Always a special treat. Out of town visitors were impressed with the food offerings starting with the drinks and Tapas thru the wonderful dessert that was enough for two.
Food is expensive and average! Not worth the price
We loved the food. Our server was fantastic. The 1905 salad is one of the best.
The place was not packed and the service was horrible; in fact our waiter had only 1 other table. We never got our appetizer, had to ask for refills of our drinks, and had to request the “free” bread. I have heard such great things about the restaurant, and was disappointed over all. The food was good, however, over priced and considering the overly antiquated decor and horrible service we will not be dining here or recommending this place.
The original Columbia restaurant in Tampa is far superior in the wallet he and quantity of the meals. While it is more crowded in Tampa, it is worth it, on balance, based upon the portions provided at each restaurant
The service was only surpassed by the outstanding men.u. We could not have asked for me in a restaurant.
Whenever we vacation in Florida, we hope we are near a Columbia restaurant. Today, we enjoyed a wonderful lunch, dining outside in a comfortable atmosphere. Alfredo really did a great job, from making the Sangria to mixing the special 1905 salad that we love. The food was splendid, as usual. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Food was great! I could come there just for the warm bread. Hostess wasn’t very friendly. Server was attentive even though she was very busy.
must try the 1905 salad but everything is excellent
Service started out great and then quickly faded, server changed and it’s like they forget which tables are being looked after by whom. Poor clearing of the table, had left over sides on the table while we ate dessert. Had to seek out a manager to get the bill and even then no acknowledgement that something may be a miss in the service. No checks on how the food was. The snapper dish didn’t match what we were expecting at all, couldn’t even tell it was fish it was so over sauced. Had to make a wave to ask for another round of drinks. All in all very disappointing when it started out so well. Not sure if it’s a management issue or a serving staff issue but it definitely affected how much we spent as they missed opportunities for sales and left a bad memory for us.
Nice but loud
Annual reunion Lunch with our friends in Florida
With a great menu everyone enjoys
FOOD WAS AMAZING... SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!!
After making reservations the maitre d attempted to seat us at two of the worst tables; the first by the kitchen door, the second by the swinging door for the staff to take food to the outdoor diners. However they were very accommodating about changing our table. Very good food.
We took our friends from Maryland. They had never been there before. They said it was awesome and are still talking about the great food. He is a sea food buff and he said he never had mussels that were as good as the ones at the Columbia. They will go back next year when they come back down. Thank you for a great meal and time.
Totally enjoyed our meal here tonight! I had grouper topped with crab and it was superb! My friend had bacon wrapped shrimp & loved it, too! Every time I dine here my meal delicious! I can't vwait to go again. Such a great location in the heart of Celebration.
Try to visit Columbia at least once/twice during my annual trip to FL. Absolutely love it.
Last night in Florida with family. Food was good however, service poor. The servers are rushing around making salads, mixing drinks but not tending to basic needs like water and drink refills. We were offered water by 3 servers before it came. Tableside salad making was awkward as the table beside us couldn't have the cart set near the table it was "impressing". Basically, too much tableside hoopla and not enough basic table tending like water, drink refills, how was your meal? etc. Don't like pining for server attention at a restaurant. On the plus side the wine was good!
Salad was excellent, sangria stirred tableside.chicken with yellow rice also
Preservation bar drinks quite agreeable. Hostess & seating attitude less than so. Picked the wrong fish entree but not their fault, yet could have been better seasoned. Service started well with order taking, absent thereafter. Busy floor was loud and rather crowded together. Overall, could do better nearby.
Excellent service, food and dining experience! Our waiter was friendly and very good with extremely prompt service.
Very disappointing. I sought out this restaurant based on previous experience at Tampa airport and in Clearwater Beach. This particular restaurant is nothing like it’s sister facilities. The recipes are not even the same and it was freezing in the restaurant so much so that you cannot be comfortable I had to hold my nose. Traveling from MN VERY FRUSTRATING to pay $150 and dissapoint relatives. ANNOYED! I generally when my flights with enough time so that I can eat at this establishment when I fly in and out of Tampa Airport.
We had a wonderful time celebrating our daughters 16th Birthday. Great food and the perfect place to celebrate!
Attractive setting, excellent service, average food.
Great service . The food was bursting with many different flavors. Simply, exceptional !
I thought my steak was great and enjoyed it. It would have been even better if it had been hot when it was served. My wife thought her snapper was okay but not great. The service could have been better with less time between visits from our waiter.
I am sorry to say that the meal was cold, and one was even overcooked. After we had received our order we never saw our waiter and when we were ready to go we had to flag down another to get our check.
We make a point of having a dinner at Columbia on our annual spring trip to Florida. It’s nice to see consistently good food and service on every visit. Their menu is extensive but we alway make sure to get three of our staples there: the wonderful fresh Cuban bread, a pitcher of Sangria, and the 1906 salad. It’s very popular so advance reservations are a good idea if you want to get a good table inside.
We were very disappointed in the Columbia Restaurant. We were celebrating my husband's birthday. There were five of us, 2 adults, 3 well-behaved children. After being seated , our server immediately came over to take our drink order. There was no small talk, no introduction to the menu (even though we've eaten here before, he didn't know that), it was just what do you want to drink. I had ordered a mojito, my husband a beer, it took less that 2 minutes for our drinks to arrive. This leads me to believe that the drinks are pre-made in big batches, which shows. Our server was in a rush and wanted us to order right away. We had decided beforehand to have Tapas, so we placed that order. Our server then informed us that some things take a while to make, so we should go ahead a place our entree order. We did even though we would have liked to take longer in looking the menu over. This, by the way, happened in a span of about five minutes.
Within minutes of placing our tapas order, we were presented with our tapas. They were okay, not very warm and nothing to write home about. Upon finishing the last croquet, I looked up to find that our server was bringing out our food. There was no time in between tapas and entree. It literally only took about 20 minutes from being seated to having our entrees. This might be ok if I was on a lunch break and trying to eat quickly. However, when spending a couple of hundred dollars on a special birthday dinner, being rushed and served sub par food is not okay.
We took our time trying to enjoy our meal, we watched our server rush around taking table after table. He never offered to refill our water or to place me another order for a bar drink. It seems as if the server only cared about quantity, not quality. We left after paying a hefty tab, feeling disappointed. No one should ever have to spend that much money to be treated like that. I could go to Chic Fil A and have a much happier, friendlier experience for a tenth of the price.
We sat in the back nook. 5 of us. The table next to us was EXTREMELY LOUD. The one young woman that sat about 2.5 feet away from me screamed everything she said. This was not a child. Maybe early twenties. I couldn't enjoy my time with friends because I couldn't hear what they said!
We had a great meal and great service.
Poor service from the front desk (who ignored us and looked past is) to the waiter (who brought us cold coffee and brought a replacement 15 min later, when we we finished with dessert)
First visit, won't be our last. Food was great. Tapas were excellent. Wines were top-notch. Everything was fine until the waiter disappeared for almost 30 minutes after we finished our tapas. In those 30 minutes, the mosquitoes started swarming and our meal went from first-rate to frustrating. While we understand that the restaurant was packed and that it was a busy night, forgetting about those on the patio can make a meal go from good to sour pretty quickly.
Very enjoyable, great menu and well presented. Our server, Monica was very attentive, even if the restaurant was completely packed.
Our new found favorite restaurant while visiting Florida.
Great place, but VERY crowded!
Sad to say, the mahi sandwich I ordered was not the best...very fishy tasting which I’ve never encountered before.
I wondered how many per day were tossed!
Orders should come w/a complimentary cup
of soup or salad.
All the extras’ are too much!
We liked this restaurant so much we went two times in 3 days. Great menu and personable servers made this restaurant experience exceptional. Loved the food as well.
Service is always superior attentive but not obtrusive.
When staff use the phrase”it’s my pleasure” it feels sincere .
Great food and service. Lots of tableside dining.
Columbia came highly recommended but were we disappointed. Too noisy too busy too salty and too rich. Not worth the trip (and we fought traffic 45 minutes both ways to get here). Definitely NOT worth the trip. There are far better restaurants in Orlando.
