About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Charming
  • Good for groups
Family-owned and operated for more than 116 years, Columbia has earned acclaim for its old-world charm and award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine.

Casual attire is fine, but we don’t allow sleeveless shirts on men in the dining room.

Join us for century-old family recipes like Paella "a la Valenciana," Roast Pork "a la Cubana," and fresh seafood specialties.

Don’t miss Columbia’s Original “1905” Salad®, prepared tableside with our delicious, freshly-made dressing, a 100-year-old family recipe of fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar and Spanish extra virgin olive oil.

Be sure to sample a fine Spanish wine like Montecillo or Campillo. Relax in our courtyard or Mediterranean-style dining rooms, filled with hundreds of hand-painted tiles and Spanish-style fountains.

We are a sister to the Columbia in Tampa's Ybor City, founded in 1905. Children's menu available. Open 365-days a year, including all holidays.

We have been several times and to others in Florida. I decided to stay away from the Paella and the Fideua! I had the fish with diced eggs on top. Not really tasty but fresh. They were out of the Gaspacho! No worries! Mine is better than theirs anyway. The black bean soup was not soup! It was white rice in the bottom and dried black berma on top. The restaurant was pretty dirty! The bathrooms were not clean at all. The Cava sangria was ok. We waited 15 minutes after our reservations. My expresso was not hot and pretty light. Not blown away at all and I think it will be a very long time when we return. The restaurant just has the « Famous name » that every one knows. The food by far was less than mediocre! The restaurant needs an update. A hostess yelling a name On top of her lungs and everyone waiting around…..well that really does not give an atmosphere of a high rip or expensive restaurant.

Love this place! We always visit Saint Augustine for the Fourth of July and we always make a reservation for date night at our favorite spot. Never disappoints. Food was amazing, atmosphere was perfect, and always friendly service!

Columbia does a great job even on crazy busy holidays. Reservations are a must and I’m so happy when we show up on time and table is ready. Hostess was so nice and friendly even with all the mayhem. Quiet table as requested and all 4 of us enjoyed our meals with nonissues. Server was sweet and paid attention to the little details even when super busy. 1905 salad, Cuban bread, sangria and picadillo, maduros and rice all nicely presented. Thanks again for another fun meal out.

We LOVE Columbia Restaurants and the St Augustine location is one of our favorites to visit. The staff is great - these people hustle and do it with a smile - which can be difficult when dealing with busy times and lots of people, but they do it and do it well. We love the cleanliness of this location (hard to do with such high traffic) and of course, the food.

Always consistent outstanding service and food is so authentic and prepared beautifully. Best Cava Sangria anywhere! We have been coming here in the summer for 40+ years and our 20 yr old daughter was a baby when she first visited. We have many wonderful memories here. It is a true dining experience and worth the price. Our waiter Sean (Shaun?) was outstanding and anticipated our needs before we could even ask. Friendly and helpful in making selections. We spoke to the lovely manager/admin person Elisabeth and she spent some time chatting with us and other guests to make sure everything was running smoothly. Really appreciated her discussion! Thanks Columbia for being our favorite St Augustine restaurant!! Keep up the good work and hope to see you next yr!!!
