Columbia Restaurant - Celebration Ratings and Reviews
I have been to the Columbia Restaurant many times and always have a great time, the menu offers extensive and varied choices and the experience is enhanced by the live music in the bar. the two guys who play there are very talented and interact with the diners.
When I'm in town I will always visit the Columbia !
This was an indication of my sister, who had recently been in their restaurant in Tampa. I am very fortunate to have one close-by, in Celebration. The ambient is very charming and welcoming, and the staff is very friendly and efficient. The menu is really fantastic with all those choices of Tapas and many nice entrée options for different tastes. The food does not disappoint at all and I am looking forward to go and try several other dishes.
We eat here often and have never had such a poor service experience before so trusting it was just an off night for our server. Food took forever to get to the table (we ate outside with a wonderful 17 month old - but had to take two trips around the block to keep him occupied). When we asked the server to check on the food, he was less than pleasant - but did come back with our food about 10 minutes later...minus the appetizer. If this was a routine experience, we would not return, but I'm sure it was just a one time happening - at least we're hoping that is the case.
This was my second visit the first was lunch a couple of years ago. Dinner portion seemed to be the same as lunch therefore to small. The ropa vieja was too tomato tasting and should have been more shredded. I am of Cuban Ancestry and have eaten this dish many times and know what it should taste like. Like the restaurant but not the dish I ordered.service was very good.
We had a server who got very mixed up with our group in the beginning and he wasn't good at explaining things to the older members in our party. But after we ordered everything went smoothly. Definitely get appetizers to preoccupy time between getting the main course. Overall a good experience. And I highly recommend it!
Hidden in downtown Celebration, this venerable Cuban-Spanish eatery hits it out of the park time and again. What an outstanding restaurant. Its recipes have been honed and tweaked and vetted over 100 years or so -- literally -- so that the final result is close to perfect. It's saying something that even with the interesting appetizers, and the surprising fish entrees, that the most memorable items are a salad (the 1905 salad, the best salad you'll ever eat) and the Cuban bread (crusty, hot, perfect). And that doesn't mention the sublime sangria, made at the table with brandy. Service is professional and unobtrusive. And even with the classy white-tablecloth atmosphere, the price is right, too.
Highly recommended; one of my favorites.
my wife and I joined 3 other couples to celebrate her birthday, and we honestly could not have picked a better place. The service was excellent from the start, and the waiter was extremely knowledgeable about everything from the alcohol selection to the most minute details of each dish. The food itself was excellent, everyone at our table had high praise for everything the ordered. The 1905 salad should win awards, and the cuban bread they serve would be the highlight of most other restaurants. The entrees we all ordered were top notch, with ample serving sizes. Finally, the dessert: I really have no words. Colombia Restaurant is the place to go when you want Cuban-style food, there is simply no other competitor that even comes close.
You will not be disappointed in this restaurant. The menu is full of great dishes. We took some friends from Australia they were very impressed. The restaurant's décor is elegant the menu was interesting to read and the service was good. I had the grouper jimmy and it was outstanding. Couple it with the sangria and is a meal fit for a king.
My wife and I always make a point to come here when were in Florida. The atmosphere is great and the food is delicious. For steak lovers I recommend the Filet Mignon Chacho...it is really great! Also they make a really good Mojito. Overall we always have a great experience.
Took the mother of my children here on Mother's Day. While the place was busy, service was excellent. This included a stop at our table by Assistant Manger Jim, who seemed generally interested in how we were enjoying meals. Each of us had different items from the extensive menu and all were excellent, served at right times and tempertures. Looking forward to bringing guests here.
We've been going to the Columbia in St. Augustine, FL for quite some time. This was a first at the Celebration, FL location to celebrate Mother's Day for my wife. We found an energetic environment, friendly staff and an excellent waiter (Brent). The food, as always, is consistently excellent and a highly recommended destination for any reason.
I made the reservation through OpenTable back in March...and everything was just fine. The restaurant called the day before to confirm the reservation. Upon arrival about 15 minutes early, our table was waiting for us. Being Mother's Day the place was full and we were told they had received over 1300 reservations for the day.
This was not our first visit to Columbia which quickly became our favorite restaurant in the area. Our meal with sangria da cava, tapas, entrees, desserts and coffee was just under $200 plus tip...a great value for the quality and excellent service for a party of four.
If you haven't tried Columbia Restaurant you owe it to yourself to be wowed from the moment you arrive. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience....
We made our reservation through Open Table at our desired time. We were seated immediately upon arrival even though the restaurant was completely full. Our waiter was very attentive. Their Cuban bread is excellent. We ordered the Queso Fundido as an appetizer (different than anywhere else) nevertheless it was good. The Lobster stuffed pasta was excellent. Plenty of chunks of real lobster were visible. Highly recommend the dish. We finished with the crema catalana which was good but not the best I've ever had. The restaurant is in a little down town area of Celabration. It is charming and has plenty of atmosphere. There is outside seating if you like to people watch while enjoying a delicious meal. I highly recommend it to anyone.
