving! If you can't tell by now, I'm conscious of my dietary intake.
