Columbia Restaurant - Sarasota Ratings and Reviews
Irene needs to be retrained. Usually service excellent
Ordered 1/2 black bean soup w onions
And 1/2 1905 salad
Lady delivered the soup without the onions. 10 minutes later after we finished the soup she delivered the onions
We asked for the salad we ordered she was rather rude and informed us it would come. Another 10 minutes finally delivered.
We asked to have both items delivered at the same time.
We enjoyed the starters and the sangria but were very disappointed with the main. We both had paella espagnola. It was very salty, light on seafood and vegetables and filled with chicken pieces which were so dry they were virtuallly inedible. Given the price of the mains at $22 this was not a positive experience.
This is our go to brunch for Social Milestones like birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
The service is excellent and very attentive.
There sangria is their own special recipe and it is absolutely amazing!
The menu has so many great items and their paella is incredible!
They’re reporting Dessert is extraordinary! Great place especially for special occasions!
The ropa vieja (cuban dish) was poorly elaborated, not at all as it should be. Dessert (flan) same thing, not as great as it used to be long time ago. Water is undrinkable, I doubt Columbia Restaurant has not enough resources to serve you drinkable water not something that tastes like gas on it. Not all of us likes sugary and unhealthy drinks!
Ate lunch here with family. Lovely open air seating with bustling St Armand’s atmosphere. Second time at this location, and food was delicious again. Recommend the Cuban black bean soup and Cuban sandwich. Churros for dessert do not disappoint! Service was helpful and friendly.
We enjoyed this restaurant! Our server, Jorge's, was exceptional, as was the food. Something a little different, but also a varied menu that pleases everyone. We chose to eat their a second night, trying different entrees, and it was another fabulous dinner!
our waitress was inattentive and appeared distracted and unfocused. the best thing she did all night was run out to the street to return my credit card, which i left at the table by accident. If that's the best i can say about the service, something is wrong here.
The best bread ever and love the salad. Haven’t found any other food I’m in love with. However, the server was so friendly talking to us about his football trips and our sports likes. The hostess who called herself a customer service employee asked if she could hold and walk with our 7 mo twin who was being fussy. She was so friendly and helpful. Wonderful employees!!!
I had some very nice meals at Columbia but this was not one of them. I went on New Year’s Day and the food was subpar. The fish dishes were over cooked and the side veg tasted like leftovers. The Spanish rice was sticky and dense. Service was strained and not friendly. I think I’ll avoid Columbia during the holidays and may try other restaurants.
